When the others get into the carriage, the human servant closes the door, and the driver whips the team of horses into motion. There are purple curtains at the windows, when opened reveal the journey the carriage takes.
The day's trek starts with moving out of the noble district, onto the South-Eastern Avenue: the broad, flagstoned road runs straight through from the middle bazaar of the city to the wall, and is crowded with enough traffic to the bazaar to make a trip that's fifteen minutes as a crow flies to an hour-long ordeal.
After that hour, the carriage leaves the white-stone buildings and grubby faces of the city, and take a less-traveled road South-East, a three-day journey to Fiore.
The landscape around Kaltheria is a mix of rolling hills, copses and small forests. Spread around the hills seemingly at random are dramatic greyish-green stones, jutting out from the earth as high as twenty feet; like daggers they stand. Half an hour into the trip, a large stream crosses under the road via a stone bridge, and follows the road, giving an ambient trickling of water to compete with the creaking of wood and the horse trotting.
The road leaves the stream in another three hours, and enters deep forest bisected by the road. On either side, towering conifers cause the sunlight to be obscured, firing rays of light through the thick needles.
In another half hour, you're jarred from the stupor of travel by the carriage, it has stopped. There is a latticed window in the front, through which the half-orc driver says, "Trouble ahead."
Yukora, not to be rude but could you please post something? I'm stuck waiting for your character's response to my question, and it's taken both of us completely out of the action.
The woman Chiro addressed simply said, "Iviss," and without looking at him as she walked with the others towards the cart. When she got closer to the door, she turned to Chiro and smiled. "Shall we?" she asked.
With that, she followed the others outside and into the awaiting carriage. After a short while, if anyone pays her much attention, Iviss obviously seems to be getting antsy.
When the driver warns the party of impending danger, Iviss actually smiles as she reaches for her weapons.
Siris shifts in his seat a little bit, trying to look through the carriage window to see what the driver was talking about, as well as pick up any noises if possible.
I'm really sorry, but I just took my computer in for repairs, so my activity is sporadic, always very short amounts of time, and I'm away from my notes.
No worries. I was just about to post an inactivity thing for myself. I am on vacation in utah and spending very little time online. Things will be better for me after new years.
It's the holidays, everyone is entitled, in my opinion.

I'll be sad if people don't start calling The Chain Veil "Fleetwood Mac."
I just wanted to be sure this campaign didn't get forgotten, really. I've joined four P&PI campaigns now, and two of them died within weeks of starting just because people stopped posting. I want this one to last at least a couple months.
Talore, my apologies. I didn't know you were having computer trouble.
Voronin follows Chiro out of the carriage, sword drawn.

There's also this little thing called Christmas that happened during that five day delay. I just assumed there would be no DnD during the holidays. I'm a much more regular and attentive poster in a normal week, but I don't get many opportunities to see my family.

Siris can move from the carriage with the others, but I would rather have the results of my Spot/Listen checks, if applicable. Don't want to run out without knowing what's going on
Silverthorn2009 is gone, it's been over a month since he's logged in. Sorry for the delays, we'll get right back on track here
In the distance, about 200 feet away, you see an upturned wagon, singed and broken. Dead bodies of knights and bandits lay strewn about it. You see a couple knights standing by it, bearing the royal blue of Kaltheria. They wave for you to come closer
Chiro walks towards the knights, his bearing distinctly different from before--he seems to be very aware and alert. He practically exudes readiness. "What happened here, sir knights?"
Activate senses aura (+2 to initiative, spot, and listen).
"Well, good sir..." says one of the knights. His full hemet obscures his face, but he draws ragged breaths. "Some bandits attacked the Knights of Kaltheria! We're just resting from the fight."
"Is anyone still about?" Voronin scours the landscape.

Some quick things. I just had my wisdom teeth out earlier today. I feel fine, but I might miss a post here and there tomorrow if I'm in pain. Right now, I'm feeling more than well enough to make posts on the inter-nets, so I might not miss anything. Just a heads up.
Also, I'm doing an annual competition that is VERY important to me on the 7th-9th that has no downtime whatsoever. I will try to find a spare second to post, but if I don't during that period of time, you know why.
After the 9th and onward for as long as I can see, life should be normal, and I should be on here.

"We'd greatly appreciate healing, the living of us sustained minor wounds. The rest are dead, though," the knight says.
Around you is deep forest to both sides of the road. The road turns to the right 30 feet ahead, and there is a high ridge with trees overlooking the turn. There's no sign of other bandits, only corpses.
Good ambush terrain. I'll be glad when we're done here.
Chiro looks back at the wagon he'd just left. "Anyone want to help out here? We've got injured, and we need to help move a caravan." To the knight, he replied, I don't think I can do much with the caravan, but if you show me all your wounded, I can start working on them."
"I'll help you with the caravan if I can." Voronin replies to Chiro and the Knights. "I can't lift it by myself, but if any of you are well enough, perhaps a couple of us could right it."
