Regarding keys, wallet, cell phone, etc. How do you carry those things? I just put them in either my shorts pockets, or if it's the winter my jacket pockets. But the thing is, everytime I change my jacket or my pair of shorts in the summer, I have to remember to take them out. I am just wondering what other people are doing.
Edit: I am just wondering, what are some alternatives to carrying those things in your shorts or jacket pockets? I feel that with putting them in pockets, when you switch clothes, that opens the possibility of forgetting the wallet or keys.
For a long time, my system was
FRONT
sunglasses - keys and pocketwatch
wallet - handkerchief
REAR
But now having a phone, and not liking phone cases on my belt, is starting to annoy me. I want my sunglasses, phone, and keys in my front pockets, but I don't like any two of those in the same pocket. The pocket watch goes in the watch pocket above the right front pocket (yup, that what it's there for).

I put all that stuff in my purse. Assuming I remember to pack it all, that is. Occasionally I'll leave my keys on top of my terrarium, which always makes things interesting.
When I was in college, my wallet, keys, ID, and pocketwatch were all linked together by chain that I kept in my pants pocket. It was heavy as you'd imagine, but that just meant it was hard to lift/pickpocket, and double as a weapon just in case.
These days, I carry a bag for my tablet. Cash and IDs I put in a pocket of the bag, ID in another, then some tissue, a tiny bottle of alcohol, and a plastic bottle of pills that I need whenever I eat in another pocket. I no longer use a wallet.
I carry my wallet in my back pocket and my keys in either my front pocket or jacket pocket. I know one trick my dad always told me when I forgot my keys/wallet as a kid was to just empty your pockets on your nightstand/desk/whatever before bed and just put them back if/when you change pants in the morning.
Cell in my front left, wallet in my front right, keys are either in a back pocket or hoodie pocket. When I get home, wallet and cell are on my desk, keys are on the kitchen counter.
Im probably like a lot of guys that have a "pocket order" my keys/phone in my left pocket, wallet in my right. I never liked having stuff in my back pockets.
Phone goes in the front right pocket, keys in the front left, and wallet in the back right pocket. Seems different from the vast majority of others I meet, it seems.
If it has anything to do with the pocket I put my phone in, I'm right-handed.

Front right pocket - iPhone 5 and pocket knife
Front left pocket - Pen, lighter, and cigarettes
Back right pocket - Wallet

Watch on left wrist. Ring on Left hand. Keys on a carabiner clipped to my belt loop.
In the winter I kept them in my sports jacket with zippers.
Right now I use my stylish small backpack for most stuff and keep my cell phone and maybe my wallet in my front pocket. In Japan murses and small functional shoulderbags are everywhere and I'm kind of craving one.
I stopped carrying my wallet in my back pocket one day after it fell out while riding a bike. Someone kindly turned it in to the police but it was on the other side of the city and I had to bike there on a rainy day

I haven't heard much mention of mp3/audio players. Do you folks use your phones for that now too?
I have an 80g iPod classic that I'm using half the day, every day. It slides in front of a notebook in my front-left pocket facing outward, so I can select songs without taking it out of my pocket. Keys and multi-tool are on a lanyard next to those and don't scratch the iPod because the notebook is slightly wider than it. I keep a phone & pen in my right-front pocket, along with the occasional scrap or coin. I'm uncomfortable sitting with anything in my back pockets, so I use one for my wallet when it's not in my coat or bag. It's pretty rare that I'm somewhere without one of those, so I place it between my legs or on the table when actually sitting. This forces me to be aware of it. Alternatively, it'll fit in with my phone if I don't want it to be visible for some reason. Actually, I lied about the back pockets; they're good for carrying tiny stuff like floss tools or hair pins and soft flat stuff like a handkerchief or tissue.
I am just wondering, what are some alternatives to carrying those things in your shorts or jacket pockets? I feel that with putting them in pockets, when you switch clothes, that opens the possibility of forgetting the wallet or keys.
Short of carrying a bag of some sort, I'm not sure there is a good alternative. I'd just try to make a habit of either refilling your pockets in the morning before you leave or checking yourself as you walk out the door to make sure you've got everything.
I mean, hell, we're all on a forum for something that most people would describe as a "children's card game"...do what makes you happy. You are never too old to enjoy yourself.
Im probably like a lot of guys that have a "pocket order" my keys/phone in my left pocket, wallet in my right. I never liked having stuff in my back pockets.
I do this, except the keys in the right (don't want them scratching the phone).
All my stuff goes into either of my pockets in my pants/shorts. I don't carry a whole lot with me, usually just my money clip and pen, or I will take a headband and a protein bar if I am at work.
Wallet in my left pants pocket, keys and mp3 player on my right. Phone in my chest pocket or jacket pocket. Whenever I go buy a pair of pants, they have to go thru the "put in wallet and sit comfortably" test.
Whenever I get home, everything in my pockets get dumped onto a table/tray beside the door.
Edit: I am just wondering, what are some alternatives to carrying those things in your shorts or jacket pockets? I feel that with putting them in pockets, when you switch clothes, that opens the possibility of forgetting the wallet or keys.
