Welcome to the Battle for Earth! Extradimensional Aliens have decided to use our planet for their amusement, shifting creatures and robots from across the multiverse to ours. Your job is to determine the winners.
Combatants are from specific universes, and while parallel versions of themselves may exist, the specific version referenced in included in parentheses after the combatant's name. All machines requiring pilots will generally have their pilots named in their summaries, and those pilots are assumed to be in the machines. However, the Extraliens have implanted thoughts of aggressiveness in all of the combatants, and they must fight if the Extraliens pit them against one another. They have also been given knowledge of the strengths and weaknesses of those they fight against.
Write-ups are appreciated, as elements from the best write ups will be included in the story conclusion. Voting can be done like TOC, you may select a poll option and/or post your choice. All in-text votes MUST BE IN BOLD.
Round 1 fights will end Saturday, September 7th at midnight.
Background on the Combatants:
King Kong (King Kong 2005)
Height: 6 meters http://kingkong.wikia.com/wiki/Peter_Jackson%27s_King_Kong
Summary: In 1933 a small film crew books passage to Skull Island. Little did they know that Skull Island was home to a wide array of gigantic creatures, massing well beyond their counterparts on the mainland. One of these creatures is KING KONG, a giant Gorilla, master of his jungle island home. Kong is tricked by the humans and shipped back to New York City, but soon escapes and rampages through the city. As he makes his fateful way climbing the empire state building, a white light engulfs him and Kong disappears.
Alduin (The Elder Scrolls V: Skyrim)
Height: ~9 meters (Based on estimate compared to nords) http://elderscrolls.wikia.com/wiki/Alduin
Summary: Alduin, ‘first born of Akatosh’, once ruled Skyrim, the Nordic Realm of Men. That was until three Nordic Heroes used the power of the Elder Scrolls to send him forward in time to a point where his people had long since passed into myth. Alduin launched on a campaign to revive his fallen brothers and bring an end to the world of men, but was stopped by an intrepid hero known as the Dragonborn. The Dragonborn followed Alduin into the Nordic realm of the honored dead, Sovngarde, and slew Alduin. However, unlike the previous dragons killed by the Dovahkiin, Alduin’s soul wasn’t absorbed by the Dragonborn. As the final blow was struck, Alduin’s roul was ripped from Sovngarde by beings unknown.
Story:As the white light fades from Kong's eyes, he looks around in confusion. The pretty woman is gone, and the flying machines are no longer spitting the painful sting-things at him. He looks back down at the steel and glass tree he was climbing and suddenly realizes he's grown in size significantly. Then he looks around and realizes he's on a different steel tree that only looks like the one he was climbing earlier. He's in a confusing man-city of lights now. Kong looks up at a glowing ethereal light and sees a flying thunder-lizard like the ones he fought at home coalesce from the light. Kong feels rage that the lizard-bat would challenge him, and frustration at his confusion.
Alduin awakes to noise and lights. This is not Sovngarde. Where am I? What is this? Alduin looks around and feels a warm gust of air. Wherever this is, he is far, far from home, in a world of stinking men, and he feels a desire to kill them all. But then he spots a great ape staring at him, and for some reason feels compelled to destroy this creature. Alduin lets out a might shout, and the people below turn and point. Some even applaud. He spreads his winds and glides down the large cooridor between the large metal castles the humans have built for themselves. These castles won't protect you from me, he thinks as he unleases fire and frost on the men below, and glides closer and closer to the ape he knows he must kill.
Battlefield: Las Vegas, Nevada Situation: The civilian population is conducting business as usual at the beginning of this match.
Pretty good way to start! I'll have to think about this for a while before voting. Maybe if I have time, I'll even do a write up. Looks to be a pretty cool match.
I participate yearly in a survival challenge in which I am dropped off in the wilderness with 1 days rations, a knife, and no other supplies, and have to find my way home. This is typically several weeks hiking from civilization.
I have personally killed several bears in the course of this challenge, with the use of snares and other traps.
Everything scares me... kitties scare me... squirrels scare me... corpses....corpses bring forth a pletora of confusing feeling which i prefer not to dwell on...:p
Alduin swoops in on Kong, leaving a trail of fire down Las Vegas Boulevard. As Alduin dives into him, Kong, undaunted, grabs the dragon and they both come crashing down into the MGM Grand Hotel. Civilians are crushed underneath as the tussle destroys all manner of games sending chips and cash flying. Surviving civilians weigh their fear against greed as many risk getting crushed beneath the pile of fur and scales for a chance at fortune.
Kong grabs the top and bottom jaws of Alduin, remembering how he would kill the giant lizards back home, but is met with a face full of fire. As Kong grabs his face howling, Alduin lets out a thundering Fus Ro Dah! that stuns Kong and sends greedy civilians flying.
In the confusion, Alduin closes his jaw around Kong's neck and rips out his throat. Alduin stands up, let's out a victorious roar, and proceeds to set the rest of Vegas aflame. Win: Alduin
I think you're all underestimating Kong here, a bit - the Rex in the clip below is only a little smaller than Alduin. Kong can be considered to be considerably stronger than the giants in Skyrim. Kong also more than strong and agile enough to use the city to his advantage.

As the battle begins, Kong quickly realizes that his opponent breathes fire. He’ll have to make use of his surroundings if he is to have any chance. He runs to the nearest casino, where he tears open a door and enters. Alduin is too clever to fall for that trick and go indoors to lose his flight advantage… instead, he bolts upward to the air, and decides to rain fire from above. As the building catches ablaze, people begin to run and scream in various directions, many of them looting what money they could grab from the Nevadan gambling rings before leaving.
Alduin believes he torched the large ape… until suddenly a few slot machines fly at him!
Kong begins picking up and throwing whatever he can grab, and though Alduin is able to blast two or three of them, one large gambling machine hits him square on the head. Kong throws a huge roulette table like a disk as Alduin recovers, and it reaches his neck. Then, pounding his knuckles on the ground, Kong charges up and grabs the dragon by his long appendages and begins to attempt to snap it backwards. Using what was last of his will, Alduin flies up to the air, and though Kong tries hard to hold his wings, Alduin goes up high enough to make it terminal velocity upon the fall. Soon, Kong almost renders the dragon unconscious and they plummet, both, hundreds of feet towards the ground. Alduin torches him, and in agony, Kong lets go, leaving Alduin to glide to the ground as the beast falls to hit the ground.
Vote: Alduin
Reasons: Flight, fire breath advantage and superior strategy
This is one of the closer matches because of the terrain advantage afforded to Kong, who is at least familiar with the concrete jungle, as opposed to Alduin. However, as much as I like King Kong, Alduin has too many tricks up his sleeve to lose this one.

Story As Alduin flies towards Kong, the danger of the fire-breathing dragon hits him. He runs to the nearest casino, where he tears open a door and enters.
Alduin, knowing his advantage is in the air, declines to follow him inside and begins pelting the casino with fireballs, causing the glass windows to explode inward, raining glass shards on the interior. Cars of the street melt under the barrage. Satisfied, Alduin lets the barrage die down as humans flee in all directions, some of them stopping to loot the destroyed machines.
Suddenly, slot machines begin to fly toward Alduin out of a window. He dodges down but finds two more fly his way. He has just enough time to realize a fourth slot machine followed the last two before the jarring impact dazes him and a rain of coins blinds him momentarily. Alduin lands on a short building nearby. Clearing his head, he opens his eyes to see the great ape leaping over him. Alduin turns before he feels the impact of the Kong's full weight on his neck, nearly pinning him to the ground. Alduin flaps his great wings and the pair lift into the air.
Kong grasps at Alduin's jaws and begins to pry them apart, but as he strains and pulls, Alduin's snake-like neck turns to face him. Kong has just enough time to see the dragon's tongue moving making the sounds "FUS... RO..." before Kong is flung away from Alduin and impacts into another casino before falling several stories to the ground, unconcious.
Alduin lets out an evil laugh and lands next to Kong. His great jaws close around Kong's neck, and twist.
