DC 20 Sleight of Hand is the standard. This might, of course, have changed.
Thank you good sir. I've been a bit rusty over the past few years. Even when I played an assassin in my first campaign, my DM didn;t allow me to steal anything so I never looked it up
After much discussion amongst themselves, the traveling trio opened the double doors leading into the verdant castle. A pair of knight-stewards greeted them at the entrance. "We'll lead you to Wyott's chamber. With the heightened security, much of the castle is off-limits to the general public."
After being guided through a courtyard and a myriad of other chambers, they reached Wyott's chamber on the castle's fifth level. In the throne room were the two angels the group had seen before, one on each of the monarch's sides. In front of them were a druid noble from the Sun-Dappled Court in the south district, and a white-robed female. One of the angels turned her head toward the king and said, "Ah, they have arrived."
That should be all of the players now. Also I'd like to apologize for the delay in posting, but I haven't been feeling well this week.

A mere ten days after the Mending, a young knight of Valeron and a young ranger of Eos made a discovery that would change Alara forever.
"Your Majesty, I renew my objections about this whole war. It's uncivilized, barbaric, and the entirety of it is ruining Bant as a whole! I urge you once again to at least entertain the notion of peace talks with Jhess..."
The white-robed woman had raised her voice quite precariously, given her position. This was a king, after all. And even though every word she spoke was calm and collected, everyone could feel the pain and anguish she forced into that speech. She desperately wanted an end to the war, regardless of the outcome as long as the fighting ceased...
"Hm?" The cleric at this point noticed the angel and turned to see the three others who had entered. She frowned, something was off about them...
Since the girl was now facing the esperites, they could finally get a look at her. She was relatively short, almost a foot shorter than any of the others. Her long brown hair was neatly tucked underneath her robes, and her blue eyes were wide open, taking in the scene. It would be impossible not to call her at least mildly attractive but in ocmparison with the angels flanking her she was nothing special.
"Can I help you?" the sorceress asked in an indifferent tone, scanning thier minds for traces of energy.

She finds no traces of evil, but magical energy is radiating from the very bodies of the foreigners. Not an object they carry, but the bodies themselves.

"I am Morpheous of Esper and these are my two traveling companions. They can introduce themselves. A pleasure to make your acquaintace miss...." Morpheous bowed towards the two strangers.
"Morpheous? Esper? Neither of those are at all familiar..." Amy was confused, as it showed pretty easily. The cleric wasn't the best at hiding her emotions, not that she really tried.
"The knight speaks the truth. Who ARE you?" For whatever reason the cleric felt threatened by the strangers. Barging into the King's chambers, who knows what they did to the poor angels to force them to do thier bidding...
"Answer me!" Amy pulled out a solid wooden quarterstaff, held to protect her. She didn't know what to expect, and she wanted to be ready for anything.
(OOC: yeah, Amy is...easily excitible in this iteration of the character. Usually I have her more calm and collected, but w/e. You can tell she means well at least.)

As the Bantian Cleric put the quarterstaff in defense, Aero was now glad he had his manablade in his arm. Just a simple flick of the wrist and it was in his hand...if he needed too.
But Aero didn't want to have to do this. Two angels, a knight, and sorceress against himself, a cleric who would probably wouldn't help him, and a swordsman....Aero knew that his esper crew didn't stand a chance.
"Why don't we try to take a step back and be civil about this," Aero proposed, trying as best he could to throw his apathy and arrogance out the window. "You did not take our weapons and did not take the precautions you would against a threatening enemy, and yet we didn't do anything! Perhaps we should calm down and consider the idea that we are here for a good reason."
"Esper is our homeland and where it lies I cannot be certain. All I remember was after a cataclysmic event there while I was traveling on the beaches, I found myself wandering the sands of this..place and for some strange reason I had guilts about past opponents that I had bested in combat." Seeing the cleric draw her weapon, Morpheos placed his hand on the handle of his blade. "Now hold on there, I'm not here to cause trouble but if your asking for a fight I will defend myself accordingly." He quickly thought up a spell, but stopped himself when he heard the knight's shout.
Amy stood down, still visibly upset but seeming to calm herself down.
"You're right...I apologize...you do have to admit, it does seem very strange..." Putting away her staff, the young woman looked at the visitors carefully. "I can tell that you all are potent spellcasters, but...there's something strange about it."

Amy finds that these three have a limb or two made of a blend of flesh and some unknown, magical metal--the biggest source of magic in the room. She's never seen anything like this before.

A mere ten days after the Mending, a young knight of Valeron and a young ranger of Eos made a discovery that would change Alara forever.
Aero looked over towards Aurum and Morpheous, both of which had decided not to play it safe and had their own etherium exposed. "What was your first clue?" Aero asked sarcastically as he gestured to the etherium with his head. "Its called Etherium," Aero began to explain. "Its a magical substance that allows for quick and easy mana access." Aero semi scowled as he explained how it worked, having a slight taste of envy in his mouth as he remembered how the Seeker cut his ties to mana.
Aero looked around the throne room. It was a nice place. "Now then. Down to business." Aero began... but it was at this point, Aero wasn't really sure why that blasted sphinx sent them there. He looked over to Aurum..."Why are we here, blueboy?"
"Perhaps what they consider respect is different in Esper," Wyott replied. "Our history speaks of a land filled with grand structures made out of a magical metal; the Knights of the Reliquary have been questing Bant for centuries. We had no idea that even the land's very people would be infused with it. We know about several applications of the alloy, but we don't understand why you would give humans infusions of it, nor how you do it. Would you mind contributing where our research falls short?"

A mere ten days after the Mending, a young knight of Valeron and a young ranger of Eos made a discovery that would change Alara forever.
There was a brief pause. In Aero's mind, this was long enough. Either the two were unsure of what they should share about the core of Esper's lore, or they were truly stupid. Aero stepped up.
"Well, since those two won't answer, I will." Without turning around, he imagined Aurum rolling his eyes. This caused Aero to smirk. Aero unrwapped his left forearm to reveal his Etherium. He still couldn't believe the others were so reckless in this regard. They were lucky that these Bantians were civil about the strange newcommers.
"I don't know much, becuase I'm only a lowlife cutthroat from the slums of Tidehollow, but I've picked up enough to give you an abridged history. This is called Etherium" he said as he displayed his forearm. "Long ago, there was a sphinx. Crucius was his name. He created a method for this mix of metal and flesh. A method which allowed mana to flow easily through it and enable fantastic spell...cast...ing" Aero's eyes began to blank out as he stared out into space, recalling his days of spellcasting before that Seeker ended it. He shook his head and snapped back to reality for a moment. "Esperites loved the technique so much, that it has become a privildge only to the upper classes. Its a symbol of beauty and wealth. Esper is a culture that has completely formed around this. Its a sign of the haves and have nots....its a sign of the cans and cant's." As Aero began to rant, he started to scowl and stare downward. He glanced up to see the akward stares on everyone's faces. Aero hoped it was because of Esper culture, but he kind of knew inside that it was his spiteful and angry rant that did it. He opted to stop and glance out the window. Perhaps this was the answer to their respect question: Aero was a lowlife who showed no respect...
"A sphinx is a creature with the head of a human, the wings of an eagle, and the body of a lion. They are said to be very wise..." At wise, Aero began to think about what Sharuum had said.
"So Esper is like our Bant, except the magocracy holds the true power rather than the people," the king deduced. "All of Esper simply follow the sphinxes without question? Sounds like a civilization that basks in the glory of her past, instead of using the past to advance their way of life. Am I correct?"

Aero looked at the Bantians, almost scowling. "No." he said flatly. "The sphinxes more like intellectual beacons. Still, most of Esper isn't privileged enough to fit the bill."
Aero begins to quickly glance around the room to get a good sense of his surroundings. Spot check time.
Just as Aero begins looking around, the sound of a distant explosion fills the room. "The Court!" Wyott shouts, then gasps as he looks out the window. The pride of the nation of Valeron, the Sun-Dappled Court, was alight! "Send reinforcements! But...how could a siege-crew have gotten past our archers?" he asks himself as most of the soldiers leave the room.

Aero's eyes instantly widen as he assumes a colder exterior in preparation for whatever was to come. Aero rips his sleeves off and takes his gloves off. "I guess these aren't needed since you other two decided to not play it safe." Aero muttered, obviously annoyed at the two's mistake. He took his mana blade and tucked it back in its sheath on his belt. He rushed over to the window to see.....
Aero sees an array of obviously magical fireballs scorch the tall, sacred groves of the Sun-Dappled Court. There is obviously someone down there casting magic, but what kind of magic produces flame? Obviously not something he was familiar with.

Not recognizing this strange magic, he turned to the others. "I've never seen anything like this." His eyes froze in awe as he took a few steps back to let the others get a closer look. Aero shook his head. "We should probably take him out then."
Nevaq leaped into the saddle and rushed down the main road of the city at high speed, forcing bystanders to dive out of the way. He quickly overtook Amy and the Esperites. The cat-beast slid to a stop in front of the Court, and reared in fear of the flames. He gasped at what he saw: four of the great thuja trees of Valeron had burned to the ground, with three more alight. What happened next blew his mind.
"Rise, fires of the earth! Pyroclasm!" Columns of flame erupted around the male clothed lightly in short, primitive, red garments. Two knight-stewards could not stop their charge to stop him in time, their skin charred from the magical flames. With those two out of the way, he turned to the tallest tree in the grove. "Passion's flame, ignite!" he cried. "Firebolt!"
