I played the game from day 1 till I played the beta of the expansion. Its way easy to lose your self in that game given certain situations like you find your self in a really good guild with alot of progression. I raided with Discordia, first to release the onyxia kill video. I played way to much and was way addicted. Though without the guild to stay addicted with its no where near as bad as I used to be. As I quit when the expansion beta came out. i have sence then started playing again lately but without a guild now I dont find my self NEEDing to log on like I used to be.

I will play what wins, not what is convenient. Personal preference is nothing, The win is all that matters. I will netdeck at every opportunity, but I will not let that stifle my creativity. Style points do not appear on tournament reports. A good deck with an incompetent pilot is nothing more than a dressed up match win. I will crush my opponent mercilessly, and expect no less from him. Victory is its own reward, The prize is just a bonus.
Legacy is dying
Pretty much the right answer, too. Circle of Healing Priests are the single most essential healer component of any raid group. I'm one of the two or three best geared Pali healers on my server not yet in BT, and I am regularly outhealed in raids by Priests of slightly lower standard.
There's four types of healer. Priests are the best healers of raid-wide damage. Paladins are the best single-target healers - you use them on tanks. Druids are masters of healing over time and are vital in any fight with silences or high mobility requirements. And Shamans are what you need when only portions of the raid take damage.
Except that was before circle of healing coeff was buffed, i think that they removed what, 30% or so from the manacost. By then i had quit already though

Okay, I'm finally installing my demo, and want to be a living meatsheild. Anyone want to give me tips on how to do my stats? What race/class? And before anyone asks, I'm going to be doing alliance, as it's the only way for me to get help from a friend.
Paladin tanks are the best tanks, IMO. Human because Diplomacy is awesome, and the extra mace/sword expertise is nice, since you will almost always be using either a mace or a sword.

For meatshield-ness, you probably want to go Warrior (although Druid and Paladin work quite well for that too). As for Warrior race, I'd go Tauren just for the irony of being a "meat shield" - and yes, beef jokes are a very popular naming theme for the Tauren. (It looks like the name Meatshield is taken just about everywhere, though). But you want to go to the Dark Side Alliance, so that doesn't help much.
Race doesn't matter very much, so just go with whatever you'd like to look at for countless hours on end. Although if you decide to go female, you will probably be hit on every ten minutes or so. Especially if you wear plate. Less coverage = more defense for women, apparently.
As for stats, I've never gotten too far with a Warrior, so I'm not sure what the best leveling spec is (it's either fury or arms). Paladins level Retribution and Druids level kitty Feral. As for actual stats, you want Stamina and Strength with perhaps a little Agility thrown in while leveling.
As an aside, I'm not sure that Druid/Paladin are the best choice for beginners - Druids are a huge pain to level until level 20 (when they play more like Rogues anyways), and Paladins aren't very fun to level either (from what I've heard).

I would go druid or warrior.
For warrior, I would go with either a Gnome or Night Elf Warrior. Gnome if you want to have a sense of humor about things, and female Night elf just because they look very cool (I hate the way male Night elfs look). Night elfs also can become invisible, which is pretty handy from time to time.
My druid pick would be a night elf druid. Druids are extremly fun as your main character because you can respecialize to do just about anything. They also can transform into birds and fly around at level 68.
Just some options that will always be open to you in the future, should you choose druid.
a. Stay as a meatshield (in dire bear form)
b. Go into cat form to deal out serious melee damage and stealth around
c. Respecialize and become a moonkin. A very large owl creatue that is a powerful damage dealing spellcaster.
d. Respecialze and become a treefok. A walking tree. In this form you are a very strong healer.
A and B are both "feral" specializations, which use really simiar gear, but if you want to become a moonkin or treant, you will need to aquire caster equipment.

I mostly ignore stamina while leveling. Str and Agi are better leveling stats since they let you kill stuff faster.
This is from a Paladin's perspective, though. I'm not sure how it is for a warrior or druid.
Having played a warrior quite a bit I would agree stamina is definitely the 3rd best stat for leveling.
But Str followed by agility are the two best with the armor prevention warriors naturally have stamina is not that important. Until your actually are trying to tank something tough.
Ended up witha human warrior for now. I highly doubt I'll get far in levels.
I'm going around with a friend who decides that questing is more fun than killing things. Granted, it gives better equipment, I'd rather be smashing things. Five hours and I'm only level 7? Come on!

I assure you, the first time takes the longest. I recently started a new character (orc warrior), and I hit level 10 within two hours, without any help from my other characters.
And don't worry, there's plenty of smashery involved in questing. It's just directed smashing rather than mindless smashing.
Well, since I started this thread I guess I should be rude enough to ask for some advice conserning the game it self.
I'm playing a Gnome warlock. Is there anything I should stay away from doing/make sure that I do? I would like to go into affliction, but I'm way too n00b-ish to know if it's the way to go.
Also, I want to add to those who say WoW can't be played on a Macbook with the GMA 950 chipset. It runs perfect on high res, depth, everything. I know noone has mentioned it in here, but there are people that'll tell me I'm wrong. I'm not
I have a gnome warlock myself. It's gear sucks balls though, and it hasn't been played on since i left the game. I'm still somewhat proud of the name, considering how well it fits gnomes: Blingley

I personally have a low level 'lock myself - My biggest piece of advice is to get a good macro (which will change as you get new abilities), although I should warn you that doing that results in 1-button combat 50-75% of the time.
I'd post mine but I'm waiting for a final right now so I don't exactly have access to my WoW account at the moment. There are a bunch of good ones over at http://www.wowwiki.com/Useful_macros/Warlock, although some involve abilities you probably don't have yet.
For leveling Warlocks (I have lvld 4 of them so far, working on the BE now) Afflicition is the Best Leveling Spec period. When you reach lvl 40 you get to start drain tanking till 60. At 60 for outlands you respec demonlogy so you can get the Special Pet (doomguard I think)

Level 40? pansies? I started at 20.
No really, you start when you get life drain, then you switch to succubus to get on the crappy DPS until you get Manapact or whatever that crap from imp is. Then you switch to it. Then at level 55 you switch to Failguard.
Then you live happily ever after.

I say lvl 40 cause you can get the talents to make your draining unable to be interrputed. But 20 is where you really start with Succy go swing and you goin all greenbeam on them.

My main character is a affliction warlock. It's a great spec. It's fun, resiliant, and effective in both pvp and pve. One of my favorite things is that you have a ton of usefull tools for any given situation, and many of your spells are insta cast, so you can be completly mobile while casting.
Before I forget, I went in and found my cast sequence macro - you can use this a base to start with (make sure you use the ? icon to know what you are casting next):
/petattack [nocombat]
/castsequence reset=target/combat Immolate, Curse of Agony, Corruption, Life Tap, Drain Life, Drain Soul
You can copy/paste this into your macro page, although you obviously need to edit it for what you have. The idea is that it will send in your pet, cast all your damage over time spells, life tap for mana (if you want you can put in another tap), drain life to get what life you spent, and then drain soul for a shard & mana (at low levels enemies will be dead by the time you reach the end).
The [nocombat] clause means that your pet won't attack another target if you already have him on one - you can keybind something as "petattack", and I suggest you do so - so you can have the pet switch targets if you'd like.
The reset=target/combat clause means it will reset after every fight or when you switch targets, so that you can inflict all your damage over time spells from the start.
Personal preference is nothing, The win is all that matters.

That's not really saying much, considering that Intellect and Spirit are pretty useless for a class that doesnt have mana bars

Felguard is the best pet ever I was easily killing two equal level things at once or more with my level 70 lock when I had him out.
The only horrible leveling spec is Destruction you have to drink water so much you might as well just be sitting down all day.
