Looking around everything has that burnt ashen look to it. And then there is the smell. It smells like the room had been filled with smoke that would never remove its scent.

Devon crept across the room slowly, keeping a sharp eye for embers, and heads for the dresser. He opwns it gingerly to see what remained of his belongings.
The room feels so unreal. The floorboards are burned and broken. A vase that had been in the room lies in pieces against the wall. And speaking of the wall in general there is a giant hole from where your main room and your bedroom were located. As you make your way over to the dresser you hear the floor creek loudly as if it was going to break from your weight. But it does support itself in the end. Reaching the drawer you open it to find that instead of your original belongings its filled with hundreds of photographs with their edges burnt. All of them are facing away from you though.
Man: Well give me a sec and lets see what I can make of them.
After a moment the man smiles and writes something down on a sheet of paper and hands it to you. It appears to be simple directions to finding a book.
Man: This should be more than enough to help you. That isn't a book code but rather latitude and longitude coordinates. Would have missed them myself had I not noticed that odd order they are in. Your going to want to go get this book i've marked down here. We have a copy of it its in archive section of the geography department so your going to have to be careful as your sorting through the books there. But its back there and if your interested in this specific location that should give you a starting point.

The ☺☺☺☺...? Devon thought to himself, trying to keep calm. Panicking will only make things worse. Okay then... Devon returned to the door, and tried to open it, although he felt he knew what the result of that effort would be.
"Thank you, sir." Still wish it was that chick. Damn, forgot to get her name last time. Robert makes his way to the geography section to find that book the man suggested. While he's there, he pulls out a few maps and finds the area noted by the longitude & latitude lines.

Your cries are in vain as no matter how long you bang upon the door no one will answer. You sit there for quite some time beating away at the door to find that it just will not budge. Then a voice, a very familiar voice, can be heard from behind you somewhere.
Voice: You know that if you keep doing that your never really going to get anywhere you know. I would know I've tried.
Robert:
OOC: A little flavor to add to you actions.
You arrive at the Geography sections and immediately set to grabbing maps and such. Your hasty actions though really lead to you ending up with a lot of maps that have nothing to do with you. Many of these seem like surveyors maps. Others maps of local towns and such. There even is a map of Europe. Finally though after settling down a bit you find the map youv'e been seeking. It is more or less complete. As you trace the lattitude and longitude lines you see that it points you north into Canada somewhere around Winnipeg. The area seems fairly non descript but that's really all you can tell from this map.
Its at this point that you decide to go and find the book marked out for you. Searching through the main stacks you defiantly find that it isn't there. Your going to need to go deeper into the downstairs section of the department to see if your searching there goes any better.
OOC: Library use check first. then Luck Check.

You turn around to see the room has again changed its appearance. Although this time its very minor. Everything is still burned but now a chair sits in the corner and shadows seem to block you from seeing the body and face of who is there. All you can make out is a gloved hand holding a drink and another resting on the edge of chairs arm as well as a pair of black boots expanding beyond the darkness. A stream of smoke is trailing off from the shadow in rings.
Voice: Oh come on you really can't tell who is there. Really we've become that dense now have we.
Robert:
You find your way down into the archives without much delay but the time you spend looking for the book seems to be ages. Eventually though in a darkened portion of the library you find the book. Its a simple looking leather bound journal from what you can tell held closed by a metal clasp. As you pull it off the shelf you hear somewhere nearby the sound of sever books falling.

Devon's legs were shaking, but he tried to put up a brave front. "Stop hiding in the shadows, and show yourself." He said sternly, trying in vain to quash the waver in his voice.
Keeping the leather book firmly in his grasp, Robert calls out "Hey, who's there?" He makes is way in the direction of the noise. Who else would be down here? I hope they're ok if they got caught under a pile.

Voice: For our own sanity I would rather not. My appearance can be starting.
Again you hear an exhale and again a large ring of smoke moves out into the air towards you. As it gets even closer you notice that the smoke smells like no tobacco product you have ever encountered. It smells much fouler.

As you call out you find no response. Trying to pinpoint the sound is initially difficult but after searching a few rows of the stacks you find the fallen pile of books. The shelf that they had been on looks like it has been broken from its exact center. But whats strange is that from the volume of books on the floor there is no way these books could have fallen by themselves. You hear the movement of more books somewhere outside of your view. You definitely have the feeling that something is up. On top of that you start feeling really really cold which is odd considering how warm this building was upstairs.

Ok, I'm not liking this at all. If whoever it is doesn't want it know they're down here I'm sure they have their reasons. I've got my book and a schedule. Robert makes his way out of the downstairs, mentally making the note to tell the man about the fallen books. I hope he atleast catches whoever did that. A person had to have broken the shelf- no way those books would have done it.

As Robert begins to make his way towards the exit he feels it get colder and colder and colder. Soon he finds himself shivering. As he approaches the stairs to go up they have been covered in what can only be described as ice.
Voice: I am surprised to see that we became this frustrated in such short order. I had though we were a bit more resistant and quick witted.
More smoke pours from the chair as the figure evidently begins to cough. Then you watch as one of the hands retracts back into the shadow and throws a photograph your way. You note that the hand never exposes more of the body than what you see The photo lands in front of you.
Voice: There I hope we enjoy our answer.
