@ Scko: The Hoothoot sat patiently in the tree, mimicking the growl, while the PokeDex spoke: Hoothoot, the Owl Pokemon. It switches its standing foot so quickly, it can't be seen. It cries at the same time every day. A flying Pokemon.
------------------------
@Hat: The cat turned toward Sneasel and tried to scratch with its' sharp claws again, a fire in its eyes obviously brought about by the taunting.
"Sneasel! It's rushing in blindly, which should make it an easy target for a counterattack! Dodge it and use a full-force Scratch on its back!"
Sneasel dodged with perfect timing. As the wild Poke'mon's attack hit only air, Sneasel raised its arm preparing for a powerful strike. As soon as the cat stopped, Sneasel brought down its claws with full force.

"Alright char", scko said softly. "Let's try to knock it out of the trEE!!! What are you doing?"
Before scko could complete what he was saying charmander...
dashed forward and jumped at the Hoothoot with its claws ready.
OOC: Scratch
@ Hat: The attack hit, causing the cat to once again make noise. It calmed itself down, and growled again at its aggressor.
------------------------
@ Scko: Charmander made it high enough that it could have marked the Hoothoot's ankle, but a well-timed switch brought the leg safely out of harm's way from the attack. It wasn't going to just stand around, though, as it took flight and came swooping in with all its might. (Tackle)

This wasn't good. The battle had been going on for awhile now, and though Sneasel hadn't taken serious damage, Atticus could tell it was getting worn down. But maybe, just maybe......
"Sneasel, just a little more! Leer at it again!"
Atticus readied a Poke'ball as Sneasel started staring down its foe. He was waiting for the slim moment when the cat faltered. That small window of opportunity would be when Atticus threw the Poke'ball.
He didn't have to wait long. The cat faltered and Atticus threw his Poke'ball.
@ Hat: The pokeball flew through the air, and hit the cat. With a flash of red, it was pulled inside the device, and the ball wobbled on the ground . . . back and forth . . . back and forth . . .
. . . and stopped with a chime and the light winked out.

Atticus breathed a sigh of relief as the ball came to a stop. "Good job buddy, you did great."
"SNEA! SNEAAAAASEL!" Sneasel cheered.
"Well, let's get acquainted with our new friend, shall we?" Atticus pressed the button on the Poke'ball he had just used and pulled out his Poke'dex.
"Glam." The cat turned its nose up at Atticus and Sneasel.
Checking with the Poke'dex, Atticus confirmed that the Poke'mon was a Glameow.
"Pretty cool! A Glameow! You'll be an excellent addition to the team!"
"GlaMEOW." The Glameow replied as if Atticus was merely stating the obvious.
"Alright, well. We should continue on down the path I think. Return, Glameow. Sneasel, I think we should head back onto the path to avoid any more wild Poke'mon battles. No offense, but I think you might need a breather after that battle." Sneasel nodded in agreement, and the two returned to the path before continuing on.
"Well, that's lucky. How about we use this right now on you, buddy? That way if we happen across a trainer, we'll be able to have a fair fight." Spraying the healing medicine on Sneasel's wounds, Atticus made sure to get every spot that needed it.
A short way up the path, Atticus and Sneasel came to a crossroads. Luckily, Atticus had the perfect way to decide which way to go.
"Rock, Paper, Scissors!" Atticus revealed rock, while Sneasel revealed...well....claw.
"You know the rules, bud. Rock beats scissors. Route 2 it is." Sneasel gave Atticus a look that could have passed as its Leer attack. Nevertheless, it followed Atticus onto Route 2.
OOC: Moving to Route 2 now unless you have any objections, Immersa.
@ Scko: Charmander made it high enough that it could have marked the Hoothoot's ankle, but a well-timed switch brought the leg safely out of harm's way from the attack. It wasn't going to just stand around, though, as it took flight and came swooping in with all its might. (Tackle)
Charmander gently landed on the ground and began to turn around to face its enemy, but it wasn't there. Surprise flashed across charmander's face. The hoothoot caught charmander off guard and plowed right into char sending the charmander back a couple paces. Charmander eased itself back up ready to continue.
"Char, stand there and wait for it to come to you. When it gets close hit it as hard as you can with scratch!!!"
The hoothoot began to fly around for another attack.
Charmander stood there silently watching the flying pokemon and becoming ever more furious.
OOC: Hoothoot hits Charmander with tackle, but growl had weakened the attack. Still fairly strong since it was direct. Charmander is now preparing the Rage attack. (Not entirely sure what this would look like.)
The Hoothoot circled the fire pokemon, and lighted in a tree again. Staring down the Charmander as it smouldered in anger, it's eyes began to glow softly. (Hypnosis)
The people that play legacy / vintage always amuse me. They want their formats to be represented more. They want more tournaments. But when anyone suggests allowing more people access to the formats by reprinting cards, the same people start screaming about the reprint policy.

@ Scko: Hoothoot was knocked out of the tree with the force of the attack. It floundered in the dirt briefly before taking to wing again. It rose up high, then dove down into the Charmander again. (Tackle)
------------------
@ dizzle: The trainer looked a little nervous as he released a Weedle. "Umm, Weedle, use a Poison Sting, I think." There was no hesitation, however, from the little bug pokemon as it instantly lept toward the Mankey.
OOC: Whatever colour is fine, really. I do it so people can easily differentiate regular narrative text from character speech.

"Char"!!! Scko barked. The charmander snapped out of its fury as it watch the Hoothoot speed toward him. "Hit it as hard as you can with a scratch as soon as it comes near you". Charmander starred down the oncoming flyer as it raised its right claw back ready to launch a counter assault.
The Hoothoot swept in for the final attack, but just as it was within reach the orange lizard swiped its claw as hard as it could...
@ dizzle: Weedle went tumbling back with the force of the kick, but appeared to not have taken much damage. "We need to slow it down, try to tie it up with some string!" From the safety of its new location, Weedle started spitting string toward the Mankey, attempting to tangle the fighting pokemon's feet.
OOC: Use your best judgement, Poison Sting doesn't always poison the foe
-----------------------------
@ scko: Hoothoot was hit with the claw, but it didn't stop the forward motion of the bird. The two collided and rolled up against a tree.

Charmander struggled to its feet. Dazed by the impact of the bird. It looked at its fallen enemy damaged and struggling to rise.
Just then a white and red orb flew past.
(OOC: Scko throws pokeball)
Lime saw the string cover mankey, almost immobilizing him. "Mankey, use Focus energy. We can wait for them to get close."
Mankey visibly raged. Despite the rage, he seemed focused, almost fixated on wanting to attack the weedle. With the reduced speed, mankey walked, step by step, towards the weedle. All the while, a fire burned deep inside his eyes.

@ dizzle: "Try to sting it again, Weedle!" The little bug once again leapt toward Mankey, stinger leading the way. It's path was a little more unpredictable, as it swung around and through some of the threads it had just made. It was rather agile for suck a little insect.

The weedle quickly weaved through the threads it spewed out just a little bit ago. It seemed as though the the string was mainly focused around mankeys feet, leaving his arms rather free despite a few stray threads. Lime seemed more concerned at the speed of the weedle rather than the lack of speed the mankey had.
As the weedle inched closer, gaining speed and momentum, lime became frazzled, "Mankey, use scratch," hoping it would land in time

The Weedle was too busy dodging through the threads to notice the claw coming down on it. The impact knocked the little bug into the dirt, much to the dismay of it's trainer. "Oh, I guess that's it then. C'mon back, Weedle, you need a good rest after that. Thanks for the battle, and good luck." The young trainer handed lime $63, and bounded off to the nearest town, looking for a Pokemon Center.

"Sure, but must i warn you, my pokemon is quite strong," Lime said, somewhat bluffing. He never really had much luck in pokebattles.
He withdrew the pokeball from his vest pocket and threw it to the ground, "Mankey go!"
