First time seeing this thread... it's a bit depressing. I did laugh at the current picture of Axl Rose though. He doesn't look nearly as bad as Tom Araya (Slayer) who now looks like Santa Clause.
One thing that amuses me is that while the PS2 came out in 2000 (when I was in 6th grade maybe) the last game made was september 2013 (2 years out of college).
-9 years since Steve Irwin died.
-18 years since Goldeneye 007
-8 years since the last Harry Potter book was released
-13 years since the first LotR movie.
-9 years since the last Chappelle's Show episode aired.
-18 years since South Park first aired.
-The first episode of the Colbert Report was 10 years ago
Here are the things I still remember that remind me of how old I am.
-Secret World of Alex Mack (nearly 20 years ago) - this was my go-to after school TV show for quite some time
-In 1992, my dad bought a Sega Genesis for us for $120. I remember it came with Ren and Stimpy. Compared to games I play today (like Mass Effect), it looks so primitive. But it was a masterpiece at the time.
-In 1990, my family had a Honda with those lights that go up and down. Cars like that have long become extinct.
-In 1998, my friends and I tore into 6 boxes of Urza's Saga. We didn't really know what we were doing, and we played with the cards without sleeves. Looking at the prices of boxes today ... it makes me sad.
That's all for now. I'm sure I'll think of more later.

Oh my god, I have so many Magic fails from when I was younger. I still can't believe how many things worth money now that I sold or traded away back then.

-This year is the tenth anniversary of Batman Begins and Star Wars, Episode III: Revenge of the Sith (I can hardly believe that it has been that long already).
-This year is the 15th anniversary of Hybrid Theory and The Sickness, the respective debut albums of Linkin Park and Disturbed (I can still remember listening to those albums in high school when they were first released).
-Last year was the 15th anniversary of Fight Club and the first Matrix film.
-Last year was the 15th anniversary of the Columbine Massacre, this year is the 20th anniversary of the Oklahoma City bombing, next year shall be the 15th anniversary of the September 11th World Trade Center attacks, and two years from now shall be the tenth anniversary of the Virginia Tech massacre (such anniversaries may be rather depressing and morbid to commemorate, but I still wished to mention them, nevertheless).
-The Olsen twins are now 28 years old.
-Eminem's daughter, Hailie Mathers, shall be 20 years old in December of this year.
-Steve Irwin's daughter, Bindi Irwin, whom some may remember from Bindi the Jungle Girl, is now 16 years old.
-Next year shall be the tenth anniversary of the death of Saddam Hussein and it has already been six years since the deaths of Michael Jackson and Billy Mays (which occurred within days of each other).
-The original Doom game is now 22 years old.
-Last year was the 10th anniversary of World of Warcraft and the 20th anniversary of the very first Warcraft game. This year is the 15th anniversary of Diablo II and next year shall be the 20th anniversary of the original Diablo game.
-Last year was the 15th anniversary of Fantasia 2000 and Star Wars, Episode I: The Phantom Menace.
-Remember when Bad Boys and the Macarena were first released? That was 22 years ago, when I was in elementary school, and I remember that those songs were immensely popular then, as they were played at many dances and other events held at my school and elsewhere in my town.
Street Sharks makes me feel old for being able to remember it so vividly.
Wow, I remember that series, and I definitely enjoyed it as a child. It was clearly attempting to emulate the "anthropomorphic superhero" formula of Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles, but that does not mean that it was a poor series. What about its sibling series, Extreme Dinosaurs? Did you ever see that series, as well?

Oh my goodness. I remember getting up early on Saturdays to watch those awesome non-CGI cartoons.
-Street Sharks
-TMNT
-X-Men
-Spiderman
-Biker Mice from Mars (I had the toys, too!!)
Then they came out with Beast Wars, which I think was CGI. I remember being so happy when my dad got me the Cheetoh and Rat Trap toys. I'm going to find those the next time I visit home. Good memories =)

I watched all those series, as well; they were some of my favorite shows on television during my childhood!
Did you ever see Mighty Max, Mummies Alive, Swat Kats, Captain Simian and the Space Monekys, or Gargoyles? Those were some more awesome series that are sadly not well-remembered today.

Thanks for reminding me. I do remember Mighty Max (if I recall correctly, they had those little clam shell toys, too) and Gargoyles. I don't remember the other ones, but maybe I just didn't watch them as often as I did the others.
They used to rotate the shows pretty frequently, didn't they? I seem to remember the lineups changing every few weeks or so.

Yes, I also owned several of the Mighty Max toys, including the two largest, Dragon Island and Skull Mountain. I no longer own them, predictably, so I wonder what they would be worth, today, and I also recall finding it to be odd that the mini-figure of Skull Master, the arch-villain of the Mighty Max franchise, was different between the two sets: in Skull Mountain, he was clearly inspired by Skeletor from Masters of the Universe, with a staff, a cape, and a skeletal body and face, while, in Dragon Island, he was massive and muscular and wielded a sword.
I also recall that those television series changed very often, and I rarely ever saw every episode, in order, for those series, and, even to this day, not all of them have been released on home video. It was not until years later, with the rise of the internet and digital file-sharing, that I was able to re-watch all of those amazing series that entertained me so greatly in my childhood.

Dunno if it has been mentioned, but this November is supposed to be when Marty McFly pops up in the DeLorean!
I did mention Back to the Future, but I did not know the month to which he traveled in 2015, so I wonder just how different the year shall actually be from how it was portrayed in the movie?
