I'm actually surprised that nobody has posted a dedicated thread about this, particularly since it is due out in 2 days (37 minutes, 10 seconds).
Anyways, World of Warcraft expansion #2 is coming out, and with it, a new continent and a completely new class.
Who has it preordered? Who's rolling a Death Knight? Who's enjoying patch 3.0?
I'm personally a little cautiously optimistic at this point; as a Hunter, I'm less than impressed with how they've been handling the class throughout the Beta. While the overhaul of the pet system was looooong overdue, the developers have routinely shown ignorance about how the class works on the forums, including such gems as stating we still got 2 RAP per point of Agility or that we should want to stack MP5 (we would be ok with stacking it if it were on non-caster gear).
Still, it's looking like good fun, so I'll avoid being too critical until I've seen level 80.
The other night I watched the Blizzcon 2008 Dungeon & Raid Panel (I didn't play when it actually happened) and it looked pretty fun. It's about time they fixed raiding by allowing ten man raids for every 25 man raid, but they can still screw up itemization, PvP, class balance (in both PvE and PvP), crafting, etc.
I'll give it a shot, but Blizzard has only served to ruin the game slowly yet surly ever since launch day.

I'm nerd enough to link my WoW Armory Though I'll put it in a small font.
Death knights are very fun , or at least they will be for about a week before they are nerfed SOOO hard.
They are incredibley overpowered on beta
I can't actually decide which char to lvl up to 80 1st, normally it would have been my warlock but they really messed warlocks up
Warlock? Messed up? Oh no no no, now they just have to go Demonology and be massively OP for thirty seconds every three minutes.
But I'm trying to get a friend's two chars up to at least late 60s by launch day (They're at mid fiftys and I have no job.)
Also, I'm no where near interested in the Death Knight class.

Major props to Zaphod and High~Light Studios for the sig!
A punk rock song won't ever change the world, but I can tell you about a couple that changed me
I don't have it pre-ordered, but I'll probably pick it up a day or two after it releases...No point in getting it at the midnight release, since my boyfriend won't be able to get it then. My main is a prot pally, and after that hits 80, I'll level a tank DK, and switch to Ret, although I like raiding as prot.
And get killed by a Ret Pally who can now fear and nuke you, in addition to stun and SoC etc.
Ret Pallys have fear? I see nothing of the sort on the Ret Paladin tree.
Also, Ret Pallys only auto kill you if you let them near you, can't do anything if you CC them.

I just went through a whole annoying process to get the Collector's Edition.
I pre-ordered it on gamestop.com the day it was announced, and checked today to see the order was cancelled.
Apparently there was a problem with my credit card, and an email was sent to my OLD EMAIL, which I switched on gamestop.com about 3 months ago, saying that if I didn't fix it in 5 hours they would cancel my order.
So I then had to order it off eBay, thank god it was low priced so I payed the same amount it would have cost me to order it on gamestop.
I'm gonna have to wait for ~3 days to get it, but, I don't mind, I would have had to anyway.
"If I do go to heaven, I'll smack god across the face and tell him to get me a grilled-cheeses sandwhich and then say 'Yea what now god!? Say some'in! I dare you!' "
I admit that Rets were nerfed pretty heavy the last patch, but I say wait until a couple weeks into level 80 before declaring them worthless in PvP. The changes are still too new to have had time to sufficiently test them, and with the Beta over there hasn't been any time at all to test them at 80.
I hate to say it, particularly since I abhor people who use the term Huntard, but I've been less than impressed with Retadins in general lately. Part of it has to do with the fact that they choose the damage/leveling tree when they have access to excellent tanking and healing trees (both of which are in a bit of a shortage), and not because of the fact that it provides so much excellent raid utility, either. Most of it, however, is that they are convinced that they should be able to spam whatever spells they want and never go oom and that they should do as much dps as a Hunter or Rogue (despite the fact that their buffs are infinitely better).
Warlocks aren't in a great spot right now, but they are really middle of the pack (or a little below that) overall. I have a close friend who runs a lock as his main and loves PvP, and he hasn't complained about Arena since 3.0 (except that they weren't giving rating last week).
Supposedly they are trying to get the focus of PvP so that it isn't exclusively arena, which should help with a lot of complaints.
On the bright side, I'm now up to 40 small pets. 10 more and I'll get the pet skunk :D.
Semi-easy pets left to get:
White Kitten (500g+ on AH, I've been waiting on a bargain)
Mechanical Toad (I have the recipe, it's just that my engineer alt doesn't have the required skill)
Black Tabby (I actually had one of these drop, but I sold it on the neutral AH for 900g instead of keeping it)
The 2 BRS pets (I didn't realize the quest giver was allied with Booty Bay... if I had I would have done the quests before becoming Kill on Sight with BB)
The mecha-chicken (apparently these quests are BB rep as well ;_; )
Hopefully that will put me within range of whatever small pets they sell in the expansion. If not, I think the Christmas gift this year counts as a small pet.
I probably should just abort my attempt at the Bloodsail Admiral title until 80, which hasn't been going very smoothly (too slow solo, near impossible to get a decent group for it).
I'm not going to buy it. I'm in my last year of the pre-university education, and I wish not to screw it up totally. Hell, I would like to study medicine, and to be sure of a spot, you need to pass my exams *** laude.
Besides, I play a warlock and a shaman. It's not a really good time for either of those.

We have laboured long to build a heaven, only to find it populated with horrors.

Ignoring the fact you got completely nerfed into the ground, and are exactly the same/worse then you were in BC.
Wrong, buddy. Even with the nerfs, I'm about a gazillion times more awesome than I was in BC.
Of course, most ret pallies these days don't have anywhere near my level of gear, which could account for the difference in opinion between you and me.
For the record the only 'nerfing' they did was reduce Burst damage slightly and give them sustained Dps

You're kind of sounding like my guild leader was a few weeks ago. Not sure if he's saying the same thing today though. I'm pretty sure he's staying ret for the expac for a good while.
As for me, I pre-ordered it with overnight mail (I'm pretty sure I requested overnight mail). So it should arrive thursday, I think. I can't wait.
I pre-ordered. But unfortunately Im only level 50 at the moment. I like what they did with pallidans in 3.0. Although they got rid of too much. Like Crusader Strike

Crusader Strike still exists, it just won't refresh judgement durations. Which is fine, since there's only 2 worthwhile ones anyway, and both prot and ret will be judging every time they can.

On topic tho, i have it pre-ordered, and will be gettin it 12:01 am Eastern time thursday.
Local stores doing it, so i might as well.
Will level up Druid to raid heal later, as I have a spot all reserved for me, but for now DK is the way to go
Warlock? Messed up? Oh no no no, now they just have to go Demonology and be massively OP for thirty seconds every three minutes.
