This thread is for the discussion of my latest article, Cranial Insertion: Goodbye, EDH! . We would be grateful if you would let us know what you think, but please keep your comments on topic.
If my 3/2 creature who is a 6/2 thanks to O-Naginata were to get hit with a Disorient, would the equipment fall off or stay on?
A: It'll fall off. O-Naginata's "can only be attached" doesn't just apply when you try to attach it, it's a condition that's continually checked, much like an equipped creature suddenly gaining protection from artifacts. If your 3/2 has less than 3 power, he'll drop the O-Naginata.
Would the O-Naginata fall off if the creature get hit by a -3/-0 effect instead? With the bonus of O-Naginata, it will stay 3/2, but I am doubtful about it.
No it would not. It still has a power of 3 or greater (it takes its own bonus into account), so it will remain attached.

Scientists have calculated that the chance of anything so patently absurd actually existing are millions to one. But magicians have calculated that million-to-one chances crop up nine times out of ten.
":symtap:: Target teammate gains control of this creature. Activate this ability only any time you could cast a sorcery."
Is there a rules post for emperor somewhere. Apparently, based on that rule, my playgroup has been doing some things wrong. I've tried various searches, but can't find any official rules.

It’s the kind of action Chopin would conduct if say, he were conducting ninja warriors.
804.1. The Emperor variant always uses the deploy creatures option, and it can be used in other variants that allow players to compete in teams. Multiplayer formats in which players compete as individuals usually don't use this option.
804.2. Each creature has the ability "{T}: Target teammate gains control of this creature. Activate this ability only any time you could cast a sorcery."
Of course, in casual play, you can use whatever rules you want, so you don't have to use the deploy creatures option if you don't want to.

Regarding the spellskite question, couldn't he in theory change the target of the splinter twin to spellskite to avoid that situation since aura's are spells that target on the stack?

Yes, but the question was whether spellskite could interrupt the combo after splinter twin has landed -- in which case the answer is no.
I still can't figure out why they jettisoned the DCI's expanded name. Which one of "Duelists'", "Convocation", and "International" no longer applied, exactly? (And whichever one DIDN'T apply, why not replace it with something that WAS accurate, and adjust the acronym to fit?)
Of course, this is coming from someone who always pronounces the g in "Los Angeles" as an "h" sound, rather than a "j" sound...
Q: I just got a Riptide Replicator, and have been toying with it. Is there a limitation to what I can name for a creature type? Can I make up names or use Jedi? Or can I declare Mountain as a critter type for the token, and then Maelstrom Pulse it?
A: There is indeed a limitation, and they're all listed in section 204.3k of the Comprehensive Rules. That's the rule that states all the creature types in the game, and you need to pick a creature type that exists in Magic.
Looked it up in the comp rules. Apparently this doesn't work either :/
Nope. Forest isn't a creature type; subtypes always correlate to the type they go with, so on Dryad Arbor, Forest is the land subtype and Dryad is the creature type.

Based on this, would I be able to choose Forest and Maelstrom Pulse it?
