Gible threw up sand and debris from its violent entry. This cut the attacks initial effectiveness but the ground indeed started to become unbearably hot. Rai shouted to encourage his Pokemon.
"You can take the heat! You're a dragon! Now do it! TACKLE! said Rai screaming the last word. Gible came up from the ground straight at Vulpix, intent on delivering a huge impact. This threw up a huge cloud of dust. When the dust settled...
Gible's tackle was enough to end the battle. Vulpix was recalled by its trainer when it was clear the fox pokemon was unable to stand under its own power anymore. Gary approaches to shake hands and congratulate you on the win.
Congrats! You beat Kindler Gary! Cubone and Gible each receive +4 experience.
"Let's do this! Cubone go!" said Rai as James sent out his Numel. As Numel prepared to unleash its powerful ground attack that hit all Pokemon but it, Rai made sure Cubone would be out of the way.
"Cubone, hop onto Numel's back! Then Bonemerang Nidorino!" Cubone hopped onto Numel's back. Then Rai and James' Pokemon unleashed their ground attacks in unison, Cubone with Bonemerang and Numel with Magnitude.
Adam and Eve told their pokemon to disrupt the attacks. As they took the hits, Nidorino went high at Cubone with a fury attack, and Nidorina low at Numel with a double kick.
Numel takes the kicks and looks a little dazed, but James and Rai hoped their powerful ground attacks had taken a deeper hit into their opponents, especially Nidorino, than the ones they had just received. Not wanting to risk accidentally harming his partner but also not wanting to waste any time, Numel sends a Plume of Lava at the weakened Nidorino, hoping to turn this fight to his side's advantage.
Nidorino and Nidorina both turned and charged in at their opponents, horns glistening with a pinkish hue as they weathered the attacks and tried to spear Numel and Cubone with the horns. (Poison Sting)
Numel takes the relatively ineffective hit, but it seems like there's a lasting effect. A woozier-looking Numel gets back up, sending off one more Plume toward Nidorino, hoping to finish it off before James recalls Numel and sends out Larvitar.
"Cubone, you've almost got it! Give it another Bonemerang!"
Cubone flung its club at the oncoming Nidorino before being knocked off Numel's back. While the sting didn't do much, Cubone certainly felt the ground's impact. Cubone got to its feet, but it clearly had to make an effort to do so. Rai decided it would be best to switch Cubone out.
"Starly, go!" said Rai as he summoned the new pokemon.
"Try your kicks!" Nidorino and Nidorina appeared to hold forelegs as the pair almost effortlessly spun into the fray, alternating kicks with their back legs as they closed with Larvitar and Starly. They didn't look too strong anymore; the battle was wearing them down slowly.
Once again, the strategy was successful. Larvitar's bite was enough of a pivot point for the Nido-ball's momentum that the pair went slamming into the ground. Adam and Eve returned their pokemon.
Congrats, you defeated Young Couple Adam and Eve. You receive a total of 480p, and Larvitar, Starly, Numel, and Cubone each receive +3 experience.
Rai sent out Beedrill and Gible and begun the battle.
"Beedrill, double Sticky Ball! Gible, Dragon Rage on Machop!"
Rai was targeting the slower Machop, hoping to score a powerful hit. Beedrill covered Gible as it aimed and fired, giving its full attention to maneuvering the sticky balls, aiming one ball at each. Rai was in sync with Beedrill however and watched the opposing Pokemon carefully, ready to change tactics.
"Chop that bug hard, Mankey! Take the hit and counter it Machop!"
Mankey was tangled up in the string, but dove in toward the Beedrill swinging its hands in a karate chop, while Machop avoided the strings as it took the hit from Gible and attempted to seek revenge for the damage it took.
Rai took control of the errant Sticky Ball via sync (as they had practiced before) so Beedrill could focus on its attack. "Beedrill, show Mankey your Fury Attack!" ordered Rai knowing Beedrill could take the hit and/or avoid it being super-duper resistant to fighting attacks. Gible would require a lot more effort to save from the incoming attack.
"Gible, blind that Machop with Sand-Attack!" ordered Rai while also having the Sticky Ball double back at Machop. He wasn't looking to hit the Machop, just throw it off-course so the Sand-Attack could take its toll.
The errant ball of strings dissipated as the grit and windforce of the sand attack scoured the threads into nothing. Machop closed for a decisive blow still, a fire in its eyes unlike anything Rai had seen before.
"Mankey, grab its stinger and give it a seismic toss!" Mankey had to take a few hits before it was able to grab one of Beedrill's forestingers, and then they wer ein the air, somersaulting as Mankey tried to overhand throw the insect right down into the dirt beneath them.
Mankey succeeded in throwing Beedrill to the ground. It struggled to stand. (Assuming its able) "Beedrill, show it you can still fight! Show them your rage, Fury Attack Mankey!" shouted Rai.
Rai hoped that the Sand-Attack bought him enough time to... "Gible, Dragon Rage again on Machop!"
Unfortunately for Mankey, it was still directly on top of Beedrill when the flurry of blows struck. It took a hard series of hits, including what looked like a pair of rather crippling blows to its midsection. "Mankey, focus away from the pain and on your opponent!" Mankey appeared to enter an almost trance-like state as it focused its energy for the next attack.
Gible, however, didn't fair so lucky in its bout. Machop's revenge was had, and it was violent. As Gible's next dragon rage was about to fire, Machop reached it. A powerful knee to the jaw of Gible forced its mouth to clamp shut before the dragon rage could fire, and with a series of maneuvers Machop had the Gible in a locking hold and suplexed it overhead and into the ground.
Conveniently, Gible was a ground Pokemon. It didn't make the revenge any less painful but it made the next move possible. "Gible, burrow underground then come up and Take Machop Down!"
On the other front Rai continued to press his advantage, noting Mankey's reaction to the midsection blows. "Beedrill, Fury Attack Mankey's midsection hard!"
"Machop, focus yourself and get ready for a low sweep when it comes up out of the ground." Machop did just that, entering a sort of trance until it could sense when Gible was coming for it.
"Mankey! It's going for your midsection, so counter with a low kick!" Mankey snapped from its trance, and while it took a couple more glancing blows in the process it managed to work a foot through Beedrill's assault and tried to kick the legs out from under it.
The land shark Pokemon rose to surface, its fin clearly visible and heading at Machop. "Gible, rise and throw sand in Machop's face and TAKE IT DOWN NOW!" shouted Rai. The two Pokemon met in a momentous clash...
Mankey swept the legs of Beedrill and it stumbled. "Beedrill, use your wings to stay upright and keep up the fury attack!" Beedrill buzzed as it continued its onslaught, darting through the air as it did so.
As Gible came out of the ground at Machop, both physical attacks struck the other as the sand and dust caught up to Gible's speed. The pair was obscured briefly . . .
Mankey took a handful more hits before being recalled by its trainer.
. . . and when the dust settled, it was a stalemate between Machop and Gible. It appeared that both pokemon were unable to continue the battle from exhaustion. Machop was also recalled.
"We're going to call this a win for you, on the grounds of Beedrill beating Mankey. Nice battling."
Congrats, you beat Crush Kin Mik and Kim. Beedrill and Gible each receive +5 experience
Rai shakes his fist at no one in particular for encountering yet another fighting Pokemon. "At least this one doesn't seem to have any fighting attacks. Magnemite, go!" said Rai summoning Magnemite.
"Magnemite, Lock-on to that Meditite and give it a Thundershock!" ordered Rai.
"You can take the heat! You're a dragon! Now do it! TACKLE! said Rai screaming the last word. Gible came up from the ground straight at Vulpix, intent on delivering a huge impact. This threw up a huge cloud of dust. When the dust settled...
