I am going to be running a 3.5 eberron campaign. starting level will be 4. I am basing my campaign loosely on these books.
3.5 core rules.
eberron campaign guide (original)
sharn city of towers
explorers handbook
magic of eberron
These are the playable races
Human
Gnome
Half-orc
Half-elf
Elf
Dwarf
Halfling
Shifter
Warforged
The stat generation will be 72 point spread. 72 pts across 6 stats nothing below an 8 or above 18 before mods.
I am hoping to find players that want to engross themselves in this world. I award bonus xp for sketches, short stories, etc anything about your characecter, or the game that enriches our play experience.
Sign up here and contact me by PM.
also if you dont have the books dont worry, because i will go very far out of my way to help accomodate anyone that wants to play.
72 points???? that is an awfully high amount of points to be working with... are you planning on having characters with all their stats being 18 or something???

"As the size of an explosion increases, the number of social situations it is incapable of solving approaches zero." -- Varsuvius, Order of the Stick
I want high powered players because the game is going to be more story driven than combat driven. The challenges that a player will face in this game are much broader than combat. This isn't saying that most encounters won't involve combat, because they will.
This campaign will be more about role playing, searching for answers, suspense. The tone will be light, but the world is very serious, very dark. Although 72 points might be high, the skills and abilities players have will play a much larger role int his campaign than an average d&d campaign. Your available languages, social status, alignment, things that normally have minimal bearing on gameplay are of critical importance in this game.
Also I picture Eberron as a world where things that are seemingly farfetched are actually rather commonplace. In some settings a warrior with a 22 strength would be considered a god. On eberron every good adventurer has access to bulls strength potions, and all kinds of magic. Not only this but i see eberron as a world with far fewer commoners.
I would like for this campaign to stand out from others while still adhering to the rules. And if the characters are in fact overpowered, I'll just cheat a little.
Q1: Is evil available? I warn you that if I play evil, I probably will play evil.
Q2: What sourcebooks may we use apart from the core?
Q3: What level of optimization are you prepared for?

The Sage is occupied with the unspoken
and acts without effort.
Teaching without verbosity,
producing without possessing,
creating without regard to result,
claiming nothing,
the Sage has nothing to lose.

1. yes, you can be as evil as you like. the campaign is ultimately headed to sharn where the evilest of the evil can freely...be evil lol. By the way I do allow PK, but i will make the task extra difficult for you, and there might be dire reprecussions.
2.i would like to stick to just the core rules and eberron campaign guide. if you have a specific class or feat or something from another source I might allow it.
3. min/maxing is not a problem as this rpg will be largely about intrigue, imerssion in the world, role playing, problem solving, detective work, magic use. Also the characters will end up different levels because some will play more some less and if u dont post in an encounter you forfeit all experience from said encounter, so power level is less of a concern.
@ halinn do not be discouraged my friend, this game will be a great way to familiarize yourself with the world of eberron. I will help you with character creation and i will explain to you the major organizations in the world, give you all the background information pertinent top our campaign. I am willing to share anything from the books I listed in my first post. also you can google eberron wiki.
