i feel this deck really wants Promised Kannushi. it creates a loop with your Forked-Branch Garami, generating an extra card returned. also it acts as an extra way to return your win cons.
I've always had the crazy idea of building a shapeshifter (changeling) deck that uses coat of arms to make all my creatures huge and causes weird interactions in multiplayer.
If you get a chance to play around with more Kamigawa shenanigans, would you consider making a 5 color Zubera deck? I had one and they are really really fun!
First off, this is the first time I've ever read an article of your's. I must say, I was quite impressed by your deck building skills and the flavor in which you write/explain your reasonings.
Loved the deck. I was actually thinking about how to combine kami and inn spirits into a powerful tribe to be reckoned with. This deck is powerful in multiplayer. And well, I'm going to have to at least play test it. Looks like a blast!
Seeing how this is my first time being on here, I'm going to list some ideas I have been thinking about but have been struggling with...
debt of loyalty, and thought that would be an interesting card to play around with. maybe try some theft in w, g, or b(even though it has a few cards i know of. they just happen to thieve from the gy) instead of using u or r.
sisters of stone death I think it would be one of the coolest bombs to drop on the table. whether playing mp or 1v1. (maybe even put debt of loyalty AND sisters in the same deck...)
leyline of singularity. I had a control deck built around this card, but I wanted to see how you could build for either mp or 1v1 but only use 1 of's for all your non land perms. that is, aside from leyline so it's always on the field slowing people down while you easily build board.
some sort of pheonix trbal deck would be cool. my friend tried and it just tanked.
or the most challenging deck i've ever attempted to make... ooze garden I tried ltb effects and even ooze tribal. I just could not get it to work. the guy at the store even laughed when i bought the playset and went "if you get this to work, come back and show me. i'll give you 100 dollars. I tried making a deck around it and just couldnt. it's the worst card ever made."

Have you tried a deck with stuff that's got a lot of power for cheap but with downsides? Arc Runner, Hellspark Elemental, Blitz Hellion, Blistering Barrier, Crumbling Collosus, Cosmic Larvae? Or combo with unearth or temporary pump effects (like Berserk - target creature doubles power for 1GG seems okay to me), or effects that make you not keep creatures. Then maybe jump a few global pump effects like Muraganda Petroglyphs and boom pow! It seems to combo pretty well with Rakka Mar as well; make the dude, swing with it, then turn it into an Ooze afterwards.
Alternatively, you could just use it as a sacrifice outlet that keeps a dude so you don't actually get card disadvantage. That means you can stack effects like Fecundity and Foster to get you tonnes of card advantage while you don't actually lose cards, or play controlly stuff with Grave Pact which kills their dudes while keeping yours. Use dudes like Tukatongue Thallid, which gives you two sacrifices for the price of one.
Yeah, that deck seems like it could be cool... someone should put it together. Hint.
i been reading some of your articles and i have something that might be of interest you or others out there. made a deck i call Turbo Demon that i would like to share. its currently standard, but its got all that it needs. got lucky on scoring most of it, cuz its not cheap, but still, here goes: playset (x4) viridian emmisary, fertile ground, thats the main chunk of turbo, along with 2 rites of flourishing 2 heartless summoning and 1 quicksilver amulet. what is all that pumping out? well how bout 2 runescar demons,1 reaper of the abyss, 1 carnifex demon, 1 chancellor of the dross, 1 garruks horde and 1 massacre worms just for kicks. seems insane to pull of but works very well with morbid fillers like 2 skirsdag high preist and 2 demon mail halberk. heres where it gets really tricky tho, smaller creatures can benifit from heartless summoning also like 2 phyrexian ragers and 2 gravediggers.(also to point out u can play the emmisaries for 1 and they die immediatly fetchin a land and activating morbid) theres even an infinate combo with 2 glissa the traitor and 2 perilous myrs to kill all creatures with toughness of 2 off board. heartless summoning makes the myrs free and they die instantly, dealin 2 dmg to a creature opponent controls and if that creatures dies then the myr goes right back to your hand to play for free again!! throw in 2 prey upon and 2 alter reaps for mobid activation/removal/card draw and i got 2 death-hooded cobra just to instantly kill an attackin flier that may come at me. may be just me, but this sounded to be right up your alley. so....what do ya think?
I love your articles. The way you narrate your deckbuilding and your games are truly fun to read. While some people are finding it difficult to build decks, you make it seem really easy. Great job.
Would it be possible for you to build some duel decks? Just two decks that are very balanced and very interesting to play against each other. Themes could be the usual tribal (plants vs zombies? i mean treefolk vs zombies), pw vs pw, legend/s vs legend/s, heck we could even have enchantments vs artifacts.
That's Stairc for you! He keep showing us things we had never imagined possible!

This was a great read. It's nice to see that somebody other than me likes the Kamigawa spirits. I have to suggest making a deck based around Mirror Mad Phantasm.
I love these articles. This deck looks hella fun, and I would LOVE to see the snake deck come together. As an interesting thought, now that Innistrad is out, maybe an eventual deck evolution of this could be fun to see. Keep them coming, man, Kudos.

Both times that I have read your articles I have been utterly impressed with the skill that you possess. These decks are just plain amazing. I have a request. I'm trying to get my local group into Commander and I would love to see something impressive that will goad them into playing in this fun format. I would like a Commander out of the Alara block, specifically the Zombies. I've seen countless Thraximundar EDH decks and I would actually really like to see a Sedris, the Traitor King EDH deck. Would this be at all possible?
Since Veteran's Day is coming up in America, I think you should make a Red, White, and Blue deck. Featuring merfolk. Cuz they are proud to be 'mer'ican.
I really like your work, not for the actual decks you build, but the fact that you show the decision making process really well, it provides insight in how to become a better deck builder.
I would really like to see a rouge standard deck that really focuses on meta decisions and sideboarding. However standard isnt well developed yet so maybe left that idea for now and do a EDH deck please.

Smile your day could be worse, so I did smile and it was worse.
Love it... I've been messing with Spirits since Kamigawa and loved the story line for that whole set. This makes me want to break out my Spirit/Arcane deck again.
Glad you all enjoyed it so much! It was a ton of fun to write.
Also, it seems I'm going to have to write a little about EDH in my next article. I just came back from a casual EDH tournament where I ran an EDH deck I literally threw together in under eleven minutes out of entirely crappy commons and uncommons (with the exception of the general and a single Draining Whelk) that happened to be lying around. Somehow it did really, really well against decks whose entire boards by turn 4 were each worth more than the cost of my entire deck put together.
That doesn't work because Promised Kannushi isn't a Spirit.

As for a request for future articles, I'd personally like to see a Storm deck built for multiplayer that doesn't just combo out for the win.

I would love to see you do something with Rooftop Storm and Haakon, Stromgald Scourge.
