I was going to post this on the MTG General but I guess it's more suited here?
I thought about this and the names that only sound good to me are Melira, Elspeth, Nissa, Gideon, Sorin, Liliana...and yes Jace! (note I've only started mtg recently so I still have to read some lore, as obviously there are more names out there)
I have a cat named Oona that we got before Lorwyn came out and to this day I am embarrassed for that. I think that naming my kid after an MTG character would be on a totally different level of shame. But, my kids are Hank and Angus so I went with the whole Traditional Northern European thing. The names Viper mentioned are okay because they are also real names... the ones you listed except for Gideon aren't. And Gideon just screams "My dad plays WoW instead of changing my diapers."
Now, if you do decided to go for it, go for it. Like, REALLY go for it. If I ever run into a 6 year old named Oros, the Avenger that will be beyond amazing.
I thought of this once. Only 2 names come to mind Gerrard and Kamahl seeing both made me a fan of Magic storyline wise. Beside that I probably would not name my kid after any other characters.
I have a friend who goes by Jace because he hates his real name (Jesse) so I always thought it was a normal name. I also thought Liliana was relatively normal. And I know Gideon is a real name but I would never name my child that. Personally, hearing a new name that sounds nice from mtg is fine, As long as the name doesn't sound really fantasyish and you don't expect your child to act like who you named them after... (Here Chandra! Use these matches to light your hair on fire when you get mad.)
Eh and I could also live to name my child after someone from portal because I'm Chinese and Stuff and that'd only be a little bit weird.
My dogs are named Kira and Oona. My best friend named his first daughter Hanna. I see nothing wrong with the names. Most people don't have any idea they are from magic cards and those that do usually just think it's cool.
It's not a magic name, but, there is a kid that plays at my FNM that has the following name: Rand Al'Thor (insert whatever his last name is). Everytime I play against him, I want to find his parents and slap them repeatedly.
Naming your kids after fantasy characters is the nut low. Period.

Wow, not even just Rand, Rand Al'Thor? That is cruel.
I think Mishra is a nice name, but I wouldn't name my kid after a MTG character.

The interesting thing about us legacy players is that we consider Force of Will, Dark Ritual, Blood Moon, Tarmogoyf and Swords to Plowshare to be fair.
I would not name my kids after MTG characters, but if I liked a name like Oona/Kira/Kaysa/whatever that HAPPENED to have a card belonging to it, I would see no problem with it.
I would definitely NOT name my child after any FICTIONAL character unless their name was normal. Oona is not normal. Mishra is not normal. Jace is not normal. People left right and center will ask you where you got that name from and you will have to tell them to truth.
My dad wanted to name me John Elway [Last Name]. I would be embarrassed and wholly pissed off if that were the case because I dislike the Bronco's and their playing like **** now. Don't do it.

Yeah. At first I just knew his name was Rand, and I was like, "Well, even if it's that character, the name isn't the worst." Then I looked at the match slip and saw that his name listed in full included the Al'Thor part. I was half-tempted to concede to the kid just so that at least one thing would have gone right in his life.

Who's to say what's normal? I have a nephew named Jayce. Spelled differently, yes, but it is still a valid name. Plus, as has said before, some guys named Jason use it as a nickname.
But really, the point is, who's to say what name is normal? If people hadn't thought outside the box, everyone would be named after Kings and Queens, and the world would be pretty boring.

With my second son, I pushed for Ragnar which is both a Magic Card AND a king. My wife fought me on it, but her "girl's name" was Dagmar (to Dagny). I still think Ragnar was a reasonable option.

To be honest, if i had to decide it would be liliana if it was a girl and jason (jace) if it was a guy.
Personally though, I'd never name a child after a fictional character in a card game.

havehad a great-grandfather named Wilburforce and in these times I think naming a kid Omnath would be a lot easier. With my second son, I pushed for Ragnar which is both a Magic Card AND a king.
