I've lately been having issues with my internet connection dropping if I try to play long Youtube videos or play a game like League of Legends. The connection is rock solid when I'm just browsing, or even when downloading large files, but if I start trying to stream media for any length of time, the connection drops entirely and I have to reset the router.
Needless to say, this is weird to me. I tried googling a couple things, and the nearest similar issue I could find seemed to be caused by something called DHCP lease time. No clue what that means.
The connection was actually working fine up until a couple weeks ago, and even then, I assumed it was a hardware issue because my laptop (running Win 7 Pro) isn't in great shape. But I've tried it out with another laptop (running Win 8.1) now and the same issue is cropping up, and I don't know why.
Wit's End is the PERFECT answer to your opponent's Monomania however.
Just hold on to your Wit's End when they Monomania, so you can Wit's End them on your next turn!!!
I think this is fairly reminiscent of the "Jace Battles" we have seen in past standards.. My guess is we will soon witness the great Monomania-Wit's End battles.
I'm going to assume you are going with wireless connection to your internet. Have you tried with a wired connection? Sometimes, it's the router that's the source of the problem, especially when you have to reset it.
Try wiring your laptop to your router (an adaptor may be needed, depending if your laptop has a physical port for Internet, if not, a USB Lan card will likely do the trick).
If it is your router, then make a small change, if you can afford it. If it is not your router, contact your ISP (Internet Service Provider) about this issue.
Networking is one of the most painful things to sort out if you don't know what to do. It's probably much easier to get a pro to look at it or get the ISP to check the network.

What type of connection? How fast can it be? How fast is it usually?
How long?
How do you mean large and download?
Etc.
Could be that upstream they're limiting the amount of packets sent from each source. These sorts of limitation are especially noticable when playing online games, since many small packets are sent. This may also be the issue with youtube, but I would not think so. You could try checking your outgoing packages, see if that shows anything.
