I am working on a glossary of terms to give to some of my newer players to explain planes, alignments and outsiders amongst other things.
Currently I am stuck on defining the Prime Material Plane, since I want the party to be a group born on one of the Outer Planes I can't use the default explanation of "Your home plane, where most adventuring takes place".

I believe the Prime Material plane is, by definition, the center of most DnD cosmologies. I'd describe it as "The center plane of the cosmos, home of most mortal humanoid races."
The Prime is always the center--and the definition of "Prime" is relative to where you life. If you're a Fire Elemental, your Prime is the Elemental plane of Fire, not the physical realm we call the Prime. But yeah, more or less, the Prime's the center stage plane.
...the Outlands are the center of the multiverse I thought. Isn't it only foolish Primers that are under the impression that the Prime material plane is the center?

If you're using that chart, then what's your problem? The Prime Material is in the center.
If you're having trouble defining what the Prime Material Plane is, it's the center of the multiverse, where physical beings exist in the world. In out-of-character terms it's basically the primary world in which most D&D games take place.
Well, yeah, YuanTi.. you're right, and those rules supercede the rules we've given, but for a collective definition of terms, The Prime is the center and all that.
