Why is it so bad to simply hate all women? That's their problem not everyone else's. As long as that guy who hates all women doesn't go around doing something illegal like... shooting people, then who cares what groups of people he does or does not hate.
Fear leads to anger. Anger leads to hate. Hate leads to suffering.
You can fight the mental illness battle at the same time of the misogyny issue. Because they are essentially one in the same. Anyone who hates an entire class of people enough to murder them and anyone who supports them is not mentally well.

There is a difference between hating something/someone and wanting someone to die. I can hate you but still find it tragic if you were to die. There is a difference between simply hating women (or Jews, or blacks, or midgets) and wanting to see anyone that fits into that category die. Someone who supports murdering women goes beyond simply being a misogynist.

A misogynist is still fully capable of being a murderer. I'm not understanding why this isn't a no brainer. If you commit murder, you are a murderer. But why? The intent comes into play. Why did he murder these women? Oh, he has a manifesto about his life story and how he plans on killing women for rejecting him. This murderer is a misogynist.

Yes a murderer is a murderer and a misogynist is a misogynist. It is entirely possible for someone to be both. However, it is also possible to be a misogynist without being a murderer. Misogynists existing should not be seen as a problem for society. There will always be people with less than ideal views. As long as those views are not acted on in illegal ways it is not an issue.
Also... as I stated before I don't believe he really was a misogynist in the traditional sense. He may share some misogynistic views but this is an individual that does not have normal reasoning skills. I find it hard to lump someone with a mental disorder in the same group as people without such a disorder just because they both happen to have distasteful views of women. Elliot Rodger's views were a degradation of his own God complex, and his own high feeling of self worth and entitlement not being met by society the way he expects. This a person that basically believed himself to be perfect and could not find a reason for why other people did not see him the same way. Because of the difference between his view of himself and how people treated him he manufactured ideals to explain the difference. While a normal person would be able to blame their own lack of social skills or something else internal, since he believed himself to be so amazing he had to blame something external.

He objectified women as things to be collected rather than people to be understood. That's a pretty common form of misogyny, entitlement issues or no.
Proof? At no point do I remember him referring to women as objects. He refers to them as being less evolved (blaming this for their desire to date brutish men). So I would argue that he actually did attempt to understand them and came to a conclusion. It was a ridiculous conclusion that is highly flawed, but he attempted to understand and came to a conclusion.

Arguably that some people grow to loathe or otherwise lack respect for half of humanity is kind of a problem for society. Anything that causes something so unhealthy has to be taken seriously and investigated.
If it was a high percentage of people maybe... There is a non-zero percentage of people that want to have sex with animals. There is a non-zero percentage of people that are afraid of mustard. There is a non-zero percentage of people that think Aliens are in control of the government... I am not trouble by there also being a non-zero percentage of people that hate women, blacks, Indians, Jews, Homosexuals... I accept it as a fact of free thinking that with a large enough population there will be people with views that make no sense. As long at that population of odd thinkers is relatively small it's not an issue, and if that population grows then maybe they are not the ones with weird views and it's actually everyone else that has it wrong(like the people who thought being gay was ok, or interracial marriage).
You could look at my earlier posts in this topic, or you could look at my post in that topic where an offtopic attempt to swerve the debate by JoandeMRA led me to some information on Elliot Rodger, including this charming post by him (post is not charming).
'If you could release a virus that would kill every single man on Earth, except for yourself because you would have the antidote, would you do it? You will be the only man left, with all the females. You would be able to have your pick of any beautiful woman you want, as well as having dealt vengeance on the men who took them from you. Imagine how satisfying that would be.'
So, as I said earlier: he hated women for not being the sex-dispensing objects he thought they should be, and he hated men for being successful with women and not being him.
