River of Tears always had a nickname in my shop: "River of Wrong Mana."
Also, regarding Stifle, when is the best time to StifleAncestral Vision? When they first suspend it? When its coming off suspend? And how do you do it properly (what does the stack look like)?
this is going to be some akward praise, but here goes:
shin, I don't always completely agree with what you say on the forums, and I know I'm probably not alone. however, I always try out your suggestions even if I think they're flawed, and I never fail to smile when I see you've wrote up an article. you've got a good thing going. keep up the work, man.

Thanks, Heroes of The Planes! You guys are great!
Actual Truth:
"You heard it here folks:

I "acquired" the sprites at GP LA from an individual who does alterations professionally. If you would like to get the email address (not sure if putting it up would be spam or even if this is) message me at MTGProPlayer on AIM.
Decent article, but you really mentioned the sleep thing a bit much. We get it - you were slightly handicapped and tired. I'm sure you weren't the only one there that was tired or running on less than a full 8 hours of sleep.
That said, well done and good luck at your next event!
I actually sat next to you during one of the rounds. It was when you played a second spellstutter, and your opponent asked you if they were fake. My oppenent then commented why the heck would you wait to ask that question till the second sprite, not the first.
I also agree that 9 rounds is a terrible experience and makes for a very long day.
Great job I really liked the article. I actually didn't think he overemphasized the lack of sleep. He mentioned it more early on before the article started but I felt like that was more of an entertaining anecdote type thing rather than saying "oh if only I had more sleep I would have done better."
The only other time he really mentioned it was at the end of the article and I thought that was warranted as when you're feeling awful it stands out in your mind a lot more. He was nearing the end of the day by then so it's understandable. Although, I do find it surprising how few people get any sleep before a tournament. It seems like every article about a tournament report the writer hardly gets any sleep. I'm not sure if I could do that.

Was it the same one that was bounced and replayed, or a different one? What? I'm saying if the first one looked legit, but the second one looked off.... maybe?
I really liked the article. Although In like the first few matches, you sided out Engineered explosives every time. I know it's great against a few decks, but you may be better off keeping this in the 'board...

I didn't play against an aggro deck until round seven. That doesn't mean I should take out all my aggro-hating cards, huh?

What? Why would I take out the cards for the aggro MU from my MD just because I might not play against it? What if I do? This is pretty basic theory...
Either way, well written article. Just one question: What is "natch"? (You use it a couple times.) Is it a spin on biznatch?
Naturally.
Again, well written article, and congrats on your performance.
Thank you.

Dude, next time I recommend like, those trucker caffeine pills they sell at gas stations. As long as you take one every four hours, there's not crash (until you stop taking them, whereupon you die)
Gratz on the event. Heard about it from our earlier chat, glad to hear details on how you did and the tourney itself.
Of course, recommending Affinity doesn't help when you blow it out 2-0 (forget which round) without playing Grudge... but regardless, Fae seems to be a really powerful choice, given of course a competent (or talented) pilot. Not putting you down.

Well, you asked for a cheaper deck.
And, let's face it...the Affinity player I played had terrible luck.

Great article Shin! I plan on playing a very similar deck for the PTQ season as well. Do you plan on attending any PTQ's on the east cost? I should be at 4-5 of them with my team. It would be cool to meet/play you.
Good article, although the stuff about your night before the tournament really wasn't necessary.
Regarding the play where he Cryptic Commanded your guy EOT rather than holding it back to counter your counter for his Vision, I'm pretty sure he did that because when you Cliqued him, you took Sower, telling him that you had a counter for the Visions and another counter for the Command. He thought you would have taken Command had you not had a counter for it, so he just gave up what he thought would be a futile counter war and tried to get the most out of his Command. This was not what you were trying to do, of course, but you accidentally made a pretty good mind play with your Clique. On a separate note, I'm not sure why you took the Sower and not the Command with Clique, but I don't know the entire board position so it's hard to be certain you misplayed.
Game 3 you failed to mention the fact that when i had a storm count of 15 with 20some cards left in deck, because of me trying to finish before time i played a ponder off desire and took a blue off my mana pool, putting me at 5 mana in my pool instead of 6 with desire in my hand for the win because of storm count/cards left in library would have been impossible to lose. To make matters worse we kept on recounting to see cuz i thought i should have 6 in my pool but we couldnt figure it out, a spectator told the judge about me removing a blue off my score sheet from my pool when i didnt actualy spend it on anything and that i should have it in my pool. After recounting it at least 6 times the judge never stepped in even though he saw we had a misunderstanding over the whole situation. To make matters worse, when the match ended the guy sitting next to you who seemed to be your friend started to explain the mana thing, and you gave him a dirty glare, I expect that you knew the whole time what was going on. And it wasnt slow playing, it was the fact that i went off three times game 1. And my lack of experience with the deck was me not playing in a constructed tournament in about 6 months due to me taking a break from the game. I played 5 games the night before against fae and that was my entire testing and the only games of constructed i had played in 6 months. Regardless i was coming into the round at 5-0 (10-1 in games). I dont know who you think you are calling me out on slow play.I dont know if there is a way to get someone banned from writing on here, but making false statements about gameplay, and accusing someone of slowplaying because of a game one that took thirty minutes and i went off 3 times, doesnt seem like too much time. On top of that when i was told about the ponder mana right after the match, you looked at me with no look of suprise in your face, and quickly picked your things up. You knew the whole time and that is very shady. But to say that this cost you a top 8 is the most rediculous statement i have ever heard, and the reason why players like you will never be good, think about it this way based on how much mana i should of had in my pool i should have won game 3,which would have game me a match win and you a loss, so time was not a factor at all considering that desire play happened before time was called. You (possibly cheated) if you did know that i had an extra mana in my pool, and if that is the case congrats on the 6 points you got off me because of the draw, Nice Rating(almost as good as your play). And if you are going to talk about my inexperience then why dont you mention that i top 8ed the 9 round ptq(ptq's are not an accomplishment unless you win) even thought i have top 8ed 11 of my last 14 ptq's, GET ON MY LEVEL! Have you ever top 8ed anything lol? Have a pro tour feature match? Make money at a pro tour? Didnt think so lol. But i mean thanks for playing you did help contribute to the amount of packs i got for making top 8 and i thank you for that. Of all the excuses saying that a draw when you are 5-0 in a 9 round ptq cost you a top 8 is beyond crying and making excuse for you not being able to win when it counts. I had the same record as you after that round even though with the mana from ponder i would have won the match. So maybee what cost you top 8 was karma for getting a draw in a match that you lost,or maybee your terrible play cost you, or maybee you were too busy crying about the match going to time even though it should have finished right before the 5 turns started. In the end Justice prevailed and you yet again did not top 8. Ohh and for the sleep thing i didnt read all that but i assume it was you crying due to lack of sleep. I did not get home till 430am,then followed that up with listening to fresh new lil wayne tracks till sometime after 6am,and getting 2 and a half hours of sleep. Also if we both had the same record after round 6 then how did i top 8 and not you? Wheels fell off huh brah? When i heard from someone that there was an article written about me by some noname trying to accuse me of slowplaying when that did not happen at all i was extremely shocked. But i mean if pretendland is what you want to live in, thats fine just dont write articles filled with false accusations. And since you knew about the mana thing, why did you not mention it in the match description? Also good job writing a tourny report on top 16ing a ptq, whats next the tourny report of the 2nd place fnm finish? Thanks for the dishonest remarks though, i really appreciate it, ill be looking forward to seeing you miss many top 8s in the future.

1. I said you played slow, and you did. You told me you had little experience with the deck, and I wasn't a dick about it because of that. I know the Fae MU for you is awkward in the first place, so I wasn't that bothered by the fact that you had to take extra time for your turns. I could have just said "oh, this guy was a jerk and just cheated me out of a win." You hadn't played in a while, and that was totally fine. I didn't call a judge, did I?
2. You didn't have the mana in your mana pool, dude, and that was the freaking point. I glared at my friend because he was trying to discuss our match while it was still going, and I didn't want to get warned because he wouldn't shut up.
3. The fact that you spent the last half of your post getting bent out of shape and flaming me is pretty pathetic, so I suppose I'll take the high road and not bother with it. I knew going into the match that you were good and an accomplished player, but clearly you lack the style and respect that players like Nassif, LSV, Chapin, etc have. They don't go around making arguments that are nothing more than "lolz I'm better than you." That's why you will never be as good as them. I mean, seriously dude? Your entire post was just you "crying," wasn't it? The same thing you accused ME of? You've proved nothing from this "appearance" except that you're exactly the kind of player everyone hates.
I actually thought you were a pretty nice guy to play, but you're just another "good" player with an attitude. Awesome. Don't worry "bro," I won't be mentioning the Great Jon Swearingen ever again. I wouldn't want to ever make him look bad, you know.
EDIT:
But seriously, I'm sorry that you took this so harshly.
I knew you were slow playing (though not intentionally, which is why I didn't call a judge), but I didn't really make a big deal out of it. I was infinitely happier with our tie than with, say, the tie I had earlier against a deck/player like Martyr. I'd be a little more sincere with that apology if you didn't make such a rude and back-handed post, but I suppose I can't live in a perfect world.
The ponder thing did happen, someone who watched the entire match, saw that game saw it happen and got a judge. I am a fairly nice guy but I dont like it when people say that i slow play, when A. that didnt happen, and B. It was irrelevent because i had the win if the judge would have stepped in, I even talked to the head judge after the round and he said that the judge didnt have to, but in the situation he probualy should have stepped in and cleared things up. The point is, i dont liek being talked badly about in an article by some random scud who writes tourny reports about geting top 16 lol GRATZ! GET ON MY LEVEL! then we can talk

Eh, budget was secondary to deck power, unless "deck power" = buy 4 copies of any $25 cards and throw them into a pile.
And yeah, that quad land draw must've pissed him off a fair amount. I'd say poor guy, but he's playing Affinity, so he knows that already.
