Welcome to the Battle for Earth! Extradimensional Aliens have decided to use our planet for their amusement, shifting creatures and robots from across the multiverse to ours. Your job is to determine the winners.
Combatants are from specific universes, and while parallel versions of themselves may exist, the specific version referenced in included in parentheses after the combatant's name. All machines requiring pilots will generally have their pilots named in their summaries, and those pilots are assumed to be in the machines. However, the Extraliens have implanted thoughts of aggressiveness in all of the combatants, and they must fight if the Extraliens pit them against one another. They have also been given knowledge of the strengths and weaknesses of those they fight against.
Write-ups are appreciated, as elements from the best write ups will be included in the story conclusion. Voting can be done like TOC, you may select a poll option and/or post your choice. All in-text votes MUST BE IN BOLD.
Round 1 fights will end Saturday, September 7th at midnight.
The Hydra (Disney’s Hercules)
Height: ~12 meters (Heads are about Herc’s Height, Herc is about 6’) http://disney.wikia.com/wiki/Hydra
Summary: Hades summoned the Hydra to kill the hero Hercules. Hercules, tricked into freeing the monster, sliced off it’s first head, only to find the monster growing three more in its place. Not knowing what to do, Hercules eventually trapped continuously growing monster beneath a landslide, seemingly killing it. As the rocks fell, however, Hercules noticed a glowing light coming from the monster. Hercules and the people of Thebes believe the monster to be dead beneath the rubble, but none are brave enough to dig it out and find out.
Wing Zero (Gundam Wing)
Height: 17 meters http://gundam.wikia.com/wiki/XXXG-00W0_Wing_Gundam_Zero
Summary: When the Gundam Sandrock is destroyed, a devastated Quatre begins constructions on the Wing Zero, based on blueprints he had found previously. Once completed, control of the Wing Zero passed hands several times before being piloted by the arguably psychopathic Heero Yuuy. After defeating OZ and rediscovering his awakened feelings, Heero left a rose of his love and made his way back to the Wing Zero. Buckling himself inside, the cockpit fills with a white light, and Heero and the Gundam are gone
Story:Heero opens his eyes and finds himself on the White House lawn, inside the Wing Zero. But this seems to be the past. He walks out to the Mall and looks around. Definitely the past. But he can't remember why he's there. That is until he see's the giant snake-thing wrapping itself around the Washinton Monument, sticking one of its heads straight up looking around while the others begin to devour unsuspecting people on the ground. The 'scout' head see's the gundam and hisses loudly, and the half-dozen other heads all turn, some while chewing, to see the machine looking at them. All open their eyes in blind rage and hiss with the other.
Answers later, thinks Heero, although doubts plague him, Destroying this monster comes first. Curiously, a nagging thought in the back of his mind wonders why he cares, or why this monster is suddenly so important to him.
Battlefield: Washington D.C. Situation: The civilian population is conducting business as usual at the beginning of this match.
"Furthermore, its signature twin buster rifle has more than twice the output of the Wing Gundam's buster rifle, giving it enough power to destroy an entire space colony or resource satellite in a single shot."
I'm pretty sure that qualifies Heero to destroy the Hydra in a single blast.

Being devoured by a giant snake, yeah, that does seem like business as usual here.
Anyways, I may not know much about Gundams, but I feel that any model, even the small fries Gundams usually destroy by the droves, should have no problem dealing with the Hydra.
Don't know if Wing Zero has a sword or anything, but if he did I'm sure he would chop of a head or two first expecting an easy kill with little collateral damage. Seeing as that just causes more heads to grow, Heero would just whip out the cannon and blow it and the Washington monument away.
Win - Wing Zero
Lose - the Hydra and the Washington monument.

Lol, the phrasing is probably off. What it means is that most of the population doesn't know enough to evacuate yet.
For those of you who are 100% Wing Zero - That cannon would take out pretty much everything behind the Washington Monument as well. Heero feels a desire to kill the Hydra, but would he kill that many people to do it?
Honestly, it feels to me like Heero would move in close and get entangled by the Hydra, which has super-strength and knows his cockpit is vulnerable and that there is a tasty treat inside.
I feel Wing Zero would win, but lets be more imaginative than boom, dead. Remember, this isn't TOC where there is a neutral battleground, they have to fight within the restraints of the current area.

Your right about that, I still think he would start with a blade, maybe he has something less powerful than a cannon to prevent collateral damage? If the Hydra did grab him after his initial strikes, I think a Gundam could withstand the force of its constriction right? Aren't those things made to withstand the vacuum of space?
Either way I think the monument would be a casualty of war.
Why would Heero care about an area he's unfamiliar with?
Well, if he figures this is the past, then he might be worried about affecting the future too much. Then again, I know nothing of Heero's personality so...

"On many occasions, Heero espouses the philosophy that being emotional on the battlefield will only result in heartbreak, so soldiers need to be able to fight without caring about their opponents."
I can understand that, but is he one that favors strategy over recklessness? You can be emotionless in battle and still try to limit collateral damage and/or temporal paradoxes.
As visitors flee in terror from the Hydra, which had just devoured many a tourist with its great heads. Heero aims his weapons to try and get a head to explode… and succeeds, only for another one to grow in its place. The Hydra then charges him, but flight and range prove the superior, as he hovers above the ground and well beyond even the Hydra’s reach. He begins to bait the creature all around, circling it until it comes to a grand position. Though Heero is initially left distasteful by the choice, it had to be done. He opens fire on the creature, and it crumbles on the Lincoln Memorial, as the head of that great president fell from the statue and rolled to the ground. While the Hydra was regenerating from the attack, the Wing Zero used the opening to create fissures in the ground and use the rubble to his advantage. In no time, he could push the remains of the Hydra into the pit, and proceeded to make the remaining monuments explode as the rocks cover his adversary.
Meanwhile, in the White House, the Secretary of Defense engages the President in an urgent one-on-one.
“Mr. President, reports of monster attacks have been sighted all over the world. The attack on DC is just one among many. In Tibet, the entire mountain range has been levelled, and it looks like a lava pit. In Manhattan, a marshmallow creature was destroyed by a gigantic humanoid weapon. In Las Vegas, King Kong seems to have had a run in with a dragon, and in China, two mechas were duking it out this morning. We predict that this is just the first among many attacks.”
The president looks outside his window in the Oval Office.
“Sir, we have to declare the world in a state of emergency.”
“… that’s the third time this month, you know.”
“What shall we do, sir?”
“Quite frankly, nothing. I have a feeling once this tournament is over, things will go back to normal.”
“Tournament?”
The President merely shook his head.
“Carry on. We’ll be fine… but alert the rest of the UN Security Council just in case.”
“Yes sir…” says the public official, who was confused, panicked and scared at how calm the president seemed.
“Looks like I’ll have to make that call.” the president dials on the phone.
“Yes, Wizards of the Coast? You know that reality warping magic ink you used? I think some of it leaked on MTGS and their tournament is causing a breach in this reality.”
“We assure you the effects are only temporary, sir.” said Mark Rosewater over the phone.
“Nothing to worry about, right?”
“No sir. Everything should go back to normal once the tournament is over.”
“Well, that’s a relief. The first two times were shocking, but now I suppose we just have to wait and see and pretend nothing is happening.”
“Indeed, Mr. President.”
“Carry on.”
Vote: Wing Zero
Flight, ranged firepower and superior strategy
As much as I don’t like voting against my own nominee, Heero should make it to the next round.
I participate yearly in a survival challenge in which I am dropped off in the wilderness with 1 days rations, a knife, and no other supplies, and have to find my way home. This is typically several weeks hiking from civilization.
I have personally killed several bears in the course of this challenge, with the use of snares and other traps.
Question: What happens to the combatants after the fight? Do they linger around the area they're in or do they disappear to the next fight? And how soon til they fight again? ( Not in thread, in their time.)
Story As tourists flee the National Mall, the Hydra uncoils itself from the Washington Monument. But the Hydra is far too slow, and Wing Zero's beam rifles are already trained on it's general direction. Heero lets loose with a full power beam aimed slightly above ground level, burning off all but the bottom 10 feet of the Monument and burning off all but one head of the Hydra, which had been slithering along the ground.
The last head turns and looks at its smoldering body, screaming in rage. As it screams, bulges being to form on the stumps of heads left on the body, and to Heero's surprise, twelve more heads emerge from where he had vaporized six. All thirteen heads turn to Wing Zero and roar.
Heero pulls out his beam sabers, activates his jets and flies toward the Hydra, severing six of the heads in one swipe and cauterizing the stumps. The rest of the Hydra heads wrap around Wing Zero and bind the arms to its side. Heero blasts off into the air, singeing the Hydra. As the altitude increases, the Hydra begins to lose oxygen and slowly starts to uncoil. Arms freed, Hero slashes the beast twice more, severing another six heads. The last head looks at Wing Zero in terror as it begins to fall, and Heero maneuvers to look at it. Switching to his rifles, he takes aim.
The Hydra hits the ground with a splat just as a giant beam evaporates a hole a 100 feet deep around it. The Hydra's burnt body can be heard to sizzle and pop and Wing Zero lands and engages his beam word, carving out huge chunks of rock and dirt around the whole and pushing it all in on top of the corpse. Wing Zero lifts off and flies away as Military Jets scrambled from nearby Andrews Air Force Base finally reach the scene.
