Add hyrule historia as a primary source for zelda ,it's practically the zelda bible written by creator of series.
This one? Wow, I did not know that something like that existed.
Added it! Thanks for the input.
Actually, I realized that the Video Game characters have a lot of secondary sources. Sonic and Kirby had TV Shows/Animes, for example. I added those to the list.

I'm going to add this list and the most current version of The Codex to the OP for easier reference.
I participate yearly in a survival challenge in which I am dropped off in the wilderness with 1 days rations, a knife, and no other supplies, and have to find my way home. This is typically several weeks hiking from civilization.
I have personally killed several bears in the course of this challenge, with the use of snares and other traps.
I didn't vote in a lot of these tournaments mainly because of time. I'm usually at work when I'm on MTGS. But the few I was going to vote in but didn't were because when I would read the posts to get a better feel for the combatants I'd notice it becoming a shouting match of sorts. The work you all are putting towards mashing a more organized go at this is greatly appreciated.
The only concern I have is, what constitutes a good vote? My post votes in the ones I voted in where probably like a sentence or two long. Would those not count under these new rules?
Also, since your compiling data of the combatants,I thought I should add: Ruroni Kenshin was also in his own manga, and there is a comic series that takes place after the Last Airbender that follows Aang and co.
Those could probably be secondary sources for those guys.
Oh and also Megaman X was in one episode of the old school Mega man cartoon so I guess that could be thrown in there too
Edit: Oh yeah, Sephiroth was in Ergheiz, so he can do meteorrain now

The details of what constitutes a "Post Vote" are outlined in The Codex, as quoted below in bold. Emphasis mine, of course.
b) Post Voting - Voting is done exclusively by posting opinions, set during a period predetermined by the referee. Post voting is done when voters post in the thread by making their opinion of whichever participant they feel would win the match clearly known by posting a phrase similar to “I vote for X because Y”, in which X is the participant, or are the participants, and Y is the justification behind the vote, which has to be at least one complete phrase. Whichever participant or participants gather the most post votes wins the match. In the event of a tie, the referee is free to choose a method to break it, which may or not involve a coin toss or casting a personal vote to break the tie after examining the arguments on all sides.
In short, if your post vote consists a clearly stated solid opinion through "I vote for X" and an equally clearly stated reason in "because Y", and as long as this reason is at least one phrase long (meaning, a complete sentence when used in conjunction with your opinion), your vote will be counted.
In the previous rules, "I vote for X" was sufficient. Then some people wanted the votes to be a little more detailed, so I fleshed out the rule so that a reason was now required. The validity of said reason will be up to scrutiny of course.
Since this rule has been strictly implemented this week, no one, to my knowledge, has voted using only one sentence though. Some voters who previously only did one sentence per match have now been writing more detailed versions of their opinions of the battles, and I suppose it's because the tastes of the voters has matured into wanting good arguments to convince them.
If you have time, please check the most current version of The Codex. It's in the OP. It lists the rules I will be trying to implement, and since it's still in development, any feedback on it would be great.
Also, since your compiling data of the combatants,I thought I should add: Ruroni Kenshin was also in his own manga, and there is a comic series that takes place after the Last Airbender that follows Aang and co.

Added your ideas for sources to the official list in the OP. Please double check. Thank you for your contributions!

When I get off work I'll find out about any new powers Aang might have used in the comics. I've been buying her the comics, but never read them myself.
As for Kenshin, I agree with Cyouni on it being primary source material, but it's been years since I've read it or seen the anime so I cannot remember anything too different between the two.
As for megaman x, the only thing relevant I can think of is that his armor is stronger than megamans, as mega's enemies couldn't hurt him, and his firepower is much more powerful as megaman couldn't damage Spark Mandrill or Vile.

The whole third arc is different. However, as a result of the theme of the arc, Kenshin actually doesn't do much fighting in it. I believe the only one he fights is Enishi and, well, Enishi.

I don't get the whole primary vs tertiary sources thing in regards to comic characters. For example, for a couple of the characters from the marvel universe the primary source is listed as MCU (which I assume means marvel comics universe) and the tertiary source is listed as comics. So we can use their fictional universe as a source but not any printed media that actually deals with said fictional universe? Seems like a contradiction. Especially since these are comic characters. Wouldn't it makes sense to use comics as a source? I can see certain special editions and one shots being tertiary. But surely stuff from the regular monthly issues that are part of official canon should be considered primary, right? I mean, those are the official primary sources of what's canon and what isn't with these characters.

Actually, it stands for Marvel Cinematic Universe, while DCAU stands for DC Animated Universe. This is primarily because of the complaints lodged against Marvel characters, which, for a lot of the voters, are supposed to be from the live action movies (Thor, Hulk, Captain America, Hawkeye, Magneto and Wolverine come to mind), and the same goes for DC ones, which are from the animated series (The Flash, Static, Lex Luthor and Batman come to mind), both of which are toned down but reasonable enough to scale in terms of power level for the tournament.
The only exception to this rule, so far, is Dr. Doom, not because I want to keep him über powerful, but because his cinematic counterpart is so vastly different from his comic book counterpart that it just doesn't seem right to use that version of him, so we're using Doom from the TV Series instead, who is still not as powerful as he was in the comics, but still good enough to compete here.
Of course, as with all things in the suggestion thread, this is open to discussion.

The Comics representations are just WAY out of everyones (most) leagues. My guess its that its easier to keep them underpowered and in check using their movie/cartoon versions that their comics ones. Many writers have many versions of them and some are simply overpowered, so if we take the comic book version the tournament winners would be DC/Marvel characters for sure, again this is my opinion.

Ok, I thought about it all last night and I've come to the conclusion that using the movie versions of the comic characters is ****ing stupid. It's just a way to intentionally nerf the characters because some people can't handle the fact that comic characters are generally more powerful than characters from stuff like sci-fi and magic and the like. Comics are the method of storytelling used by the people who created the characters and own the rights to them. Comics are canon, movies aren't.
Just because the comic versions are more powerful that doesn't mean we should automatically exclude them. There are plenty of powerful guys from other things that can hang with the comic guys (such as Nicol Bolas and Kefka just to name a few). I think Belgareth nailed it in his last post here. Some of the teams in this thing are inherently out of their league. Nerfing the teams that spank them is a pretty crappy solution IMO.

Ok, but your example, Kefka didn't even stand a chance against Luthor according to DC Fanboys... Even though, ya know, God of Magic...
In that case, I'd just Nominate Rune-King Thor, because he's Unstoppable... You really want that? You really want this to be Marvel/DC character pair x vs marvel/dc character pair y for the finals and the TOU finals?
Please, if you want OP Marvel characters fighting each other, make your own threads... For THIS tournament, they have to be balanced.

Hey I love comics as much as the next guy but anyone saying Lex Luthor is a match for Kefka is dreaming.
What I want is for actually canon to be the reference for all characters whether they come from comics or not. Usually that means going with the media in which they first appeared such as games for guys like Kefka, movies and TV for Locutus and comics for Wolverine.
As for this tournament, the issue of OP comic characters was not addressed until it was already well underway. I say if you want everything to be perfectly balanced then do another tournament later and state clearly before it begins that either comic characters are not allowed or that the weakest known versions of them from all comics, movies and games will be used. To nerf them half way through the tournament because you don't like how the weaker characters pair up against them is dumb. It would be like a major league sports team starting off a season in unbelievably dominant fashion and being told by the commission half way through the season that they can only use their second string guys for the rest of the season. It's just bad way to deal with the fact that they are winning out over weaker competition.
There is no way a tournament like this can ever be completely balanced. To do that you'd have to reduce every character to no powers, no gadgets, no fighting skills and all having the same IQ. Only then would it really be balanced and I don't think anyone wants a tournament like that.
Hey I love comics as much as the next guy but anyone saying Lex Luthor is a match for Kefka is dreaming.
I only got this far before I felt like replying,
WHERE WERE YOU WHEN Sephiroth and Kefka fought against Doom and Loother?! Seriously!? Coulda used more votes, lol.
Do you not agree Sephiroth and Kefka would just absolutely DESTROY Doom and Luthor? Yet somehow Doom and Luthor won? It's because the Marvel/DC fanboys are louder and more oppressive than the Final Fantasy supporters...
You know why Kamahl and Kenshin are losing in the other thread? It's because Marvel fans think that it's such a farfetched Idea for a Naturemage to be able to open a fissure in the ground... RG mages can do that in their sleep... Kamahl should have no problem doing it. I mean, his card actually animates lands, so he should be able to animate the earth beneath Wolverine and McKay, and people obviously haven't watched an episode of SGA because they think McKay is this uber demigod character, and he's not, he's a fat, out of shape, techie who gets winded after walking up 2 flights of stairs... and is deathly afraid of Citrus!!! Seriously?! Every time he tries to do something cool, it usually ends up backfiring and forcing the REAL heroes to do something... To even think he'd be a match against Kamahl and Kenshin is Laughable at best...

Magic storyline fan, checking in!
I've already corrected you on this once in thread. You are making things up in the current fight as you made things up in the Mythology vs. Chaotic Genius fight. Don't get banned from posting again, Plaguefather. Keep it fun and fair for everyone. Drastically overstating the powers of the team you support is pretty much why everyone started getting so unreasonable in the last match. Don't do it.
I don't even like reading comics, so don't you dare call me a Marvel fanboy.

I'm not trying to make things up, Poring made a list of spells Kamahl would reasonably have access to... I'm using that list dude... Plus, I'm using Kamahl's actual card for reference of Abilities... His card can animate lands and he can use overrun repeatedly... Land would also mean he can animate the terrain... Rocks, Dirt, sand, etc... It's well within his reach to animate.

I don't see Into the Maw of Hell or anything like it on that list. You're stating a misinformed opinion (that all "RG mages can [open a fissure] in their sleep") as fact. Directly comparing Kenshin to Sephiroth as fact. Both of those statements are just flat out wrong.
Whether or not you're wrong isn't even the problem though. It's that you're so overconfident in your incorrect assumptions that you can't possibly see the other side of the argument. You attack those who hold a different opinion everytime you call them "fanboys" while calling those who agree with you "supporters".
I hope you don't feel like I'm trying to hate you out of contributing here. A lot of what you say makes perfect sense, just keep it in the ring and keep it reasonable. The vast majority of us are just here for a good time, not to cheat our favourite team to victory. Remember that next time you think someone's voting for the wrong side.

You may not be trying, but you sure as hell are succeeding. A lot of the stuff you were posting in the thread with Abbadon was absolute bull**** and did not have any basis in anything other than your wish for it to be so.
As Stardust has said above you are to confident in your ignorance and don't listen to correction. We have already had a number of people who are stalwarts of this saying that you are making them uncomfortable posting in some of the threads where teams you support are in. Now would be a good time to learn that discretion is the better part of valor and withdraw a bit with some grace.

I am a comics fan but its just silly to leave the comics themselves as a primary source even if its canon because guess what? There’s 10+ writers with their own interpretations and having this creates a major chaos when sticking to a source. So which Flash do you want, the one thats as fast as a jet or the one thats so fast that is omnipresent? Which Iceman do you want, the one that freezes stuff and makes pipelines of ice or the one that can affect matter at a subatomical level?
Fan boys will always pick the strongest version that is near undefeatable and how can you stop people from doing that?
Also when it comes to Magic characters, I want a good valid reason why we can use magic cards as the interpretations of their powers, I mean… If there was a Team in charge of reviewing the art of every card and power level and accepted that art of that character doing that specific feat, why is invalidated?
Because it wasnt explicitly said so on the book? We already got approval by the creators. They give specific guidelines of what a character is capable of doing or not and if they allow that art is because well… they think its possible.

How well do you do against one?

Added your ideas for sources to the official list in the OP. Please double check. Thank you for your contributions!
That Kenshin becomes a comic book character, and therefore manages to canonically defeat Galactus in one of them?
Seriously though, I've never read the manga either. Some information from Wikidclowne and Cyouni would help, please.
Oh, and Iso, please run gimmick checks now that it's the last day of voting for Matches 3 and 4 of the TOC and TOU. Thanks!
Added them under tertiary sources, and therefore "highly discouraged" from use. Thanks!
How well do you do against one?
As for Kenshin, I agree with Cyouni on it being primary source material, but it's been years since I've read it or seen the anime so I cannot remember anything too different between the two.
As for megaman x, the only thing relevant I can think of is that his armor is stronger than megamans, as mega's enemies couldn't hurt him, and his firepower is much more powerful as megaman couldn't damage Spark Mandrill or Vile.

How well do you do against one?
The Comics representations are just WAY out of everyones (most) leagues. My guess its that its easier to keep them underpowered and in check using their movie/cartoon versions that their comics ones. Many writers have many versions of them and some are simply overpowered, so if we take the comic book version the tournament winners would be DC/Marvel characters for sure, again this is my opinion.

I voted for the FF villains team and made that known with a post vote. I just didn't feel like getting into the big back and forth argument.
