Hey, silence, how does Jack know Terry's name if Terry hasn't given it yet? Sorry, I'm not trying to be nit-picky. It just seems odd to me. It'll make Terry think you can read minds or something
"HAH!" Raine laughs. "I don't think any of us are willing to stick out our necks for eachother. I know I am not convinced yet."
"As far as the boy is concerned." She turns to Terry. "It is time to grow up. I lost my childhood before I even knew what it was. No friends, no family, just my bosses and my training. Suck it up, you will be fine."

OCC: My bad, I thought your character mentioned his name. ><
Catching up with Raine, Jack kept a decent pace with her without saying a word about Terry. "Your name, I don't believe I actually caught it." Turning back he waved towards Helix. "Stay alive, it'll be no fun if your dead before our match."
Alright so (most) everyone has agreed to venture forth to the forest. For now there will be no actual "everyone heads there en mass" heading there as Roze won't be able to post until later tonight and Monkey might be "waking up in the field" soon as well. However if a couple of you want to scout the forest in detail while the rest remain to stand ready, that's fine.
~ As the group decides to venture into the forest, a body yet still remains in the field, unconscious but alive. The Tuan girl sits babbling to herself in quick spurts about the situation while thinking over her choice of going with the group or exploring the rest of the world.
Up to you guys if you wanna leave Monkey or have someone wait for him to wake up. The Tuan bit was just a way to narrate Roze's waiting
Julian stood there feeling rather invisible and started patting his pockets again. Ah gee, nobody asked my name or what I wanted to do... He thought sitting back down. "They're no fun at all. Guess acting silly didn't make any of them feel more at ease." Julian said, now thinking aloud. "But at least nobody tried to kill me... yet"
He turned his attention to the Tuan and sighed softly. He didn't really want to be stuck with her talkative self, but decided to anyway she might need some backup if the unconscious fellow proved harmful. "Oh don't mind me", Julian called to the group. "I'll keep these two company." With that he crossed his arms and closed his eyes, it was time to come up with a few plans. Besides they'd come back with the water, the Tuan needed it... and eventually so would he.
Julian still hasn't mentioned his name yet. And I'm surprised nobody addressed him, it's not like he kept quiet.
Then again, I did just wake up -- curse of going to bed after sunrise, you miss what the "normal" people do. Also nobody seems to be awake after 3am my time ^^;
it'd be nice if we agreed on a format for thoughts vs speech. some of us have speech in italics and half of us are thinking in italics.
Tai had been working late in the shop again, and had fallen asleep on one of the suspended machines he had been repairing. He had been dreaming happily of a world coated in metal, where artifice reigned supreme, when he was suddenly jolted out of his comfortable roost and thrown through a strangely textured turbulence. He was thrown down on the ground, and pain shot through his ribs. He looked up and saw a lot of bodies on the ground around him, apparently sleeping. "Huh. Well, when in Viriinia, do as the Viri..." He pulled his cap over his eyes and soon fell back asleep.
He was actually awake before you guys, but decided to go back to sleep
....
Hearing some sounds now, Tai drifted on the edges of consciousness, back in his metal fantasy. He was happily dreaming of it when a small rodent-like animal rudely scampered over his face, waking him from his lovely dreams. Sitting up spluttering, he pulled his cap back from over his eyes and saw the bodies now standing up at the edge of the clearing, looking back at him and... what is that? Well, whatever it is, we can become friends later he decided, looking at the telltale bulges of tools in the creature's belt. Jumping to his feet and securing his shoulder bag, he called out,
"Hey guys! I don't know what or who most of you are, but hello!" *Here he waved energetically at them* Walking over to them and adjusting the bag to be comfortable, he said,
"My name's Tai. Tai Melern. What's yours? Where are we?" He asked, looking for the first time at the surroundings around him. Looking back at the group, and surveying their oddities, he continues with,
"And what are all of you? I recognize his race-" *gesturing at Sy* but the rest of you look reeeaaally weird." *Yawning, he points at Graka* "Especially that person." Noticing that the group appeared to be looking at the forest apprehensively, he asked,
"Are we going in there? If so, you might want me near the front, I've got excellent night-vision." Tai beamed and waited for someone to reply.
I opened one last year, got two crap worldwake packs and 8x scathe zombies, which I promptly hid around my sister's apartment for her roommates to find. But, yeah, it was a piece of crap.
You, sir, have just won the internet. Congratulations.
Graka lept up as Tai awoke.
"It's awake, let's go. My throat feels like sand. I need water now and yes I'm sure I can erect some form of filtering apparatus should the need arise."
"I may be able to help boil it if that helps" Julian said to the group. "That is if we had a fireproof pot and some kindling..." He smiled, happy that the last to wake wasn't going to try to kill him.... yet. He fell in with the group. "By the way, my race is something called human. It's up to you whether you believe that or if that information helps."
~With the the group now set on heading to the forest, everyone started their trek into the wilderness, chatting along the way.~
~The forest is oddly darker then the world outside, as if night has a hold over the black barked trees. With pale gray leaves and a disdain for any form of color, the forest looks like an unfinished painting compared to the rest of the world. The ground is soft but stable, and even though the entire place looks and smells dead, it is very much alive. The only sounds that can be heard is the group's various chatter and footfalls. Somewhere off in the distance an off wind ruffles a tree making a soft hiss~
Wow, the campaign has been up for one day and we're already FOUR PAGES IN! And we just left the 'entrance' too. Very nice guys, keep up the good work.
Ok, now it's up to the group as to what to do while in the forest, I'll let everyone get some fun in before we get too far in or find the water.
Graka collected samples along the way. Leaves, grass, soil, bark, a dead caterpillar, anything that she could fit in the empty pouch on her belt that looked interesting.
"An odd quality indeed." she muttered to herself, agreeing with the Air Hunter that she was glad she hadn't hallucinated. It was good to see something familiar in this strange land without water.
"You are right Air Hunter," she said to Icthys, "These samples do have an odd quality about them. I suspect lack of moisture is to blame. Must run more tests..."
At this point, Terry didn't even bother to listen to his new companions' conversations anymore. He couldn't care less what they were talking about. He didn't even care about the talking animals anymore. To him, he was as good as alone.
"I'm going to die...or one of these people is going to kill me...which would fall under the category of 'I'm going to die'..."
"'Find something worth contributing to the group'? I'm a bookworm! What could I possibly contribute?! 'Hey, Terry, why do you read so many books?' 'Because reading them is useful.' Oh yeah, real ******* useful they are now!"
While Terry thought, he finally got a good look at his surrounding landscape, only to study it even more.
"We're in a valley...It's bowl-shaped...Symbol for fertility? New life? New beginnings? It certainly seems like an appropriate place for people to start a new journey...I wonder if it's spring...That'd be rather fitting..."
"And if it started raining when Jack punched me, ha, that'd be great. Well, not great for the collective survival of everyone gathered, but it'd be a very appropriate literary device...Rain washing away my assumptions of this world...Symbolic cleansing...Yeah, I rather like that..."
He looked back at his companions and found his gaze resting on Sy. "This is so surreal...A talking Corgi with a sword...I'm sure I can find some geopolitical metaphor for that...Politics...Talking animals...Animal Farm? No, that's not right..."
As the group split, Tai fell into step quietly along Sy. "Us Viriinians gotta stick together, right mate? As I said, I'm Tai. Who are you and who are the rest of these fellows? Did she-" *Tai pointed at Ichthys* "-mention something about water? One sec, let me check."
Here Tai lept into a nearby tree, easily swinging himself up the branches. Noting the direction, he jumped down, grabbing a branch and swing around it to slow himself, and landed right where he had been.
"Yup, it's that way, just like she said. We should probably get a move on. We can talk while we walk."
Tai turned to go, and then looked back to see the kid looking lost and alone. Changing direction, Tai walked back over to the kid, grabbed his arm lightly and pulled him with him and Sy.
"You look a bit lost. Why don't you come with us and then at least we'll all be lost together!" Tai said cheerfully, smiling in a friendly manner.

Alright peeps, those who are skilled in tracking and exploration best start looking for out of place things. I'd like to see who caught what and try to make the trek through this forest a bit more interesting then getting their without anything interesting happening.
Julian squinted, it was seeming awfully dark in the forest, He decided to try creating one of his firebolts, but over the palm of his hand instead of as a projectile. Recognizing he was probably the only member with flame retardant clothing he fell to the back of the group saying "I'm gonna try for a light." He then tried.

Recognizing he was probably the only member with flame retardant clothing he fell to the back of the group saying "I'm gonna try for a light." He then tried.
~With a flicker of light a small ball of fire appeared in Julian's hand, it danced wildly for a time, but remained stable. The flame lit up the area just surrounding the group, but caused a rather loud disturbance from the forest around them. Trees and bushes ruffled violently around the party accompanied by several hisses before the world settled back down into quiet darkness~
Tai was confused by the man's strange actions. Couldn't he just see in the- *here Tai's train of thought derailed as a light popped into existence in the man's hand*
"You can do magic too? Cool! You have to show me that trick sometime, please?". Tai's ears twitched as he listened to the woods' reaction.
"I don't think this place likes you very much. Well, you can teach me that later when we reach the water.". At that, Tai turned back around and started walking back in the direction he came from, pulling Terry with him once again.
"Come on, let's try to get there first!"

Terry recoiled as Tai approached him, but did not find the strength or will to resist, so he resigned himself to get pulled by the talking feline. As he began walking with...a dog and a cat...he looked around at the trees surrounding them, puzzled by their appearance.
"How odd...it's almost like...this area is less defined than the one we woke up in...It's almost like it needs to be...filled in..."
"I'm not even sure where we are. No one is. This isn't Earth. Is this perhaps another planet? Dimension? Another universe entirely?"
"That reminds me..." Terry reached into his pocket and pulled out his cell phone. "It won't turn on...It was fully charged too..."
Sighing, Terry was about to put his phone back into his pocket until he saw a small fireball appear in Julian's hand.
"...Did he just...No way...Well, actually, compared to everything else that happened so far, whatever that was is pretty acceptable..."
"However...it seemed like...the atmosphere around us reacted to him..."
Julian's smile faltered "Guys bad news... I don't know how to put it out unless I throw it... and... We're surrounded by kindling and what feels like angry beasties or worse..." Right now he was glad he hadn't told the group his name. They couldn't correctly curse him by some deity... not that a deity would waste it's time on him. "I suggest moving as fast as we can see or at least not dying"
~As the group talks amongst themselves for their next course of action, a freak and violent flash of lightning brightens the world for a brief instant, striking the field where they all arrived. In a brief moment the world seems again different as the light fades from view~
And now Rai has been transported to the world. Up to the group to see if anyone wants to go back and investigate the lightning or continue forward.
Rai, you're alone in the field. You can pretty much choose wherever you want to go from this point, but unless the group is intentionally very noisy or someone goes back to investigate, you have no idea there are others so close by.
Helix looked towards where the flash was, and took off towards it, as quick as he could, but trying to not make too much noise.
He concentrated on his blade in case the need to fight arose.
~The others look on for a moment as helix bolts out of the woods and back to the clearing where they all arrived. Propped up against the side of a rock lay a knightly looking man with dog the size of a small horse at his feet, both unconscious~
"...Where am I?" the young knight thought, his eyes opening to the billowing, dark clouds above him. He could tell the wind was blowing from how the prairie-tall grass swayed about, but his ears told him otherwise. Just as he was about to sit up, a howl startled him, quite loud due to its proximity. He turned his head to see a beautiful white wolf almost the size of a horse, its green riding tack matching one of the colors of his outfit.. "Oh, it's just Sky." Having awoke in an unfamiliar place, he checked himself to be sure everything was there--most importantly, his blade and steed were at the ready.
"Where are we...? This isn't White Gate..." Rather than the bright, blue sky he was used to, it was as though the sky was one huge, perpetual storm. Lightning flashed, but it wasn't raining anywhere nearby.

A mere ten days after the Mending, a young knight of Valeron and a young ranger of Eos made a discovery that would change Alara forever.
Graka began circling the man. "Clothes feudal in nature, suggest nobility, steed strange, also not from Octovaria, perhaps one of the "Hu-mans" pale skin supports theory...must ask, Where are you from stranger?"
She billowed her cheeks and chest again like her bullfrog cousins eagerly and licked her eyes, still parched, but interested in this new development.
