I'm not a diehard toy collector, but I do pick up items that I really, really like. Right now, I've got the Revoltech Macross VF-1J, the 25th Anniversary GI Joe Snakes Eyes v2 and Storm Shadow v2, and a large collection of Battlestar Galactica Titaniums on display.
Well I like to buy toys like the new Marvel legends to hang on my wall. Such as Dr. Doom and Thor which both look awesome.
I also got me a 25th Anniversary G.I.Joe Shipwreak and he looks so better than the old one.
As for Toy collecting I got so much from Transformers to Ninja Turtles. It's always cool to find cool Toys at yard sales, but if I see something cool at Wallmart or other toy stores I will buy it. Especly when I am in a rut with buying Magic.
i buy toys quite often. mostly star wars stuff, but i do dabble in others. just depends on the cool factor. i don't even know how many star wars toys i have. i've also got almost all of the 'special' potato head's. (darth tater, spud trooper, optimash prime) i don't want the spider-man one and i can't find the artoo potatoo anywhere. but yeah, toys are awesome and fun to collect! plus it gives me something to do when i'm drug into wal-mart!
I buy the big Master Grade gundam model kits and customize them with paint and detailing. Also pushing into some Five Star Stories Resin kits.

I will play what wins, not what is convenient. Personal preference is nothing, The win is all that matters. I will netdeck at every opportunity, but I will not let that stifle my creativity. Style points do not appear on tournament reports. A good deck with an incompetent pilot is nothing more than a dressed up match win. I will crush my opponent mercilessly, and expect no less from him. Victory is its own reward, The prize is just a bonus.

i still collect Mighty Max playsets. i'm about 90% complete... i need several of the smaller sets.

I would like to start with buying some of the older Transformer stuff again. Since all my stuff i had when i was growing up got thrown out by my parents. >:(
Same goes for Voltron, TMNT, and GI Joe. The most intriguing Transformer toy though, that I really wanted was a Japanese Optimus Prime that was all Blacked out, and was still in the box. Local card/collectible shop wanted like $140 for it, because the box was slightly damaged. It coulda been a lot higher. As far as the year, I believe it was back in the '80s. Back in the explosion of Transformer toys and all.

That is not dead which can eternal lie. And with strange eons even death may die.
I got a couple of Nightmare Before Xmas toys for my girlfriend (an unholy hybrid of punk, metalhead and goth girl, God I love her). I have the entire released line of Shadowrun: Duels figures (even the promo, Kerian). Apart from that I have a display case for my full collection of all Dreamblade figures ever released by WotC (I'm only missing a handful of promos), which might not count as toys but certainly is seen that way by uninitiated visitors to my den of geekitude. Of course then I can just say I won 1000$ playing with those minis over the course of a year and that I travelled all over Canada and the USA to participate in high level events with them, which in Quebec will actually impress some people rather than automatically make you look like a pathetic geek.
I've looked at other toys but only the best of the best would I ever consider to purchase, considering that it would take away cash much needed for things that I will actually play with (like Thoughtseizes) rather than use for decoration. For instance, I only ever want or need ONE Venom figure, and until I find the one that's exactly right for the sort of display I want to make then I'm not wasting my money.
My most recent toy purchase was one of the recently reissued Madballs. I really hope someone else remembers them. To me, they were second only to Garbage Pail Kids back during the grossout phase of the 80s and 90s.
When I saw them a couple weeks ago in Toys R Us, I was instantly teleported back to my childhood. I picked up and squeezed them through the package - they seem to be made from the exact same material as before, and I think they look better than ever. I almost didn't buy one, but I kept coming back to the rack on which it hung. Ultimately, I decided to purchase the new Madball Repvile as a gift for my cousin's kid, with the thought that if he didn't like it I would gladly keep it.
