Right now I have Time Warner with Turbo boost so 15Mbps download/2Mbps upload service. This is because I own a home and have two roommates which equals up to 2 desktops, 1 laptop, and 2 Xboxes using service at any given time.
My roommates (who are a couple) are buying their own home and moving out in a month. My question is, since I will be tighter on money what service should I downgrade to?
I use the internet A LOT and download files tons. I have a desktop and an Xbox 360. I do not play many games online (since I likely won't be shelling out for the new Halo on Xbox One) but do play Full House Pro Poker alot and some other light multiplayer.
I figure at the very least I could drop my Turbo add-on and make things 10Mbps/1Mbps and be fine, but this will only save me $10 a month.
Time Warner just came out with a new service for only $15 but it only has 3Mbps/1Mbps speed. Will this be enough for online downloading and Xbox Live or do I need to keep the 10Mbps speed?
Thanks I think I am going to have to bite the bullet and keep paying for 10Mbps and just drop the Turbo boost. This should still be good for Live right? Especially with just one person using the internet.
How much are you paying for that service? You may want to look into competitors or call the Time Warner and let them know you're thinking of dropping them due to the cost. Usually they'll throw incentives at you to keep you.

This. I work for an ISP and there's an entire department devoted to this sort of thing.
