I have a Mac, I dual boot with boot camp so I can run both Windows (7) and OSX.
I recently purchased a 3TB external hard drive and have been loading my small movie collection onto it. The process of loading movies all happens on the Windows side of my computer because the software I use doesn't work in "Mac Land".
I have been converting the videos to MP4s from whatever they typically come in so I can watch them easily on the Mac side. Two of the videos I have tried placing on my drive are giving the error "The file 'Batman Begins (2005)' is too large for the destination file system" (the other movie is also Batman :cool2:); there are no where near too many movies on here right now. The external is reformatted to Mac, I am guessing this is the problem, but maybe not?
I'm converting a few more movies right now to see if the problem is universal, but I copied four at once and those two didn't work.
Is there an obvious solution I am not seeing?
If I reformat back to a Windows compatible system, what are the risks with the movies I do have on there already?
The HDD is probably formatted as a FAT32-disk. that makes it compatible with more different units but the max file size is somewhere around 4GB. If you want to have room for larger files you need to format the disk in NTFS

I got some 9 other movies on there after this error, so I checked the file sizes... Why is Batman so data heavy!? The other movies are 2GB at the most, while these two are 4.5GB.
I'm just going to find new ones to load. That's ridiculous.
Downloading movies (and also ripping copies of them, incidentally) is illegal in the US. As such, it can't really be discussed here. Thread closed.

Sing lustily and with good courage.
Be aware of singing as if you were half dead,
or half asleep:
but lift your voice with strength.
Be no more afraid of your voice now,
nor more ashamed of its being heard,
than when you sang the songs of Satan.
