What horror needs to be remade. I know halloween, friday the 13th, and some others are being remade and I agree with those but we need some different ones. So tell me which ones need to be remade.
My oppinion is the puppet master series. He needs a makeover. The original was great but it needs to be remade into a trilogy. Starting off with toulan in the wwII era and then go to the hotel and then do the second movie and let that be final. That would be awsome.
I really have to rewatch the Puppert Master series, From what i remember they were awesome, except the later ones which were just kind of broing rehashs. You're trilogy idea is a good one though. I can't think of any others at the moment.
Please, no more remakes! It seems as though every horror movie nowadays is either a sequel, a remake of a mediocre 'classic' or a remake of some japanese flick. And they all suck. The horror genre needs to be rejuvenated with fresh ideas, not buried under weak attempts to recapture our interest by remaking movies from three decades ago.
I'm really excited about the 2006 releases of the Wicker Man remake and the Last House on the Left remake.
I love horror. In fact, I get premiere passes to all of the horror releases in Columbus. I saw the Omen on 06/05/06 and it sucked nads. Maybe it would have been better if the premiere was on 06/06/06.

I'm not saying they need to remake everything just certain things that could have been ten times better. With the new halloween its not a remake but a new vision of the series. Rob Zombie says he is not using any of the previous movies at all. So its not a remake at all but a new start for the series.
With Friday the 13th it will be somewhat of a restart as well. Rember New Lines boought the rights when the series was going down hill. I think Micheal Bays company does an excellent Job.With his help that could do justice to Jason's series. For an example The remake of Texas Chainsaw Massacre. That was a great remake because there was so much more and Micheal Bay lmade the film feel dirty and grittier than the original. He also made it look like the 70's.
Ammityville was also much better due to Micheal Bay. I fell asleep to the original because it was so boring. The new one brought so much more to the story and made it more on the edge of your seat.
Recently the company said the birds will not be a remake but based on the story not Hitchcock's movie. So you can celebrate aabout that.
Now Here is a list of Movies with reasons that they need to be remade:
Puppet Master- Can do so much better with just a trilogy.
Rosemary's Baby- What a boring film needs a remake
The remake of the Texas Chainsaw Massacre was no where near as good as the original. They need to stop doing remakes and use some creativity.
The only problem with the "original" horror movies coming out anymore is that everyone thinks there needs to be humour in it. Horror is not about humour. What ever happened to the good ole days where the movies scared the **** out of you? It seems like they are afraid to revisit that era, and instead concentrate on humour, slap a couple deaths in it, and it's a horror movie. I know in retrospect, Jaws isn't that scary. But you know why the movie had everyone scared? It's because they didn't flash the villain in the viewers' faces every two seconds. One of the things that get people the most is the fear of the unknown.
I have the modern day formula for horror movies. It is as follows: 1-2 sex scenes + 2-3 sets of tits + around 5 deaths seems average + and a whole lot of "comedy" = the ****ty assed horror movies they've been coming up with. In my opinion, Freddy vs Jason could have been scary. Not **** in your pant's scary, but at least cover your eyes scary. They took 2 of the most iconic horror movie "monsters" and made a damned comedy with them. The terrible acting didn't exactly help either. I enjoyed the House on Haunted Hill remake...was it as good as the original? No. It strayed way to far from the original.
Enough of my ranting. I'll try to make more sense once I've gotten some sleep.
Well, you don't really need to remake old movies. It's just how you go aobut making the movie you're making. For example, Psycho was good, the remake not so much.

Gremlins would be amazing. One of my favorite movie series.
Yet, I'm getting tired of all these movie remakes, especially horror ones. Haven't they got anymore ideas? It seems like they don't....>.>

Halloween is not being remade...Halloween: Asylum (9) is a continuation of the series.
As for Friday the 13th, I would love the original to be remade.
I did not see the original Hills Have Eyes, but the remake was disgusting. And I am perhaps one of the most hardened people in the world. I mean, I've seen everything on rotten.com, and the traces/faces of death stuff. I downloaded all of the beheadings in Iraq, and was perfectly fine. But the remake of the Hills Have Eyes was hard to watch (notably the trailer scene). I would be willing to bet that the new version is better than the old (although I hated the movie as a whole).

Nope they are done with that. Bloody-disgusting.com has confirmed that Rob Zombie is writing and directing. The new film is a restart and will not be anything like the others so it is not a remake at all. The original series went downhill and they now knew that they needed a revision of MM. So here comes rob zombie and a better version of MM.

Nice one but I still think they are now heading in the right direction with the new Halloween.
Haha! Totally. It's a good thing the franchise is already dead, because this probably would've killed it.
And what direction would that be?
