You know... should Sean Taylor be posthumously elected to the Pro Bowl? He is still tied for the NFC league lead in interceptions. This was by far the best year of his career. Which also makes this extremely sad... but I kinda saw something like this coming, after all, this was the same guy that just avoided going to jail for many years on weapons charges, the same guy that spit in the face of an opponent in the 2005 playoffs. While by all accounts he was a changed man in the last year or so, his past caught up with him.

With all due respect, being a Jets fan, although i hate the Patriots
they are the best team
Your 2007/2008 Superbowl champion New England Patriots go 19 0 and win it all
that has got to be one of the ugliest games ive seen all year
jsut ugly
pittsburg 3 dolphins 0
just ugh
they were discussing this on a local phoenix radio station this morning. the head dj (who happens to be a hardcore steelers fan) blamed the groundskeepers for maintaining a shoddy field. the fields were riddled with divots, some going as deep as a person's ankle, which can wreak havoc with the running game. i can imagine the groundskeepers actually losing their jobs over this one.
personally, i hope the packers thrash the cowboys thursday. favre is more machine than someone who was contemplating retirement.
in college news, i'm actually kind of intrigued about how the top teams keep changing. it's nice to see fresh blood at the top, like missouri and west virginia.

The groundskeeper put new turf on the field without tearing up the old stuff.
the regular season's not even over yet. isn't it a little early?
I second this, after all I don't know if my Giants can hold up too long, and I don't think the Bears are guaranteed anything with a win over a team like the Broncos. Lions still have a shot and perhaps even the Saints.

As Pfisiar stated, new turf was laid down sometime before the game. The old turf was supposed to be removed after having 4 high school championship games and the Pitt-SFU game played on it. But scheduling had the Steelers playing at home this weekend so there wasn't enough time to rip out the old stuff and put in the new stuff, so they just laid the new stuff down like a carpet...literally.
I doubt anyone will get fired over this. They did the only thing they could. The field at Heinz Stadium is always horrible this time of year because of the high usage. In the past, the Steelers replaced the filed after the HS championship games, it just happened this time that the football schedule had the Steelers at home at the wrong time.

I whole heartedly endorse this message. As soon as the site works for me, I'm voting him if they still let you.
sean talyor was just on the brink of becomming a shut down player...ive watched him since his college days tearing up offenses...and being a huge redskins fan this is a huge loss and terrible tradgey....but i think the media is running wild with atleast on sports center and the such....let his family have time to reflect and mourn with out 1000 reporters in there face asking to describe how they feel...the man had a rocky past....but he was starting to straiten up since his child was born...like so many people do...

@ gypsieking: yea, i know all about the Bengals. I was just referring as in most ppl probably assume the Bengals are a bottom feeding team based on the recent years of trouble. Much like my Lions
@ true heir: I have no clue what you comment is about. I assumed the Pats were gona win, and they did. I slept thru it, but it happend.
@ crovaxthecurse: I hope that in the event that Hester decides to stick around Chicago for many years, that the Bears will at LEAST increase the defense and pick up some better players. I just hate to see one man doing the majority of the work when it comes to a team winning. Sorta like Barry Sanders did for a lot of Lions games.
But of course, that brings an interesting question. Based on Hester's insane game, who the hell in their right mind is going to continue to kick the ball to him? I mean heck, might as well kick the dang ball out of bounds on the kickoff, and take the penalty.
lol, it would be better than Hester getting a TD or 50+ yards on a return.
finally, I too wish i could watch the Packers/Cowboys game on Thursday. I'll have to have a buddy of mine tivo it or something so i can watch it.
Wrath, I hear you about how the lions have been viewed, if they keep up their inconsistent ways despite all their talent they may be up for Most Underachieving Team awards.
The people who will kick to Hester, are the Mike Shanahans of the world who believe that they can be the ones to stop this freak of nature.
You can't stop Hester you can only slow him down, or try to ignore him (by not kicking to him that is)
PS Coughlin and the Giants had better not kick to him or I shall be most displeased.
So any predictions on todays game? I am so glad I have the NFL Channel!
I am hoping Favre pulls off the win here never been a huge fan of Favre. Though anyone that can play this good at his age deserves some major fan service.
Well, I'll be honest here. I don't technically have a preference, but I think Favre is having a great year; on the other hand, my roommate is a big Cowboys fan, so I'll probably pull for the Cowboys.
Who do I think will win? I really think Dallas is more likely to pull this one off than Green Bay, but I won't be shocked if it's the other way around.
EDIT: Speaking of the NFL Network (which I also have), what do those of you that have it think of it? Do you watch it during the off season? I love it, I turn it on plenty during the off season. They play some great stuff on there... like that series (I forgot what it was called) that detailed the best Super Bowl teams, telling their story and the story of that season. I love that stuff. It's great to have that on in the background while I'm doing other things, too.

As much as I would like to see the Pack win tonight, I just don't think they're going to do it. Dallas is 4th in the NFL in rush defense and their rushing game has been their weak point. Yes the running back had some good games, but I dont' think tonight is one of them.

I had it before I moved to the sticks of WV and I enjoyed it. It was great to watch on my nights off. I worked night shift and it was difficult to find something interesting to watch at 3:30 Monday morning. The best part about it was watching the combine workouts. I thought it was funny to watch the O and D line running the 40.

Wow... 10 minutes left in the 2nd quarter, Favre was just hit & picked off, and it sounds like he might be hurt.... That would SERIOUSLY suck for the Packers, and for Favre.
Agreed. Looking forward to the Packers/Cowboys game Thursday.
