Leaving behind the trees of Faerie Forest, Route 6 is largely flat and unremarkable. Trainers can be seen across the landscape, with a large city in the distance.
(minimum of 2 rolls to progress through)
Route 6 exits onto Routes 5 or 7 to the east, or Kalypso City to the west.
Stepping onto Route 6 from Faerie Forest, Atticus and Sneasel shielded their eyes. After being in the relatively dark forest, the blazing sun hurt a little bit. After acclamating to the brightness, the two continued on down the Route, on the lookout for any wild Poke'mon or trainers.
Atticus followed the route, looking both on and off of it. Suddenly, Atticus found a small pokeball hidden near a bushes. Inside it he found a small potion.
Great Ball, and a Potion.

"Well, that's an odd place to store a potion! But I'm not complaining, it's free stuff!" Stuffing his newly acquired items into his backpack, Atticus nodded to Sneasel and the pair once again continued down the path.
Atticus follows the dirt path through the savannah around him to get to the next town. Not many pokemon can be seen close to the path, until suddenly, a large bird pokemon with two heads walks onto the path in front of Atticus. It doesn't seem to mind him.... yet.

Doduo, the Twin Bird Pokémon. It runs faster than it can fly.
From where Atticus is standing, one of the heads looks like it is looking for food. The other head looks straight at him as he pulls out his pokedex. It doesn't seem alarmed, however.

Motioning again to Sneasel, this time telling him to wait, Atticus walked slightly closer to the Doduo, making sure not to make any movements that might be misconstrued as an attack.
"Hey there! Are you looking for food? I might be able to help...."
Atticus suddenly realized he was talking to a wild Poke'mon as though it were another person. He of course talked to Sneasel, but that was different in that they had known each other for quite awhile. Still, he was genuine in his offer to assist in looking for food. He didn't particularly like having to battle in order to catch wild Poke'mon, so if he could recruit the Doduo without a fight, he would certainly do so.
@Hat: The second head that was watching Atticus keeps staring at him. As Atticus moves closer to the bird, the first head starts looking at him. It does nothing, probably waiting for Atticus to do something.

Atticus slowly bends down at the side of the path, searching for anything in the grass that the Doduo might like as food. If he could find a small fruit or something similar, that would be ideal, he thought.
OOC: I'll roll just in case you need me to in order for me to find something.
@Hat: Atticus looks around in the surrounding scrubland and finds a couple of small red fruits next to what appears to be a pokeFruit scrub. Atticus doesn't know the properties of these fruits, but at least it's something.

Atticus picks the two small red fruits. Returning to face the Doduo, he offers one of the fruits to each head. "Here, I found these. Hope you like them!"
The doduo looks at Atticus for some time, before approaching him. The heads each take a fruit. Taking their time, each of the heads consume the berries. The doduo then looks back at Atticus. It looks happier than before, and it starts walking around Atticus, probably looking to see if he has any more of the berries.

"Haha, sorry Doduo, I don't have any more! But I can point you in the direction of where I found the berries!" Atticus pointed in the direction of the scrub where he had found the berries.
"If you don't find any there, you can always travel along with me and I'm sure there will be plenty of berries!"
Doduo runs off to where Atticus pointed. After a little while, the Doduo walks back, and it seems very happy. It approaches Atticus. It seems that the Doduo wants to take Atticus's offer.
Quick Note: The doduo is your friend, but it is free to leave at any point, until you officially capture it. And until you register it in the pokemon league database at a pokemon center, you cannot use Doduo in gym matches. Other than that, its as if you caught him, so you can use him to fight in trainer battles. Nice huh?
Male, Moveset: Peck, growl, quick attack, rage, and fury attack.

"All right! Nice to be your friend Doduo! Hey Sneasel, since Doduo doesn't have a Poke'ball, he'll have to walk out here with me. Do you mind going into your Poke'ball?"
Sneasel nodded its ok and went into its Poke'ball without a fuss.
"Alright Doduo, shall we continue on? I think we're almost to the next town. Maybe they'll have some more berries!"
"Doduuuuuuo! Doduo!" The Doduo trumpeted, obviously excited at the prospect of more delectable goodies.
Atticus started off, with his new friend not far behind.
@Hat: Atticus walks down the path and is nearing the city, when a kid, probably a couple years younger than he is, runs onto the path in front of Atticus.
"You there. I am training to be a pokemon master. Fight me, and I will prove that I am good enough to start my journey."

"OK, here I come!" The kid throws a pokeball toward Atticus, dropping just 10 feet away. Out of a flash of red light, a pokemon appears. However, at first glance, it looks just like a pokeball. Atticus is confused.
"Ok, Electron, Rollout on that Doduo!" As the boy says this, the pokeball starts rolling towards Doduo, gaining speed.

"Woah, that thing's fast! Watch out Doduo!" Doduo tried to jump out of the way, but the poke'ball-like Poke'mon pulled a glancing blow on Doduo. As Doduo turned around to face the still-rolling orb, Atticus pulled out his Poke'dex and ordered Doduo to do a Quick Attack.
The pokemon started circling around and Doduo attempted its attack, and as Atticus got a lock with his pokedex.
Voltorb. This mysterious Pokémon uses strong Electric attacks, and is often found near power plants. Use extreme caution; Voltorb may explode without warning.
The Doduo land a quick attack, but the voltorb doesn't seem too harmed by it. It continues to charge roll at the bird pokemon.

The voltorb was still rolling, and it didn't seem like there was much of a chance to get it to stop rolling unless there was a sustained counterattack. That gave Atticus an idea......
"Doduo, try to stop it by using Fury Attack as it rolls into range!"
If all worked as Atticus hoped, the furious barrage of Doduo's twin beaks would stop the Voltorb. Doduo would probably take a bit of recoil from the force of voltorb hitting it during the attack, but the recoil would hopefully be negligable.
Doduo's fury attack unfortunately only landed 1 shot. However, Atticus noticed that it did slow the rolling voltorb considerably, but not enough to stop it in it's tracks. And due to Doduo's attack, it was unable to dodge in time, taking the attack head-on.

Atticus cringed as Doduo took the attack head on after only landing one hit. While the attack had seemed to slow the Voltorb considerably, had it been worth it? Doduo had taken the full force of the attack, but it looked ok....still, he didn't want his new friend to be knocked out.
"Doduo, you can still do this! You can trust me! Now that it's slower, try another Quick Attack!"
"Doduuuuuuuuuuooooooo!" The twin-headed bird moved so fast it became a blur once more. Launching itself at the Voltorb, Atticus could tell Doduo had really gotten into the fight.
The doduo charged at the Voltorb, hitting it on the side. The force of the attack caused the voltorb to veer off it's course into the tall grass. No noise was heard, so from the looks of it, the voltorb is either immobilized or unconscious. Atticus saw Voltorb's trainer run into the grass. After a minute, Atticus saw the kid walk out, carrying a pokeball.
"You win. But next time, you won't be so lucky. I will train harder, and I will beat you."
Atticus gained 102 Pokedollars!

"Okay, Okay, we can look for more berries after the battle, ok? Even if he wins we can get some berries, alright?"
