Peabody leads the group through the confusing castle and back into the city. "Lord Anthivar wishes you to know that the disappearances have happened in the south-eastern part of the city, in the poor district."
Darkness has fallen over the city; the moon his high and full, providing plenty of light. A slight breeze has picked up, causing a whirring, moaning noise as it rushes through the empty allyways and streets. Nothing moves in the night. There is no light besides that of the moon. It's as still as a grave.
Peabody shudders. "Good luck with your investigations. I'm going back inside."
Everything scares me... kitties scare me... squirrels scare me... corpses....corpses bring forth a pletora of confusing feeling which i prefer not to dwell on...:p
Veyllim falls into step behind Saim. Based on the villager's fear of shadows, he has decided to be especially cautious at night while investigating this city.

Nobody can hear anything as they make their way from the castle. But wait. Saim hears a muffled noise. Could it be footsteps? It's difficult to tell. It comes from an ally to the side of the group.
Less than a second later, the same noise, in another ally, on the other side of the group. Saim might hear the strange noise, but he cannot see anything.

To alert the others that he has heard something, Saim, quickly draws his Thinblade and positions himself as to best see both alleys with only the slightest head movement. He readies himself for the possibility of an ambush.
The instant Saim draws his weapon, Veyllim's eyes dart around the area. After analyzing the situation, he reaches behind his back to pull his already strung longbow and begins to nock an arrow.
Hopefully to prevent being flat-footed.

Bel doesn't say anything sensible, muttering a few words in some unknown language, and touches Saim on his shoulder, apparently casting some spell on him. A moments later Saim grows to about double his size, as does all his equipment.
"See anything from up there?"

"That was very odd. As we started to pass between these two alleys I heard sounds of movement coming from them. The sounds of an ambush possibly but now it is gone." says Saim as he replaces his weapon on his waist. "Maybe whatever was there did not want to take a risk versus prepared warriors."

As everyone gets ready for combat, Saim hears... nothing. The sound is gone. There is no sound other than the group.
