And the Titans/Oilers have won the Hall of fame game. Which I am unhappy about. I'm still mad at them for stomping on the terrible towel. You just don't do that.
That's true, but is that really big enough of a deal to cut out 4 people? I don't think the difference would be that big and that way everyone would get to play. Especially since this is just for fun, does it really matter?
Regardless, is there anywhere else I can find a league to play in that people know of?
infact i do. I got a league i'm running in a laid back way. 20 team league, slighty different scoring. pm me your email and I'll send you and invite. Same goes for anyone else you know that is looking for another league.
I enjoyed watching the '09 HOF induction ceremony. Can't go wrong with McDaniel, Woodson, Thomas (better than LT IMO), & Smith. It's always a plus when greats from one's team make it in. Hopefully Reed & Tasker will get their due in the near future. Cris Carter too. It's absurd that he isn't already in.
I wasn't able to catch the ceremony (or the game), but I obviously saw snippets on Sportscenter and elsewhere.
I think Andre Reed is borderline, but will eventually make it. As much as Steve Tasker was one of my favorite Bills during that era, I don't think he is HoF material (of course, I haven't looked up his career stats and I am just judging him based on what I saw and/or remember). Carter will be; yeah, its absurd... but he will DEFINATELY be inducted.

I don't know how you could call Reed borderline. Top 5 in receptions all time when he retired (now 6th), 2nd most 50+ rec seasons, widely considered the best YAC receiver in the league, 6th in receiving TD's when he retired (now 11th), 4th in receiving yardage when he retired (now 9th), 4 Super Bowl appearances, 7 consecutive Pro Bowl selections.
You won't find many tangible stats on Tasker. But he's the best special teamer to play the game. No one could cover kicks better than him. He was so good that Levy refused to let him play WR because he wanted to keep him fresh on kick coverage and kick blocking situations. Bill Parcells has even admitted to having had to game plan around the guy. I understand the voters not wanting players that don't play every down in the HOF, but when we're talking the best ever at your position, an exception needs to be made

Sending the PM now. I ended up joining a league on facebook for s&g but it's all messed up. 2 qb and 4 flex...
Alright, MTGS Fantasy League draft date set. September 6th (Sunday) @ 10:30 pm ET. I'll be sending out reminders via PM and each of you should have received an email notification as well.

Yes, it would matter. Because if you have two 12's and a 10, the 10 will have much more dense teams because theres two less players to take picks. So by the 6th round the 10 man will be drafting players that are going in the 12 man's fifth. and by the 10th round they will be 2 rounds different. So the 10 man pod would have much more relative strength in their teams. (Same as a MTG draft, a 4 man pod leads to very strong decks, whereas a 12 man pod leads to strain on the decks in question)

Well crap. I might have to miss our draft considering that I JUST GOT INVITED TO ATTEND THIS YEAR'S PAX AS A GUEST OF WOTC!! They want me to fly up there to help debut the RYZWear shoes I designed
We're tentatively scheduled to arrive back in Wichita some time Sunday night. Hopefully it'll be early enough that I'll still have time to take part in at least a portion of the draft.

"...because without beer, things do not seem to go as well."
Tim Hightower is still REALLY awful at playing football. If Beanie Wells is not ready to go as the starter this team REALLY needs to completely abandon the run. Hightower getting 150+ touches this year spells disaster for the Cardinals. On the other side Mendenhall has looked completely ordinary, it's like he doesn't realize his playing time is on the line.
Gruden has some first game jitters but he's already miles better than Kornheiser ever was.
EDIT:
WTF - Vick signed with the Eagles. That was not a team I saw coming.
And this confirms Eagles are locked in as top tier for Madden 10. Already had a killer team for Madden before Vick, now they will just be total juggernauts. Not really sure how much better this makes the Eagles in real life though
It kinda hyper powers our offence. Just consider this possibility:
McNabb under centre.
Split backfield with Westbrook to the left; Vick to the right.
Jeremy Maclin, DeSean Jackson and Kevin Curtis out wide.
One of THE best (and largest) offensive lines in the NFL.
What the hell do you throw at that? Maclin, Jackson and Curtis make up a solid wide out trio. Westbrook is Westbrook. Michael Vick is pure athlete. Michael Vick's best feature in Atlanta were his legs, not so much his arm.
I'm biased of course, being an Eagles fan, but if Vick can be utilised properly and make a transition to a non-QB position, he could be what Philadelphia needs to get over the top.
Time will tell how this experiment works out.
As an Eagles fan, I don't know how I feel about this. Conflicted, I suppose, is the best way to phrase it.

I don't have any hard numbers on this, but I'm targeted more often than a black guy driving a beat-up sedan with a broken tail-light and no license plate, and Cy's well aware of that.
I'm not gonna lie, Edelman looked really good in that game, and thats not even considering the 70+ punt return. I have no idea who decided to go for it on fourth down own 35, that was just a bad idea in my opinion.
So I just got done a mock draft... I was very meh with my results. Mainly because I don't normally draft defensive teams (IDP, all the way!) and I was using the mock draft as a rough idea of when I could get some of them rookies.
1. Adrian Peterson (Min - RB)
2. Pierre Thomas (NO - RB)
3. Roddy White (Atl - WR)
4. Antonio Bryant (TB - WR)
5. Roy Williams (Dal - WR)
6. Knowshon Moreno (Den - RB)
7. Matt Ryan (Atl - QB)
8. Michael Crabtree (SF - WR)
9. Chicago (Chi - DEF)
10. Zach Miller (Oak - TE)
11. David Garrard (Jac - QB)
12. Nick Folk (Dal - K)
13. Tim Hightower (Ari - RB)
14. Darrius Heyward-Bey (Oak - WR)
15. San Francisco (SF - DEF)
I unfortunately got 1st pick (I hate being rushed with back to back picks and I get bored and make dumb decisions). The run down was QB, RB, RB, WR, WR, TE, K, DEF, 7? Bench. I started off strong I think. I don't want Adrian Peterson over some of the other top RBs this year but since it was a mock draft I figured I'd go with the standard so everyone else in the draft can get a good experience. My next 4 picks would lock in the RB and WR positions. I wanted a QB at this point but by the time it got around to me again (12 person draft) the next best QB according to yahoo ranks was Matt Schaub. I decided to go with Matt Ryan thinking I could get an underrated Garrard later, which I did. I wasn't pleased with my TE choice but he was the best available and I waited too long to get one. Some of my later picks were made based off of bye weeks.
Some thoughts:
Tim Hightower may not have done that fantastic last year and he was decent to meh tonight but with Beanie lurking in the shadows, hightower might step it up and perform really well... he kind of has to. I like Heyward-Bey mostly because... well... someone has to do something in Oakland, why not the guy who can outrun everyone else? Crabtree seems like the best WR rookie option, though... and the people I was drafting with seemed to undervalue these rookies or maybe I was just being an idiot. However, someone did immediately pick up Beanie right after I picked Moreno.

Yea, I got crabtree in the 9th round of a 10man draft. He's a risk pick because the 49er's really don't have a QB at the moment, which is why you can get him late. Also he hasn't even signed yet. So he might just be a dead pick.
I'm guessing that Vick is going to either the Rams or Seahawks. Maybe the Vikings if the Favre soap opera fails in the end. I was giving some **** to a co-worker of mine earlier today. (whom is a fan of Philly) and I said Vick is gona wind up there.
But then the more I thought of it, the more that sounds pretty good. Have Vick and McNabb using the Wildcat formation. Move Westbrook out to WR finally.
I must have that ESPn or something lol. I can't wait to rub it into my co-worker's face now. He hates Vick.
But like I said there, I think Vick would make for a killer offense there. We shall see now
Well, Vick couldn't go to a team I hate more. (I really, really, hate the Eagles). So It should be a perfect fit. Especially since it should sifficintly confuse the other defenses in the NFCEast, and give the birds the lead in the division. Not that it really matters, being that they're already the best team in that divison.
I just did my draft with another leage I'm in with some friends from college and I got what I think is going to be a beast of a team.
1. (7) Maurice Jones-Drew
2. (14) Drew Brees
3. (27) Pierre Thomas
4. (34) Thomas Jones
5. (47) Vincent Jackson
6. (54) Willie Parker
7. (67) Reggie Bush
8. (74) Bernard Berrian
9. (87) Lance Moore
10. (94) Jerricho Cotchery
11. (107) Kyle Orton
12. (114) Percy Harvin
13. (127) Jets D/ST
14. (134) Leon Washington
15. (147) Jeremy Shockey
16. (154) Nick Folk
I got the 7th pick which is around where I like to go ideally, so I was happy at that. When MJD fell into my lap at 7 I was even happier, and Brees at 14 to go with MJD was pretty awesome. I stocked up on RB's with my next few picks because everyone was drafting WR's fast, and I picked a few RB's that are fragile so I figured having some good backups would be good. My WR's seem to mostly be boom or bust guys, other than Vincent Jackson, and I figured at least 1 of my other 3 would be good. I felt like Kyle Orton was a great pickup for my backup, I really like him this year. I got a lot of Staints, I hope they live up to the hype offensively.
I feel like my team is basically going to be completely stacked at RB. I'm hoping I'll be able to make some trades to upgrade my WR corps, maybe get another starter.
If mock draft after mock draft I continuously pick up rookies like Wells, Moreno, McCoy, etc in the mid to early-late rounds... am I doing pretty decent or am I just going off on hype too much?

Moreno is a good pick (I expect Denver to rely on him heavily). Wells is an injury waiting to happen....avoid him. McCoy will probably see time because Westbrook NEVER stays healthy. That said however, I think he has bust written all over him. If you watched him @ all in college you'll see he dances too much in the backfield (a la Reggie Bush) and that cute crap doesn't fly in the NFL.
Yeah but he was doing pretty good against that NE Defense...
What about Sanchez? I just picked him in the mock draft I'm in now. Somewhere around 121st pick... as my back up to Drew Brees.
The more important question: should I believe the Deceptikon?
