After the fiasco that was [Case Designate: Cloverfield] (My mistake was that I took too many players on board) I want to try something different. Something for.. one player, maybe two. Three max, if that. And I want it to be atmospheric instead of chaotic.
I want to go back to everyone's psychosis-triggered-nightmare-fuel dump, Silent Hill.
Anyone interested? It would be d20 modern, though not as hack and slash as the usual D&D (or even d20) game.
I'm definitely interested, regardless of system, but does it have to be limited to d20?
Didn't Nai decree that we could also use White Wolf and Chaosium's systems?
Whichever.
If we are d20 Modern, I'd like to play a Dedicated Hero.

Never forget: there's always someone bigger, better and stronger than you.
Someone once asked me why, when I talk about House Dimir, I don't put the word "the" in front of it.
At the time, I had no answer, but it just came to me.
Do we put the word "the" in front of God?

Fenris, it's me. I'll explain much.
d20 modern is remarkably simple at lower levels, so we'd have to see at what level Alacar is having us start at.

I've never run a WW or Chaosium game before. I stick to what I'm good at. If you all prefer we could forgo the whole game system thing in general and just use a simplified freeform RP system.
Sooo.. 4 people interested? Hm.. this is where I have to make a decision.
Typically, Silent Hill games are predominantly about one person. A main character. The other characters are typically all entwined with the main character's "issues". So here's a question: Do I run one game for 4 people, one game each for 1 person each, or run 1 game with one main character and three "secondary" characters, with whom I might have to collaborate with? After all, the secondary characters can be just as important as the main. Just because you don't get the 'lead' doesn't mean you're not important. Or maybe you think you're a secondary character when it's really just been your story all along?
I'm actually leaning towards using no real game system for this game, by the way. The combat is supposed to be difficult, after all.
So, if there's not going to be a set system, then how are combat and social interactions going to be determined?

Should be by simple personality traits and the ability of good RPers. I mean all of us are good rpers so we should be able to handle basic social conflict except you know Giga who might try to woo everything that comes our way. Guns always have a chance of missing especially in untrained hands as do fists and stuff. You really could make do for all of it just off contextual things.

"Should be" and "are" have two different denotations and dissimilar connotations, Fenris.
Besides, if it comes down to descriptions, then I get to let the Exalted player out, and things get messy.
I want a definitive statement on 'how' from Alacar.

Good good.. Besides a d20 modern character sheet, I want the following from you guys.
Character Birthdate
Astrological Sign
Biography I want this one to be especially detailed. Include any major events in that person's life. Good and bad. Almost no one in the Silent Hill series is free of trauma and sin. The game is set in 2009, so set it in that time frame. Psychology This is the one where I want the most possible detail. What makes your character tick? What are his/her strengths? Flaws? What has affected them the most? What makes them happy? sad? angry? What are your character's talents? Who in their life is important? No person is flawless. In fact, people have a lot of problems if you examine them closely. Appearance More than just the basic height/weight/eyeskinhair color, I want a good look for the character. I want a good demeanor. Reasons for coming to Silent Hill This is more for me to toss around ideas and get a good idea as to why the heck your character would come to this ghost town. List as many possible reasons as you could think of. Don't dwell on a specific reason/idea too much. I want to try and fit you guys into the world seamlessly.
Ti'rin, I want the best you can give me. The only requirements I have in your regard is that (at least) you have someone very important in your character's life--living or dead. A relative, a friend, a lover, whatever.
Everyone else is very welcome to have important living/dead people in their lives.
Otherwise, here are your system requirements.
Race: Human
Level: 1
That's pretty much it. You can even be a kid if you want (not you, Ti'rin.)
Alright, so if we're filling out d20 sheets, how are we going to do relevant stats and skills?
You want us to roll and present them to you as our option?:D
If I were to make my character modern d20 straight on, she'd be a Dedicated Hero by name of Dani Glass.

I think there's a public-view "other notes" section, so I'll include all the additional information that you want in there, alright?

But if we are in d20 modern someones going to have to do a bit of explaining as I have no clue about that.
And Chaosium's system would work exceedingly well but I am horribly biased with the whole call of cthuthlu thing.

As for conversations? It's all based on the characters. If it's freeform RPing then it depends on the character more than your lucky roll of the dice.
If your character is trying to do something complicated, then roll a die. You might succeed, or you might have always succeeded--it's up to me.
If you guys would prefer d20 modern we can use that.
