Thanks guys, I got a wonderful surprise in the mail the other day. I almost forgot about the Maze of Ith Tom was sending me. I recently learnt how to do smoke on Photoshop, so I just had to do it on this photo.
I’ll reply on the comment contest after I’ve listened to the ‘Cast.

There's no penalty for failing to sacrifice a Homonculus.
Thanks for another podcast guys, i actually learned something about drafting, and in know that ressurection is the only reason to play white
ok, so i would've got the squires, except he only has 10 for $3.10...
So i think I'd have to go with the cards to better my wishboard:
reflecting pool 10
fire-lit thicket 9
firespout 1
everlasting torment 3.5
I haven't heard the podcast yet (lately it takes me days, I hear a part in the office, someone or something interrupts me, then I hear a part, and the cycle starts over again).
But answer to the question would be: Promo cards. Normal set cards aren't so hard to come by, but promos are very hard to get (at least in my country). Plus, using it for promo cards would make it easier to remember how I got them
Great podcast, it sucks everyone wasn't there, but it was still great
25 dollars in cards is such an amazing thing to fantasize about, and trust me, I have been fantasizing about it ever since I heard this podcast.
I found out that I would be able to complete all my decks (4 of them) with 25 dollars, and have more than two decks to play with (1 FNM and 1 Casual). Hahaha
Oona, Queen of the Fae $5
I’ve been wanting this card ever since it came out. I have a strange attraction to faeries. Ever since Urza’s Legacy brought me half nakey to fully nakey faeries, I was hooked on them. So it’s fitting to want the queen honey mother of all the faeries. (Plus, I need it to complete my faerie collection)
Reaper King $2 Golgari Signet $.30 Selesnya Signet $.30
These I need to complete a scarecrow EDH deck I’ve been putting together. Don’t laugh, I really don’t have any Golgari and Selesnya Signets
Warren Weirding $.30
3 Weirding Shaman @$1 $3
4 Mogg War Marshal @$.20 $.80
These are needed to make a casual/ possible FNM goblinpact deck. After heeding the advice of the Monday Night Magic before the last one, I watched that Deckbuilders podcast about the deck, and though it looked mighty awesome to play.
And plus, Mogg War Marshals are like ketchup, you can never go wrong with more of them! (especially when you somehow don't have any...)
I’m an avid collector of Cloud Sprites, but there wasn’t any on rancoredelf!
This made me sad, because that is the one collection I need to expand the most.
However, there is another collection I have that needs more expanding, and that is my Assault Zeppelid collection. Ever since I drafted Dissention the first time and came across this card, I had a strange attraction to it. I mean, flying and trample is so random and cool together (how do you trample when flying?? I don't know, but its awesome!), so whenever I drafted, I found myself picking these when I didn’t have a better pick. So…
27 Assault Zeppelid @$.20 $5.40
That’s what I would get with 25 dollars

Again a great show guys, kinda sucks that Tom couldn't make it this week D:
So if I were to get $25 credit in the bank that is rancoredelf.com I would probably get something like the newer lands from Shadowmoor or possibly a Pithing Needle since I've never owned one in my life, however geting bulk Omnibian for my ongoing collection of cards almost equal to Squires power would be teh tech. I mean come on, who wouldn't want to turn the most expensive and powerful creatures in magic into frogs! Akroma? Bam, frog! Tarmogoyf? Bam, frog! Oh noes, a SQUIRE!!!! Man, I might have to enter scoop phase on that one D: /sarcasm
Lol...
if i were to get 25$$ i think that i would get 10.71** shinny new turniment leagle dragons in the "From the Vault: Dragons" thingie. um that dragony goodness sounds so nice.
if the peeps @ rancor do not carry the awsumness that is 15 shiny dragons id mostlikly go for:
great show guys , i know what i would buy even thought i have my 4 , bitterblossom you can trade them for just about anything now , expect for goyf i guess . but for 25 you probably can only get 1
Wow! $25! What would I get?
Well, I could finish my GW agro deck AND my red deck wins...
Or possibly grab some rare lands that would help my manabases for the next few years..
Buy into some precons or boosters and have a sweet torny with my friends...
Or 1/2 a goyf....
Long time summary reader, first time actual listener. It's a pretty great show overall, with a bunch of cool listener participation....I loved the unedited part with Gavin leaving....it's hilarious. It made me laugh so hard, my dachshund fell off my lap.
Anyway, on to the question of what would I do with $25 credit to RE.com? I'd probably help my wife finish off her Millfolk (Merrow-Milling) deck that she's been building. Usually, she's the one searching all over the place to find the cards I need to round out my decks that I come up with (even having bought $50.00 worth of cards when we were dating), because she's a freakin' awesome wife like that. But this time around, I've been trying to help her find some Jaces for her deck, but no one in the area seems to have them/want to trade them. Money's tight right now, as we're saving up for a baby due in three weeks (she's pregnant and helping me run events at the local comic store!), so just straight out buying them on an auction site isn't going to work out. I guess, in final, I'd help my wife finish off the deck with three Jaces and maybe a Cryptic Command. Oh and picking up that last Drowner of Secrets she needs. It's mainly a casual deck, but she really likes it. It'd make an awesome suprise for an amazing wife who's just done so much for her Magic-Playing Husband.

I'm of two minds about the From the Vault: Dragons promotional thing that WotC is selling. On one hand, I think that it is aimed at, and will probably appeal to, a certain group of players, so in that sense it's fine. But on the other hand, the price tag is a bit steep and I would have much prefered to have seen another Duel Masters edition. Also, had the creature type been Angels rather than Dragons, I'd be wiping drool off the keyboard right now.
As for this week's contest: I'd use the $25 from Rancored Elf to fill in the missing spaces in my pet Landstill deck so that I can compete in an upcoming Legacy tournament in my area. My wife and I are expecting our first baby in the fall so I can't justify spending any money on magic cards. I've sold off a lot of my collection to help pay the bills, so the list of cards I have for trading is pretty anemic. This would really help the deck go from zero to hero without denting the dented bank account.
Wow that question kinda reminds me of the time I wrote about writing about an essay for a final. Gee! With 25 dollars I could, like not only get half a Tarmogoyf, but there's those 100 squires, and heck I could even get another $25 gift certificate to Rancordelf.com, and hey! If I get enough of those they could get their sales way up! (although I imagine their'd be shipping...) well anyway, thanks again for the cast. The ahoy audio podcast should be getting up soon...maybe, and by the way making an episode of the "Proffessors" (actually pronounced professors, spelled that way for some ridiculous reason...okay I had wanted everyone that, when they searched my name would only result with that...pretty stupid huh?) and yes Derek making an episode takes anywhere between 15 and over 9000! hours a week to do. Cheers!

We interrupt this post to bring you a special news bulletin. I will be attending Pro Tour Hollywood! Yes, that is right, after much deliberation, working on my schedule, evaluating costs and time investment, I will be there! Feel free to come up and say hi. I'm going to try and buy something to record with and get some recordings from the site to share when I return. I don't know if it's too late to get any interviews, I've sent off an e-mail, but I'll try and get something for you guys. For those that have never seen me, there's a picture in my profile.
Awesome news Gavin! Even just an audio-blog of the exciting bits of the tour would be great
Thanks for the podcast guys! I laughed out loud when it suddenly became Derekcast. I agree with you both on Shadowmoor limited, this ain't your grandma's signalling. I've been forcing colour combinations based on my first few bomb picks, and so far it's worked out okay as there is just so much of the set available to whichever colours I've chosen! It seems to me that White is the strongest colour, or near to it, with Ballynock Cohort, Armored Ascension, Silkbind Faerie, and the like. Not to mention most of the removal in the set!
What would I do with $25 store credit? My 4th Bitterblossom. Boring, I know, but I can't justify spending my own money on it

I think Red/Black is really strong in Shadowmoor. I might be TOTALLY WRONG, but it will be a fun deck to build!
Black Powa::o
I've won a few times with a mono black, but it wasn't because of wither. I agree that it is a weak mechanic by itself, but when combine with cards like blowfly, corrupt, dusk urchins, ashenmoor cohort, gravelgill (the 3/4 persist), faerie macabre, etc... you can get a pretty powerful deck!

I'm a re-n00b.
Pay no attention to views expressed in posts prior to 2013. I didn't know.
Clearly, any order must begin with Rancor ($3, $9 if you want the promo version) plus Elf ($.50, unless you want foil at $5).
But seriously, my method was to go through the recent sets (Lorwyn/Morningtide/Shadowmoor) and pick through what might be good cards. I skipped a lot of cards because they were too costly (Cryptic Command makes me cry at $15 each, when I could really use four... also the vast majority of lands are too pricey, even with $25... seems not worth it to me to spend most of that on a whole two lands), mostly going with $1-3 cards. Playsets of each took me up over $200 anyway. Ergh. And that's just for a few casual decks! Cut cut cut, don't *really* need Mind Shatters (though cool!), or these elementals... ok, $125. Hrm. Cut some more, Scapeshift is amazing but I have no deck for it... these fairies are far too expensive... I require some Avalanche Riders but they will have to wait... down to $75. Ok, now to cut this in third. Ergh. Do I finish a Merfolk deck (minus Cryptic Commands, of course), or do I make a Giant (minus Countryside Crusher, of course) deck?
I have the choice...
Merfolk?
4 Wanderwine Hub @ $5 = $20
4 Ponder @ $.50 = $2
4 Oblivion Ring @ $.75 = $3
=$25
Giants?
4 Ancient Amphitheater @ $2.50 = $10
4 Cragganwick Cremator @ $1 = $4 (I really, really want to throw a Greater Gargadon at someone's head.)
4 Guttoral Response @ $1 = $4
1 Brion Stoutarm @ $2.50 = $2.50
4 Cream of the Crop @ $1 = $4 (Not for Giants, but I have extra dollars!)
1 Ponder @ $.50 = $.50 (I need it anyway!)
= $25
Leaning towards Giants, simply because I get more cards... though Merfolk is still tempting. Either way, $25 both buys a lot... and yet so very little. Ah well.
(Also, people should check if what they're getting is even sold! There aren't any Bitterblossoms even for sale, it seems.)
i would probably get two wilt leaf liege as they are awesome and complement mc hammer nicely. The other 5 would would spend on stuff to complete my eightpost.
Errr 25 bucks eh? Well I need to fill out my playset of thoughtseize so I would get 1 or those, and then probably a playset of Kitchen Finks. That would make for a nice little package. I think it would slip over by a dollar but I would cover that myself.
so
1 Thoughtseize
4 Kitchenfinks
I'm going to be playing in Block PTQs at PT LA, any of you all going to be around at the event? I think I might be able to recognize Gavin from his little fish bowl video, I'll say hi if I see him...
Lets see... $25 store credit...
Why, with that kind of money I could bathe in Bog Hoodlums' for the rest of my life!
Or I could use it to bribe my brother into not telling my dad that I used his laptop to download what I thought was a free Magic Program but turned out to be a heaping of viruses/trojans. Not kidding on that one, any techies please PM me so you can AIM how to get rid of this crap. However, knowing me I'll probably do something stupid... I wonder what a foil card looks like after 5 minutes in my microwave using the popcorn setting!
IF there is any in stock, i'd love a foil reflecting pools,(plus theres a guy here wants foil and no one has one[i wouldnt trade it tho] its fun to taunt him)
also oversoul of dusk would be nice because i gave mine away to some casual kids that wanted it (free) and i didnt know they would sky rocket

I'm card poor & trying to finish up an red/black deck. Here is my buy list for the $25 bones:
Ashenmoor Liege X 3 = $10.50
Din of the Fireherd x 3 = $3.00
Kulrath Knight x 4 = $2.40
Murderous Redcap x 3 = $3.00
Graven Cairns x 1 = $5.00
Spiteful Visions x 1 = $1.25

Errr 25 bucks eh? Well I need to fill out my playset of thoughtseize so I would get 1 or those, and then probably a playset of Kitchen Finks. That would make for a nice little package. I think it would slip over by a dollar but I would cover that myself.
so
1 Thoughtseize
4 Kitchenfinks
I'm going to be playing in Block PTQs at PT LA, any of you all going to be around at the event? I think I might be able to recognize Gavin from his little fish bowl video, I'll say hi if I see him...
Curses, foiled again! In that case I'd pick up some of the guys for my new EDH Experiment Kraj deck - cards like Ancient Silverback, Advanced Hoverguard, Blockade Runner Anthroplasm and Dragon Blood! My current deck has Ertai, the Corrupted who is rather passive as a general, I want a big mutant creature (with optional shroud, regeneration, arbitrarily large size and unblockability!) to punch up everyone else for my new deck!
I wonder what a foil card looks like after 5 minutes in my microwave using the popcorn setting!
also oversoul of dusk would be nice because i gave mine away to some casual kids that wanted it (free) and i didnt know they would sky rocket
