Simply because I think people are RPing while they play RPGs too much, I am going to create some straightforward , something REALLY straightforward, where I am not even going to bother explaining how you encounter something. Yes. I am hosting an arena game.
Here's how this works: You start off at level one, you then enter the arena and fight a combat, if you win this combat, you move on to level your characters to the next level and gain enough gold to bring you to your new character level's suggested amount (Not including gold used on used consumables, cold spent on those will stay spent.). This continues until you are level 20. If you fail, you get one re-try, if you fail that, too, you'll continue moving on, levelling as normal.
Death isn't permanent, or even temporary. Just imagine that this place is created by a high level true neutral being that knows a certain kobold who is using candles of invocation to provide him with a lot of scrolls of true resurrection. Death, however, lowers your scores.
Scoring is simple:
Winning a combat on 1st try: +10 pts
Winning a combat on 2nd try: +5 pts
Winning a combat without casualties: +2 pts
Drawing a combat on 1st try: +5 pts
Drawing a combat on 2nd try: +3 pts
Each character death on final try: -1 pts
And I also reserve the right to give bonus scoring for special achievements ({e}), like winning combats without taking a scratch (), or winning a combat in the first round (:D), or both (). Or just being a plain bad-ass (:cool2:). Or from playing a truenamer. ()
===========
The encounters you will meet will be devilishly difficult and WILL kill some players of the group. They might very easily TPK the group if you make mistakes, or play weak characters, like truenamers. I suggest you to optimize your character, although if it goes to TO, or into anything generating infinite something, I'll have my special plans ready for you. (:ria::devo:)
To build your characters you get maximum starting gold, 32 point buy (non-mamelon) and fractional BaB. Racial Paragon classes are okay, leadership is banned. Thrallherds only get commoners as believers, and a warrior as the thrall. (And you don't even get to build them yourself. )
I will take in 5 players. (Halinn/Sepiriel have spots reserved, for being themselves.) I might run this again at later date, for a different group, though.
1st: Halinn
2nd: Sepiriel
3rd: Kirby
4th: Alacar
5th: ASA
Finally, remember: Build your team together, 5 characters as a team > 5 characters not as a team.
Here is a goodluck charm for all of you, you will need it.
*Disclaimer: Despite the overabundance of ugly smilies in this post, this post is entirely serious. This "campaign" is meant to allow you to test your stupid character concepts, and improve your D&D skillz. It might not work if you don't have uninvested skill points, however, and if you do, you'd definitely be better off spending them somewhere else.

In!... oh wait im already in hmmm either a melee or a cleric thats what ill play still deciding.
I have decided I will play a Sorcerer/Rainbow Servant (or whatever its called :p)/Geomancer... well maybe ill change Geomancer for some other class but right now assume its geomancer :p.
Also any specific rules for Sorcerers? Do we roll HP?
Use Full/Half/Full progression on HP. I'd hate to see one of you gettin screwed by rolling just ones.
As for sorcerers, I believe you can use the Jen's bonus feats funnyness, because that might make the sorcerer worth playing.
(Usually Rainbow Servants are warmages, though, as they know their whole spell list and when they get their capstone ability, they will be able to cast any cleric spells SPONTANTENOUSLY. Sorcerers merely add the cleric spell list to theirs, not to their spells known.)

Yes im aware of the fact the Rainbow Servant only adds the cleric spell list to the Sorcerers, still its not a bad deal since its the entire cleric list plus what i get for sorcerers, flexibility is good specially when i can emulate inflict spells as well as harm and cure spells.
But if we end up with lots of spellcasters i can always go melee so no problems there
Seems about right, Halinn. I'd just be a bit worried about the levels 1-7.
Also: BUMP. Three more brave souls needed.

I'd be interested. Just not sure of what to play yet. It's been a while since I've made anything too serious.
How will preparing spells work? Is each battle going to be a new day or will it just be a fight until you drop situation.
Nevermind that, we've already got someone who would probably play a better caster then me.

Martial adept should fit in fine.

Getting killed completely probably won't happen, unless someone decides to be truly inactive. I'm hoping I could run this for same characters on levels one to 20, so we could see how those characters fare at each level, and not how they fare at their "sweet spot".
It might take a while if players here are active, and if I don't get more players to start a second group. (I mean, there probably aren't many over 10 active players in P&PI..)
I'll leave it up to you, I am ready to pause this for a while if someone drops out, but if you have a character sheet ready It's definitely not a bad thing. Of course, the problem is that if someone drops, we cannot know at what level that happens..
Probably easier for you to create a sheet when someone drops/second group starts.

Sigh. Potential characters so far are:
1. sorcerer/rainbow servant
2. factotum
3. monk/duelist
4. martial adept?
So, I guess I will ask: can I take levels as a monster class?
Taking levels as a monster class is allowed, but as per the book, if you start it, you can't multiclass out of it until you are done with it.
