A few months ago I got married. As we make room for gifts and new furniture/large house items from friends and family, she and I went through all of our storage boxes.
in 2005/2006, I bought 3 pieces of DJ equipment: 2x CDI 500, 1x Q-D5 (click for links). I have never used them (officially) except set them up twice to test them. They have been in a sturdy thick plastic box and I have only moved once since college. There is no wear-n-tear on the them and the only damage is the slider on one of the digitial turntables is slight bent, but it does not hinder the speed or movement of the slider (I compared it to the other one).
The items have been discontinued but the price listed on the site is around what I paid (I got a discount as I went through a large company to order them for me). Instead of $1480, I think I paid around $1100.
Ebay has a few listings: a few of the upgraded 'MP3' ones and 1 similar to what I have (at $150).
Now, I could make quick cash and sell it to my neighbor for $200 for everything (plus I have the power cords for it and maybe the audio cords but I did not disclose that). I have no problem holding onto them and trying to more out of them, but at what cost? I know the wife won't mind, but she would expect them to be gone after a while.
How much space do they take up? I'm in a similar situation (recently married) and I've been purging some old stuff, too. Usually, unless it has real significance to me, the extra space in the house and lack of clutter is worth just getting it out of the house. It sounds like these are older tech and not worth much anyway, and if you haven't used them in 9 years, I doubt you'll find the occasion to do so in the future.

they would take up the bottom third of a hard plastic 20gal tote (here is target link to picture). We have the space for extra bins no problem....just trying to organize what we can have out. Basically, I had 4-5 totes of just computer related stuff- from a full box of computer wires, another of random fans, old HDs, CD-rom drives, motherboards, etc.
I will never use them again. I know I could get away with a month of holding them to try and sell them. After that, they are out. I am just trying to see if the hassle of trying to sell them is worth the time and extra money. I am not sure how S&H works and never used Ebay before.
Oh! Okay, that makes sense. I would drop by your post office and pick up the flat rate shipping boxes and see if you can fit them in nicely. It's probably easier to just sell it to your neighbor, but if you want to try Ebay it's relatively easy. The problem is that they might not be in demand anymore, especially if you only found one up on ebay right now. I'd just look at what the other person listed and mimic his listing.
Bottom line: If your neighbor is willing to give you cash immediately that is approximately the value it's going for on Ebay (within like 10-15%), just take the cash. Between Paypal and Ebay fees, having to post the packages and figure out shipping, etc, I'd much rather sell things for a little less off ebay. It sounds like you're getting a good deal compared to Ebay prices, so go with your neighbor.

If your neighbor is offering to take them off your hands for a near-equivalent value, it's worth it to sell it with cash in hand. You lose about 5% of the sale on Ebay to fees (Paypal and Ebay), and have to figure out shipping costs (which for what you describe would probably be around $20). All in all, weigh the need to invest about 2 hours in the sale on Ebay versus selling it.
You set the cost for shipping when you list on eBay. Probably a good idea to get a good estimate of shipping cost for the packaged goods before you set up the eBay listing. And familiarize yourself with the eBay fee structure.
There is Craigslist, of course, but you'd be selling to a smaller market.
Still deciding to hold onto to get more than $200 or just sell to neighbor for $200
For some reason, the forum erased both times I tried to reply to you yesterday.
Short Answer: Selling to your neighbor for $200 is faster and easier. Listing it on ebay will take time, you will pay about 5% of what you earn in fees, you'll have to package it appropriately and ship it yourself, and there is always the chance that the person won't pay (I'd say 1 out of every 15 sales I make results in someone backing out of a sale). Plus, you have to hope someone will actually bid on it in the first place, only about a quarter of things I list sell the first time I post them. Unless you're sure you'll make a significant amount more than selling to you neighbor, it may just be worth selling to him to avoid the hassle.

Yeah, Ebay's day is done, in my opinion. Based on my friend who lists a lot of stuff on ebay for his job, it's essentially full of the worst buyers, because they've changed the rules so much that it's impossible to let other people know about terrible buyers. So, the scum have flourished and everyone else has largely moved to Amazon or other online outlets.

You can still find some good things on eBay, but you really have to know where (and how) to look. But it isn't for normal people anymore; I'd never buy anything from someone with less than 50 feedback. That mostly means clothes, and occasionally rare books. I'd never sell anything there.

Sing lustily and with good courage.
Be aware of singing as if you were half dead,
or half asleep:
but lift your voice with strength.
Be no more afraid of your voice now,
nor more ashamed of its being heard,
than when you sang the songs of Satan.
