This was definitely worth a few moments of my time to sign that. It's mildly amusing to refresh the page to see how many signatures they're received. It's went up 100 since I started writing this post.
I can guarantee this won't stop him from making movies. I think what this most likely is is some sort of publicity stunt, not unlike his boxing thing. If he can get one million people on the internet to sign a petition saying they don't like him, that means one million people on the internet know who he is and have been exposed to his movies in some sense, even if they've only heard how bad they are by other people. In short, an "any publicity is good publicity" mentality.
This was worth every second that I spent signing the petition and writing out my comment. And it really is incredible how quickly the petition is being signed. I really doubt that this will stop him, but I think that it will hit a million signatures. And that makes me happy.
Thanks for making my day.

Yeah, Yodafan's pretty much a EDH pro.
Yodafan: Official pro of one of Magic’s most casual formats.
As much as I dislike his movies, there are people out there who obviously do like them or he would not be able to continue to make so many. He gets some really good movie liscences.
I will not sign this. He may not be to my taste, but he obviously is to someone. When we saw Bloodrayne, half the people in the room liked it.
Bash Uwe really is more of an internet Meme than an actual hatred. It is cool to bash him on the internet, that is it. Signing this would be like walking up and kicking some kid in the balls in elementary school because everyone else gets a kick out of calling him names.

I won't deny that bashing Uwe is more popular on the internet than it is in real life (although, as a regular movie viewer, I do it a fair amount in real life-he really is terrible), you really need to explain the "kicking in the nuts" simile here. Because as it stands, I'm just not really sure that it makes sense. Signing something saying that you dislike something and that you think it should stop=kicking someone in the nuts? The underlying sentiment isn't even very similar (although I guess I can sort of see it), and the escalation here certainly doesn't make sense to me. I just don't get it.

No signing this is like telling the kid who won't leave you alone that you don't like them.

Most of the people signing this thing have likely not even seen any of his movies and are just doing it because they think it is cool. It is pointless.
I have a close friend who used to make Michael Jackson jokes on the net in forums and such. I showed her some MJ videos and now she is a huge fan and feels silly for laughing at him. It is much the same.

Bandwagon, etc.
I grew up with MJ and still like some of his stuff for nostalgic reasons - "back when he was still black" - but honestly the guy is creepy now.
A) He will take the petition seriously if it hits 1 Million. This would be lame. WHile I do not like his movies, people obviously do. Alot of people. As Hemmingway has said (my all time favorite quote), "If I am not pissing someone off, I am doing something wrong."
While I do not like his work, I have alot of respect for him for not waivering in his own preferences. If I do not want to see his movies, I simply will not watch them. No need to stop him from doing what he enjoys and no need to rob his fans of more of his work. It is not my place to do so, that is selfish.
B) It is another of his Viral marketting plays. In which case, signing this actually endorses him. Strike him down and he will become stronger than you could ever imagine.
Do you really want him to come out and say "As promised I will stop making movies from now on, so instead I have these TV shows in the works."

Firstly, I signed it and brought up the topic because I'm calling his bluff. Signing that, and even getting it to 1 million doesn't actually stop him making his wretched crap.
Secondly, I fear that one day he will get to a video game that I actually like. If they let him make the English language version of Parasite Eve, I'll go ape crap.
If people can protest things like abortion and pollution, then I can dang well sign a petition. And I'm not doing it because it's cool, I'm not even sure why you think that. Have you seen his movies? I've watched 2.5 of his movies and that was enough for me to sign it. I don't need people to tell me what's cool. In fact, I'm so old I'm far past cool anyway, just ask my kids. I think it's an abomination that people keep giving him money to make movies. I want you to show me someone (over the age of 12) who genuinely likes his movies, not thinks they're funny when they watch them while partaking of illegal substances.
I watched the first 5 minutes of the first bloodrayne movie and turned it of

"Wizards could put $100 bills in packs and people would complain about how they were folded."
Like I said. Half the people I saw Bloodrayne with, liked it. They really liked it. We weren't stoned or drunk or whatever.
I thought it was drivel...it hurt my sense of good taste. If it were some random vampire-chick medival gore-fest, it might have been bearable. As mentioned, sometimes a movie can be so bad it is good. But it was based on a game which mostly takes place in modern times. Take the name Bloodrayne out of the script and it is 100% unrecognizable.
I give him credit for making the movies as he wants to, as he sees them. The problem is he makes movies based on material which has their own fan-bases already. He then makes his own movie based on his own vision and interpretation and pays no heeds to the fans. Complete opposite of how mainstream Fanwank movies get made. Mainstream liscenced movies tend to be made to appeal to as many people as possible, whereas Uwe makes movies to appeal to himself.
The opposite of Uwe's movies is Spiderman 3 and X-Men 3.
There were aspects of Bloodrayne I actually liked. If I was not looking to watch a movie based on a video game character I really liked and was instead was looking for a medival vampire romp with limbs flying everywhere and lots of T and A, I probably would have really liked it honestly.
The problems with Uwe's movies is the Liscences attached to them. We see his vision for the Lisence and nothing like what we felt we should see.

A generally fair cop, although I feel that many of the people, like me, just truly dislike his movies. But I will stand by my claim that the "kicking in the nuts" thing is over the top and ultimately weakens your otherwise fine position. Perhaps a better simile would be, "For many of the people signing this petition, signing it is like when a kid says s/he doesn't like a certain food because s/he hasn't tried it."

If you go here, you can sign a petition to get him to stop making movies. He said himself that if it gets to one million signatures he'll stop.
Now I don't actually think it will get to one million, but a man can dream, can't he?
Also, this will serve as the latest bash Uwe Boll thread...cause you just can't bash him enough.

Signed.
