Gible focused on the pokemon that wasn't glowing when it could see through the embers of the last attack, and charged in with a tackle. (Sandstorm still in effect)
"Oh, so that's how you want to play? Well then, let's help our friend out here and take you down a peg, literally, with your new attack Take Down!"
OOC: I assume I can use this attack since the gym battle finished and Numel got enough experience. Also, I'm going to bed. Hopefully we will finish this up in the morning.
The evolution completed, and in place of Weedle stood a freshly evolved Kakuna! "Wow, awesome Wee.. er Kakuna! Kakuna, use Sticky Ball!" The Kakuna secreted string shot from its entire body and formed it into a ball, the process being much quicker than it had been in its Weedle stage. It fired the sticky ball of string shot, hoping to disrupt the tackle of Gible.
"James, keep up the attack!" shouted Rai as Kakuna fired its attack. Rai readies his Poke Ball which he was planning to use should Gible be weakened enough.
The string tangled up Gible's legs, causing it's momentum to send it off balance and roll across the mine path. It rolled up against the side of the path, and after righting intself again, started to growl at the two pokemon. It looked a little beat up, but still had plenty of fight left.
Rai decided to change tactics. "Kakuna, return! Starly, it's your turn! Use Quick Attack and distract it!" Starly flew around Gible rapidly without attacking it, hoping to keep it off balance and draw its fire.
"James, it should be distracted! Hit it hard with a Magnitude while Starly has its attention!
The attack shook Gible around, and the pokemon loses its footing and stumbles to the ground as rocks fall from the surrounding walls from the magnitude of the attack.
Rai's pokeball flies true through the air, and connects with the Gible. It shakes on the ground back and forth . . .
back and forth . . .
and with a soft chime as the sandstorm subsided, the light winks out. Congratulations, Rai caught a Gible! +1 exp to Magnemite, Shroomish, Numel, Starly, and Kakuna.
"Intruders!? The only intruders here are you!" says Rai, pointing his finger accusingly at the grunts. He then turns to James. "That Misdreavus seems like its the most dangerous, let's take it out first. I'm going to let him have it!" says Rai with a huge grin.
After two straight battles against ground Pokemon, Rai was very happy that finally Magnemite could fight a Pokemon electric attacks would work against.
"Magnemite, show them your strength! Turn Thundershock to full power, then blast that Misdreavus!" shouted Rai as Magnemite complied with the order.
The glowing orb encasing Magnemite split under the immense force of its full power Thundershock, revealing the Pokemon within. Magnemite emerged from its golden cocoon alight with energy, its Magnet held item making its attacks even more potent than normal. The energy could not be contained for long, and so Magnemite released it in a momentous blast of energy aimed straight at the Misdreavus.
Alright, let's do this. "Larvitar! You ready to start battling for me?"
Larvitar emerges from his ball and gives a determined nod. Clearly, this is a battle-loving pokémon.
"Good! Because I need you to land a (super-effective) BITE on that Misdreavus!"
Larvitar happily obliges, leaping and sinking its teeth in.
The combo attack of Magnemite and Larvitar struck Misdreavus hard. The ghost pokemon was not in great shape after the barrage, and for some reason was confused at having a Larvitar hanging from its backside. "Don't let it get away with that, Misdreavus!" Abe shouted. Misdreavus tries to hit Larvitar with what appears to be a psywave. (hp yellow, close to red)
With a gesture from Sarah, Gastly disappears briefly, only to reappear behind Magnemite (the darkness of this particular spot made the move easier). It attempts to lick the magnet pokemon.
Your quest won't be over with this battle. You still need to find the missing Miners and there was that comment Abe made about there being one last shipment... Maybe you should look into that... (*Hint* If you were the truck driver, would you drive your ill-gotten-gains towards where you got them or away from where you got them?)

"Got it!" says Rai. "Magnemite, when Gastly licks you give it a direct Thundershock!" he commands. He knows Magnemite can take the lick with its resistance and high defense while Gastly probably can't do the same.
Larvitar's bite dug into Misdreavus again, and the ghostly pokemon cried out again. With a disgruntled sound, Abe withdraws his pokemon from further harm, and shouts "You're on your own now, Sarah. I'm out of here! Can't win this one, we're at a disadvantage." With that, Abe turns and starts to run depeer into the mines.
Gastly tried to hypnotize the Magnemite. It's eyes started to glow a reddish hue as it stared at Magnemite. Sarah only watched as her "partner" disappeared before her eyes.
OOC: Just received PM from Ryoma informing me that this was in fact a Rocket Trainer battle. No catching. I'm going to edit my previous posts to reflect this information, and put in some Rocket interaction.
----------------------------------------------------------------------
"Nope, that's it. We're out of here as well, Gastly. Let's go!" Sarah withdrew her pokemon, and took off right behind Abe down the mine tunnel.
Congratulations, you have defeated Rockets Abe and Sarah! Larvitar, Magnemite, and Starly each receive +5 experience.
Rai has no choice but to battle the angry Clefairy...
He sends out Kakuna to try to hinder its movement. "Kakuna, String Shot!" With the Clefairy (hopefully) slowed, Rai recalls Kakuna and sends out his heavy hitter.
"Go Cubone, give it a massive Bone Clubbing!" says Rai as the Cubone hefts its massive Thick Club. It rushes the Clefairy in an attempt to land a decisive blow.
Clefairy was indeed tangled in the strings, but it managed to free itself by curling up and rolling out of the mess. It held the position as Cubone's club sent it rolling the other direction. It popped out, and started to sing. (Defense Curl, then sing)
The sing was effective putting Cubone into a daze. "Cubone, return! Gible, go! Use Dragon Rage!" said Rai returning his sleeping Pokemon and swapping it for a Pokemon with an extremely powerful move against low level targets.
Magnemite and Kakuna can now recieve commands non-verbally as they are in sync with Rai. Sync is added to my move variations and will be used later in this battle.

Rai is broken from his reverie as the gym leader Ashlee appears with her friend. Rai introduces himself to both of them and challenges Ashlee formally. He sends out Starly to face Ashlee's first Pokemon.
"Starly, fly up high and assail them with your loudest Shriek!" commanded Rai. Starly flew up high and assailed the Pokemon below with a symphony of shrieking, Starly's unique Growl. Rai hoped to keep this up for awhile, as sound could reach farther than the attacks of her Pokemon. He waited to see how the Gym Leader would deal with this.
If Ashlee simply waits it out/Hardens Rai repeats the move for a full 6 stack.
Ashlee smiled and tossed out her first pokemon. "Aron, ground it with a mud-slap!"
The Aron turned around and started to spin its tiny back legs, creating a storm of mud and dirt that flew through the air towards Starly.
Starly takes the hit but remains airborne. It's altitude slowly drops. "Fight it, Starly! Continue Shrieking!" The bird attempts to comply but it can only get off one more growl before it is beat up from the mud storm and grounded. "Starly, return! You did a great job!" said Rai, congratulating his Pokemon.
"It seems you earned your title as Gym Leader" says Rai to Ashlee in respect. "I'll have to give it my best. "Cubone, go! Use Bone Club to make a fissure in the ground to knock Aron off balance, then rush in and give it a direct Bone Clubbing!
Cubone showed off his incredible strength, its Thick Club impacting the ground creating a fissure in the ground headed straight for Aron. Cubone then rushed head-on at Aron, attempting to deliver a direct Bone Club to Aron's noggin. While Aron was armored from most Physical attacks, Rai knew Aron was extremely susceptible to ground attacks. Ironic, Aron just having launched one.

"Rai, this bite might be enough to handle this one. If you want to focus on that other tongue-happy phantom menace, be my guest!"

Anyway, with that Misdreavus dealt with, let's turn our attention to Gastly. Larvitar, come back. Go, Starly, hit it with Wing Attack.
