Quote from Prizm »
Doesn't America have the right to be a bit self-centered? I mean, American culture is THE dominant culture in the world. Every country is hugely affected by America economically, culturally, and politically. Whether or not you think that's a good thing, it would explain why we're self-centered, wouldn't it?
"It should be legal for two consenting adults to agree to challenge each other to duel and fight a Death Match."

I take issue with the wordings of many of the questions on these tests. Exempli gratia, on the political compass test I bumped into a question something like "What's good for large corporations is always good for the public." Were that word "always" replaced with "usually," or even not there at all, I'd agree with the statement. But that one word totally changes the logical structure of how I'm asked to respond, such that if I can find one instance of the betterment of the corporation not equalling the betterment of the public (which I can, of course), I must disagree, which, if the quiz assumes that my disagreement is for reasons more general than semantic, might well result in being scored to the left of where I "actually" am.
I might also ask what the purpose of these quizzes is. Green Arrow mentioned something about wanting to know "where people stand," but I wonder why such information is relevant. On any given issue I choose to discuss, one can be reasonably sure that I stand where I say I stand; and applying a label like "libertarian" or "Republican" to me can only muddy the waters by assigning to me by association other stances on nonrelated issues that I don't necessarily hold, yet might change your view of me accordingly. If you thought I was a die-hard racist, for example, because you knew I was a Republican, and also knew that all Republicans belong to the Klan, would you be more or less likely to take my thoughts on a non-race-related issue seriously?

Really though: when I've taken tests similar to these (haven't taken these ones), they usually either give degrees for each question, or ask the same question multiple times with different wordings.
