Bone Shield (Bone Club): Marowak spins its bone club generating a shield it can use to block attacks.
Fire Club (Fire Punch): A ranged form of Fire Punch. Marowak extends the fiery aura around his club then throws the flaming weapon at its opponent.
Shriek (Growl): Starly's form of Growling. It's only difference is the name.
Sticky Ball (String Shot): String shot is formed into the shape of a ball the size of a Koffing and fired. The ball is then guided by Beedrill via invisibly thin strings, continuing to track the target even if the initial attack is dodged. Beedrill can make two sticky balls at once, one per stinger but needs full concentration to control both of them.
Sync: Empoleon, Staravia, Magneton, and Beedrill are able to sense Rai's movements and gestures without looking and interpret them as battle commands. Empoleon, Staravia and Magneton do this with magnetism and Beedrill via near invisible string shot strings.
Name: Ryoma "Rai" Takeshi Gender: Male Starter Pokemon: Magnemite (Genderless!) Age: 13 Height/Weight: 5', 110 lb Appearance: Rai is short and slight of build. He has black hair and hazel eyes. He always wears his trademark blue and white light jacket and white cap with a small red R on the front.
Hometown: Pewter City, Kanto Province
Family: Rai's dad is Nanjiro Takeshi, a rock / ground Pokemon trainer. Rai hopes to become as great as his father but using the types of Pokemon he likes. Rai's mom Hanako Takeshi is a botanist with an affinity for grass Pokemon.
Goals: To have a great adventure, meet lots of cool Pokemon and have an awesome time. Rai's dream is to be a great Pokemon trainer.
---Adventure Log----
After receiving his Magnemite from Professor Pear, Rai left Shire Town and quickly caught a Starly and then a Weedle. Shortly thereafter, Rai battled Ace Trainer Glenn and was victorious thanks to Weedle's knowledge of the forest. Rai then traveled west training his Pokemon where they encountered a wild Rattata and defeated it. Then, with a great deal of luck Rai and company found a Cubone and battled it. It was a tough battle but eventually the Cubone was subdued.
Shortly after, Rai entered Slate City and began to investigate the disappearance of local miners with the help of another trainer James. Together, in a double battle Rai caught a Gible in the mines. The pair of trainers continued to search the mines and came across Team Rocket in the act of stealing fossils. They drove away the grunts who unfortunately got away. Rai chased their truck of stolen fossils while James searched for the miners. Only James was successful but together they completed the quest. Quickly returning to Slate via escape rope Rai and James collected their rewards, and Rai challenged Slate Gym Leader Ashlee. The fierce gym battle began...
Rai is a little disappointed he didn't immediately find his desired type of Pokemon but he quickly realizes this is the perfect chance to put his training into practical application. "Great job, guys!" exclaims Rai as he congratulates his Pokemon on their modest success in finding a Pokemon. "Weedle, its time to practice our Sticky Ball technique! Use Sticky Ball on that Rattata!"
The Weedle gathers its string shot into a huge sticky ball, much larger than itself (about as big as a Koffing) then fires it at the Rattata...
The giant ball of sticky string flyies towards the Rattata, it tries to get out of the path of the ball but it seems to follow it like a heat seeking missile. Finally the Rattata turns and charges towards Weedle with the ball still following it, then it suddenly seems to disappear, it reappears but this time its behind Weedle. As it swings in for its super Quick Attack, the sticky ball is still tracking the Rattata but now Weedle is between the ball and it...

Rai is amazed at the speed of the Rattata and at the skill of his Weedle in controlling Sticky Ball. He had not thought to teach it to guide the Sticky Ball and here Weedle was doing it instinctively. Weedle could easily change the course of the ball (via the tiny strings already controlling it) but it couldn't both do that and dodge Rattata's attack in the split second allotted to it. Rattata's speed made this battle a complete mismatch.
Rai did the only thing he could. "Weedle, return!" said Rai the red beam scooping up the Weedle just before its own move or the Rattata hit it. The sticky ball was still traveling in the same direction, directly at the Rattata who was Quick Attacking into it. The large ball hit the tiny Rattata who was now covered in stickness and pinned. Before the Rattata might gnaw its way free Rai sent out Starly.
"Starly, give it a Shriek!" said Rai commanding his pokemon to do its unique form of Growling. After the Rattata had a good taste of the loud and annoying bird call Rai recalled Starly for Magnemite.
The move hadn't been perfected in training but Rai hoped Magnemite would be able to call the attack in the heat of battle. "Magnemite, Thundershock!
Taking two turns at once here. Rattata should also take two turns. Shriek is not a new move, just a renamed Growl.
Stuck in the sticky ball and assailed by the Shrieking Starly, the wild Rattata turns inward trying to Focus and gain the Energy to break free of the ball... (Focus Energy)
It is able to break free but just as it is able to get to its feet and turns to face its attacker, Magnemite digs deep and lets of a huge bolt of electrical energy that heads directly for the Rattata. Growling in panic and pain the Rattata takes a direct hit... (Growl) (HP=Red)

Copying my first battle move from the main thread.
Ryoma is giddy with excitement. Finding a Cubone so early into his journey is truly a blessing. He opens his Pokedex to check the strength of the Pokemon, particularly the thickness of its bone club. He is impressed with its strength and moves.
"Great job, everyone. Now, let's work together to catch it! Weedle, you're up!" The Weedle hops off Starly and lands gracefully. Rai decides to try and take advantage of Cubone's lack of speed. "Weedle, use Sticky Ball! Don't let it run away!" Weedle complies firing a giant ball of string shot at the Cubone.
"Great job, Weedle!" says Rai congratulating Weedle on slowing down the Cubone. "Now, get behind it and use Poison Sting!" commanded Rai who hoped to exploit the speed differential of the two Pokemon.
The poison barb that Weedle struck with appeared to have very little effect on Cubone other than irritating it. It lashed out again with its Bone Club now that Weedle was in such close range.
With Weedle's only damage dealing attack ineffective, Rai had only one choice. "Weedle, return!" he shouted as the red beam snatched the bug Pokemon just before the Bone Club could hit. He replaced his Poison pokemon which was weak against Ground types with one that was strong against them. "Starly, you're up now!" he said, Starly taking up a battle stance in front of her trainer.
"Starly, Quick Attack! Circle around it and attack from all directions!" commanded Rai hoping that Cubone would be disoriented from being attacked from multiple directions, especially through the air.
"Great job, Starly! Keep it up!" says Rai continuing the Quick Attack based strategy.
Rai reaches for his Pokeball, making sure he is ready to use it when the time is right. When Cubone gets significantly disoriented and damaged from the attacks he throws the Pokeball at Cubone.
The Cubone closed its eyes for a second, and looked like it may give in to the disorientation. . .
In a split second, it opened its eyes and hurled its bone club at the Starly at just enough of an angle that it was able to predict the evasive slip and the Cubone tries to stop Starly's assault by meeting it with a Headbutt to stop its forward momentum.
Starly is headed straight for the Cubone with a high speed Quick Attack. She dodges the bone club and is heading straight for the armored head of Cubone. Rai makes a quick alteration. "Tackle it low!" he bellows hoping Starly has enough time to alter its trajectory. Starly increases her speed at her trainer's command to try to impact soft underbelly rather than hard bone.
There is a huge impact from the momentous clash of Pokemon. Rai reaches for a Pokeball and will throw it if the Cubone becomes further disoriented from the massive impact.
Significant change in tactics. Putting it all on the line here. Starly's pretty much done for either way. If it can impact belly it should be at low health, otherwise its KO. The combination of Quick Attack + Tackle into one extreme attack should deal moderate damage to the Cubone who has already taken some damage. More importantly, it should further disorient the Cubone and make it vulnerable to capture. That's my theory anyway.
The force of the collision between the two pokemon is powerful enough to send both of them into the dirt. Starly doesn't seem able to take flight right now, due to exhaustion, and Cubone is using its returned bone club to help it stand upright again.
The pokeball soars through the air and hits the Cubone. The song and dance of the capture process begins . . .
. . . and with a chime, the pokeball stops. Congratulations, you caught a Cubone!
OOC: I'm in your thread, stealing your battles! Double-battling wild Gible and wild Larvitar.
Alright, Rai! Let's make this a tag-team match for the ages! After Rai's Magnemite releases a Metal Sound against Larvitar, I will send out Shroomish to use Absorb on Larvitar. "Go a little easy on it, Shroom! We want it on our side soon!"
OOC: Oy, this will be interesting to run . . . doubles may make my head hurt ><
The pair of attacks seemed to work against the Larvitar, but it counters by thrashing about and starting to kick up a storm of sand around it and Gible. Gible, however, is less of a team player, and tries to peg Shroomish with a blast of Dragon Rage.
The dragon rage lands a rather devastating blow on Shroomish. "Uh oh, that's a pretty advanced attack. Come back, Shroomish! Go, Numel, you can handle this sandstorm!. Use your special attack, Ember, to weaken the larvitar a little more! Magnemite, can you help out with another Metal Sound to prime it first?"
After this round of attacks, I will throw my Premier Ball at the larvitar.
"Sounds good to me! Magnemite, give that Larvitar another Metal Sound then get back out of range of Gible's Dragon Rage!" commands Rai, hoping to avoid Magnemite meeting the same fate as Shroomish.
The combination of the two attacks scorches the Larvitar, and as it tries to charge in and bite one of its opponents, the Premier Ball hits it squarely in the belly. Trapped inside, the ball shakes on the ground . . . left and right . . .
left and right . . .
And with a chime that is indistinguishable from the noise of the sandstorm, the ball stops moving. Congratulations, James caught a Larvitar! (+1 exp to Shroomish, Numel, and Magnemite)
Gible had other plans, though. After seeing what happened to it's short-term comrade, the pokemon lashes out at the one making horrible noises with a blast of dragonfire. (Dragon Rage aimed at Magnemite, sandstorm still in effect)
Having gotten a little further back, Rai has Magnemite get even further back to dodge the Dragon Rage. "Magnemite, dodge and get back! Then use Metal Sound! James, have Numel use Ember!" The Metal Sound would be weakened but that was good as Rai planned to capture Gible anyway.
After the exchange of attacks, Rai decided to switch Pokemon. "Magnemite return! Weedle, go!" Interestingly as Weedle faced the oncoming Sandstorm.... it started to glow and changed into...
