After a year and a half tenure as the Poetry Running Contest host, I have finally decided to step down from my post. My performance as PRC host has been slipping and I feel it is to the benefit of the contest to find new blood.
The purpose of this thread is to search for a new PRC Host. The duties of a PRC Host include:
- Opening and ending submissions of poems for each round of the contest
- Creating a new PRC thread each week
- Updating the PRC submission thread OP with the winner(s) and winning poem(s) of each round
- Monitoring voting to check for those who have not voted or cast invalid votes
- Notifying the Personal Writer moderator to reward a trophy when a user has won three rounds of the contest
- Sending "Remember to Vote!" reminders to users who have not voted late into the round as well as "Introduction" PMs to new PRC users
Now I realize that holding this position may seem like fun at first; but, it actually requires a lot of responsibility and hard work. There have been many PRC hosts in the past that have been unable to commit to creating a new thread every week despite have the appropriate number of poems.
It has been my utmost priority in my time as PRC host to put up a new thread every week when it is needed. The result is that I have hosted ~40% of all the PRC rounds despite the PRC having been around for 4.5 years. Whoever replaces me should possess strong devotion to the Personal Writing Community.
I ask any users interested in the position of PRC Host to PM the Personal Writing moderator, Sam111111. I will hand over the PRC host replacement decision making to him as he is the ultimate authority of the Personal Writing subforum.
As a former PRC Host I have to agree with the above. It's hard work. We've been fine-tuning the contest to make sure everything is fair under the heavens.
I am not willing to take up the contest again, because I have work to do.
However; If no candidate shows up in the appropriate time, I will be the PRC host again, under Sam111111111's approval.
Sentiment, thanks for your long term of service. It's weird to think you aren't running it anymore [like it was weird when Guilan quit!].
We had more than one applicant for the position [surprisingly? Not?] but after a few days of waiting, I've decided to use my mighty mod powers to hand the contest over [with sentiment's apparent blessing] to Zelderex.
Godspeed, good luck, so on and so forth.

my mouth is full of winsome lies -
and eyes are full of death besides
but luckily the soul is wise -
it sees beyond my blindness and
forced failure makes a better guise,
so as i come again alive,
it feels like life's a decent plan
Thanks guys, for the compliments. I think I'll miss running the contest. I'm glad that the position of PRC contest host has garnered more interest than in the past.
Congratulations, Zelderex!!! Good luck as the new PRC host.

I'll probably need it all the luck I can get. I'll get started setting up the new thread.
