I should probably thin it out a little. *sigh*
And I probably forgot a bunch of people...
And since TRM is too stoned to mention this, REMEMBER, this isn't the "OMGZ, I listen to generic metal, I HATE RAP! Every time I destroy an opponent's creature, I jump on the table, yell "Boo ya, you son of a *****!", rip the card in half, urinate on it, then forcefully shove it down my opponent's throat.
Needless to say, I don't have many players in my playgroup anymore.

I've never been a big rap fan and I know it's fairly cliche, but during their heyday of the early to mid '90s, Dr. Dre, Snoop Dogg, and Tu Pac all had quite a few songs I enjoyed.

"...because without beer, things do not seem to go as well."
Anywho this is truely hard for me to pick one out.... Personally I'd have to go with Ludacris because even tho he's somewhat into that whole "pop rap" thing of goin into rappin about women's booty's and other stuff he has that attitude and style that just kinda appeals to me. And its not even what I normally like... (Normally I like my rap to tell a story or about a life or something deep.. with exceptions of course).
Its definitley gotta be Mike Jones (who?) Mike Jones! He has good beats and I never get tired of his songs.
Dr. Dre is a close number 2.
And why are people saying that I like so and so cuz his rap has meaning? Don't listen to rap for meaning, listen to it because its upbeat and something to move to. All they talk about in their songs is taking hot chicks home and givin to them all night. It definitley is not the genre to listen to if you want "meaning".
If I had to pick a top three, it would be Nas, Eminem, and 2Pac.
Petear_Griffin: Lisetn to a song like "Brenda's Got a Baby" and tell me it hasn't got any meaning. The loud rap you hear all the time is only about hot chicks and money - there's a whole 'nother world of rap outside of that.

Wow. You should throw out all of your CDs that were made after about '98 or so. Then go buy some Tupac, Nas, or Biggie Smalls (Notorious B.I.G. if you don't know).
Mike Jones is horrible. He just says his name over and over again on half of his tracks. One of my friends put on his CD on the drive over to the casino, and I almost ripped my ears off.
I have listened to tupac and biggie. Most of the stuff that biggie raps about are money and hot chicks, so what are you trying to get at? And I don't like most of tupac's stuff. It is boring to me. I dont listen to rap for meaning, I listen to it because it is upbeat. If I were going to listen to something that had "meaning" I would listen to the I want to kill myself music, the screamo/emo/post hardcore/whatever it is. (The reason I say this is because most of my friends listen to that stuff and the main reason they listen to it is for the "meaning").
@Erasmus I understand that there is another world of rap out there, and most of it is not on the radio. I have a personal motto, and that is if its not on the radio, there is probably a really good reason for it.
If that's all you're looking for in music then I guess you're just hopeless. If you're still listening to this meaningless pop rap when you're 30 then you might have a problem. I used to listen to all the trendy music when I was in high school too, but after a few years you'll probably hear something that really connects with you and you'll know how much better music can be.

I'm not really that big into rap. Since when has MTV had anything even remotely close to "Rock"? I'm genuinely asking too, I don't watch MTV anymore.
Well, they show a lot of pop punk and metal stuff I guess, and stuff like Coldplay...Greenday, SoaD, etc.

And of the real rappers, I'd have to say Snoop Dog, though my knowledge in the area is lacking.
