okay, here I am, posting another thread about applying for employment. I'll try and keep it brief this time around.
so, I've already applied to the military, which I'm still really hoping to get. But I thought I'd start thinking about applying to Corrections Canada in the meantime, just in case and since military applications take a long ass time anyways.
I just thought I'd post here to see if any MTGS users have had experience with applying to Corrections Canada.
I just have a few questions about it:
1-how long does the selection/interview process go?
2-is it too early for me to apply if I'm 22 (turning 23 in July), pretty much fresh outta school with barely any real life experience?
3-do they like a lot of real life experience? 9I ask this because I know alot of police forces like their applicants to have real life experience and be a bit older, which is why I'm waiting to apply)
4-when is the best time to apply?
any advice on this is really appreciated, as long as I can get some guidance on this I'm fine
Just call 1-800-622-6232 and ask for the employment opportunities program for Correctional Services Canada: they'll give you contacts for them, most likely a website and/or an email (you might even get to talk to me!): they are the best people to ask those questions to.
As far as applying goes you should sign up for the Public Service Commission of Canada (http://www.psc-cfp.gc.ca), create an account and apply for anything available
Not the greatest time to be looking for full-time employment at the Government of Canada but you ain't getting in if you don't ask!
