No, for example you can go Fighter 6 || La +1 / Monk 5
For the first level, it's generic fighter. For the rest, use the combined monk/fighter for determining abilities.
Oh, one important thing I forgot to mention: Base attack bonuses are partial. With the gestalt rules set, a wizard 6 || la +1 sorcerer 5 would have +5 base attack bonus, which is stupid. So just add the fractal base attack bonus, rounding down at the end.
If you have the same BaB progression as:
Fighter - +1 per level
Rogue - +0.75 per level
Wizard - +0.5 per level

SO yeah, just so that's clear.
Okay, that is seriously confusing. And in the Gestalt rules, its the same level for both classes, not one then the other, at least thats what it says in the books.

I say different, why should LA take up both classes? It'd be like racial hit-dice taking up both sides of a gestalt, just dumb. Gestalt is made for making cooler characters, so that someone can be a minotaur fighter, etc.
yeah, and doing the LA for one side just makes it more complicated when keeping track of the level dependant stuff. its a lot easier to just go with the same level on both. i didnt think you would mine me wanting to play my guy a little weaker for the sake of keeping it easier on an already difficult to play medium like the forum.

If it's so hard for you, you can give yourself the arbitrary LA on the other side. It really isn't that difficult though.
Edit: Pretty pointless. sorry, i'm a little slow right now. lots of life happening, life hitting the fan, and i seem to be stepping into alot of life.
Anyway, working on getting sheet up right now, should we roll for health on here?
Edit: And you never answered me on the alignment
He mentions how to do health in the original post. Full health first level, average roll for each level after that.
And for what it's worth (I know this is up to Talore) but I really like Talore's "no evil characters" rule. I don't understand why a Lawful Evil guy would be adventuring with us.

I'll be sad if people don't start calling The Chain Veil "Fleetwood Mac."
That's okay. I changed my mind on the whole alignment thing after reading up on the things themselves. Lawful Neutral is more the style i was going for anyway. Personal Code of Conduct rules my life, nothing more, nothing less. So, when do we start posting the actual characters on here, instead of outsourcing to other sites. If i wanted to play on those sites, i would play there. But I want to play here.

I believe we play here. Myth-weavers is just very handy templating, for hosting character sheets.

It's private, but that's fixable. The interface isn't terribly clear, but just click the gray eye on the "sheets" page. When it turns black, your sheet is public.

I'm not familiar with the whole Gestalt thing though.
10)Health points are max first level, average for others.
So for cleric/monk, both are hd8. So I get an auto 8 for level 1, then roll 1d8 for levels 2-6?
No, it's eight for first level, then 4 for second, then 5 for third, then 4 for fourth, etc. Basically the average of a d8 is 4.5, so you get 4.5 hp/level, alternately rounded up and down.
You roll 5d6 seven times, dropping the two lowest d6 from each set and the lowest total. This means a max of eighteen; you've got one listed in your notes as 21, so I think you did it wrong.
Also, monk requires lawful.

I think Cabal made the same mistake that I did the first time around, judging by their stats. I know it's a common trope to drop all the dice except the highest three, but it wasn't stated anywhere.
*is still a little bummed about no longer having +8 dex* ...but it's nice to know I'm not the only one.

5d6b3 means roll five six-sided dice, best three. Sorry if that wasn't clear; used to the roll codes @ GiantITP. =P

I think that I'm good. I fixed any errors that people pointed out.

Ok. So if my rolls are (http://forums.mtgsalvation.com/showpost.php?p=6032381&postcount=4)
10, 16, 15, 17, 17, 22, 15
21, 17, 18, 14, 17, 18, 17
That means I would take...
22, 17, 17 and...
21, 18, 18.
?
(Siggy adapted, DarkHunter1357 (deviantART))
No no, you need to actually go into your 5d6's, and take the best three D6 of them.
So if a 21 is (6-5-4-3-3) then you drop the lowest two, getting (6-5-4), which gets you 15.
