Uruk follows the others in, breathing a faint sigh of relief over their luck, or skill, at avoiding becoming that day's target practice for a squad of archers. He whistles softly as they are guided through the halls. "This be a beauty to behold! Such exquisite craftsmanship and planning!"
Ir'Throsar starts inquiring the warriors about someone called 'master of masks', to no success. A dozen lame jokes about his own mask and his physical appearance, he starts to change the questions to determine who does Igniis go to for advice. Most of the soldiers point out Allar, who was apparently the captain you met. Some of them joke about his wife, too, pointing out the obvious fact that there is only one.
At this point, I think it should be obvious that you don't check other people's spoilers, plox. I'm just rolling the ones for the others, to get this over with, too. They won't even know their check results, bwahahahahahaha!
Infact, I suppose I should do that in sense motive checks anyway.. Because, you know, you're not supposed to know the results, and sometimes you as a player could miss a lie despite your character being able to tell it. So I'm just rolling in secret and not telling you anything if you fail. Or then I'm telling you lies if you FAIL. Or the truth if you succeed.
This should also make conversations run faster, since we don't need as many posts.
As far as you can tell, the man is being entirely truthful. He seemed too confused and embarassed to pull off good lies, anyhow.
It seems that the man was honest. He was legitimately confused about your inquiries, and your appearance seemed to set him off slightly.
Man seems honest.
There seems to be something odd about the man, and you can't quite tell if he's being honest or if he's lying. You find him hard to read and therefore, suspicious.
You get a gist that he knows something more than he's telling you, even though he is clearly speaking the truth. He doesn't seem very adept in social situations, and lying clearly wouldn't come naturally of him. He also seemed confused and embarassed at Ir'Throsar's presence

After finishing up with his rounds of the soldier's, Ir'Throsar goes over to Allar, gives a slight cough to announce his presence, and says "Pardon the interruption...." he pauses, and then adds "But the Lady of the Castle wouldn't by chance be at home would she?"

"I don't know, cousin," he says quietly. "This affair does seem unorthodox, but then again so is the idea of magical masks, too. Speaking of which..." he trails off. Reaching into his clothes again, he pulls out the mask, to wear this time. "Best to stay vigilant cousin, for if we're ready for it, nobody will be able to take us out."
"You're right." Skorri pulls out his own mask and looks at it for a long moment before he brings it up to his face. "I hope it doesn't come to battle, but I'll be ready if it does." He pauses, then in a bit of a rush asks, "Do you know any magic? I can take anyone in a fair fight, but magic...gives me problems." Vale can tell from his tone that Skorri's at least a little afraid of the arcane, and is probably embarrassed to admit it.
Ir'Thosar walks to Allar, who is running a drill as he claimed he would, yelling orders at a brigade of longbowmen. He seems focused on what he's doing, and is slightly surprised by the interruption. "I've told that I'm n..." He says, before turning around. "Oh, you..."
After telling the soldiers to start target-practice on sandbags, he continues the conversation. "I believe she'd be here. She has barely left her chambers for anything but dinner in months. She is not to be disturbed under any circumstances short of violent uprising." Allar shrugs. "Judging from what her handmaidens have told, you probably wouldn't want to meet her, either. She's been cranky for a long while now. Must have something to do with the child."
There are numerous abjurations in place inside the castle, clearly focused on protecting the building. Nothing out of the ordinary.

"Oh sweet Aurifar no." Allar exclaims. "She's waiting for one, and women can get pretty difficult towards the end." He continues, shrugging. "Don't mention complications at birth here, though. Igniis would be devastated if anything happened."
Some of Allar's equipment is magical. Not very powerful enchantments, however.

"Right. That would be most unfortunate." Says Ir'Throsar. "However it may seem slightly impertinent, but if you are not the one we seek, then perhaps the Lady of the Castle herself may hold some clues as to the whereabouts of the one we seek. And I would be most grateful to be allowed to speak to her."

"I can't give you entrance to her chambers for the very simple reason that I don't have access there, either. It's only handmaidens and Igniis who are allowed there." Allar responds, slightly sorry that he can't help. "If you want to speak with her before dinner, you have to find a handmaiden, hope that she's willing to help and then pray that the Lady is willing to leave her quarters, which probably isn't the case."
Allar shrugs: "I doubt she'd know anything, either way. She doesn't seem too interested in the affairs of the world for what I've understood."

"Ah right, the mask ya were talking about." Urak takes his mask out of his backpack to show the others that he indeed have something similar. "Don't really have much a clue what it's supposed to do though. Though it does make me feel a bit better when I wear it."
"Aye, I'm well versed in the Divine arts," Vale answers, "including how to stop magic" he says with a nod.
"That takes a real load off my mind. If you handle the magic, I can handle everything else." Skorri looks around at their surroundings, noting their quality. "All right, we have some time to burn. Do you think we should explore a bit, or just find a place to wait until dinner?"
"No, I don't really mind. I still have this drill to run. We'll meet on dinner anyhow." Allar responds. "The handmaidens are more or less the only women in here, apart from the few sorceresses, but you can probably tell those two apart." He continues, laughing a bit.

Ir'Throsar nods and says "Yes, I should probably be able to tell the two types of women apart." And with that he departs for the inner reaches of the Castle, looking to see if he cannot find one of the Hand Maidens of the Lady. As he is walking, he also makes observations about the Castle itself.

Ir'Thosar finds a handmaiden easily enough, one is running some errands regarding a guardsman carrying water in the lower levels of the castle. She notices your presence, and stops for a while, but continues afterwards. You can see the man is slightly envious of the glance she gave to you.
You assume the worth of the castle is 1,200,000 and upwards, depending on the quality of magical enchantments, which you cannot determine well. (Try using detect magic next time.). Only text you find that you cannot translate outright is in an old family tapestry, there are three words written in Ignan. They roughly translate to Fire - Glory, Passion. Your knowledge about planes tells you that if there was an extraplanar element to the castle, it would be hidden somewhere not in plain sight of everyone.

"No, she doesn't have the time." The guardsman who was carrying the water responds, in a freezing tone of voice, and continues to walk. The handmaiden gives you a glance and shrugs, and keeps walking with him.

Wandering the halls for a while, Ir'Throsar walks into what seems to be the kitchen of the castle - A large hot room with different kinds of ovens and pans and kettles, sizzling steadily. In the middle of it all there is a halfling standing on a chair ordering a bunch of helpers around: "Make sure the ankheg doesn't overheat! Turn the steaks over before they're overcooked, remember to add coriander to the chicken stew!".
What is of more interest to Ir'Throsar, is the bunch of handmaidens gathered in a corner. They seem to be hiding something, and the puffs of smoke coming from their direction gives a hint as to what it might be.

The expressions of the girls vary from startled to surprised to interested. There is a moment's silence where one of the girls tries to hide the bong behind her back, very awkwardly, but then one of them breaks the silence, walking towards Ir'Throsar: "Anything for you, pretty-boy."
