The description I read on Gamestop's Kong ad, it sounds pretty ****ing stupid.
"Vampire is gonna kill the sun!"
You can either:
Join the ancient order of vampire slayers, who managed to be **** all useless at protecting Morrowind/keeping away the like five vampire cabals that run the entire southwest of skyrim, and had the foresight to name themselves the dawnguard (brilliant choice really- I mean, it was obvious that the sun was gonna need protection).
OR
Join the vampires, and help them kill the sun. Even though that means destroying all life, certainly all human life. But obviously, the brilliant, calculating vampire lords, know what to do once every sizable animal is dead.
Please tell me I'm not the only one who thinks this is the dumbest thing since Mass Effect 3's ending.
I'm amazed that they would release it for Xbox only when it was just as successful on PC... The original game was already a pain-staking "Xbox remake" but they just had to rub it in...
I'm a PC Player, because I tend to come back to these games years later to replay.
Also... who plays these games with a walkthrough? The best part of Bethesda RPGs is the ability to explore and discover things on your own... only to realize that when you think you are done you haven't even done half the dungeons or quests yet.
So... I have no idea how good it is. All I know is that I need to create my other character for it (I usually play through these games three times - once to explore and try things out, and then optimized and expedited 'good' and 'evil' characters). Right now I have an Argonian thief that started off as Robin Hood... then as I progressed with Daedric Quests and got lured into the Dark Brotherhood became more and more evil. That Argonian is going the Vampire Lord route, mostly because Argonian Vampires look amazing. But I need to create a Dawnguard character.
Microsoft decided to pay Bethesda for semi-exclusive DLC, in that they get theirs at least 30 days before anyone else.
So, no, I'm not playing it, and I'm bitter about it. It's the one thing Bethesda has done that really pissed me off.
Either way, this DLC hasn't been exciting me much, in fact, it looks bad, but that's just me, and I'll buy it anyway. I'm waiting more for future ones.
