As for my adherence to canon, I guess its just because I enjoy it that way because it makes it feel like the game could have really have taken place inside the universe.
On Echani: Yeah, that's why I'm not sure how Mindrot plans to play as one, but it is a race.

Ok, how does this look pre-bio? The way I'm thinking is he doesn't realize he uses the force. When he is concentrating really hard on, say, seeing a target, sometimes it seems to become clearer. Does that sound ok?

Kylie Denton was born in space, just outside of the Corellian system. Her father, Marcus Denton was a tradesman, repairing ships, droids, speeders, and other systems. They lived on a small space station that her father had earned with his hard work. Her mother died in a repair accident when she was still young. The Empire was still relatively fresh.
Kylie was raised in space and followed dearly in her father's footsteps. Not physically notable, she devoted her mind to developing her skill with intricate system repair. She was not as good with droids. She worked on her father's side doing deliveries of repaired and upgraded work starting when she was just thirteen. Her father's business was too small to be on the Empire's radar.
Four years later at 17, Kylie's life changed forever when her father left to deliver some highly sensitive surveillance and stealth equipment to a suspected location on Dantooine. It was then that, according to the Imperial reports, her father was drawn into a rebel plot and caught in a crossfire. The rebels had no intention of paying him, wanting only the equipment. Kylie, grief-stricken, helped the Empire as much as she could, but the rebels had gotten away with their equipment.
Kylie hated the rebellion. They cheated her father, a good, hard working man in the galaxy. The Empire even offered to help her get the business back on its feet. She grudgingly accepted the offer. She had no other choice--she was no savvy businessman like her father was.
Unfortunately, it didn't turn out so well. She tried to get the Denton family business going, but with the Empire's seal on everything, it wasn't as well recieved. She couldn't back out.. and she couldn't turn to the rebels. She was forced to close the whole business and sell it. Having nowhere else to turn, Kylie signed up for the Empire.
Standing only 5' 5", short for a stormtrooper, Kylie was immediately discriminated against. She wasn't physically fit, and that made it insanely difficult for her in basic training. But she stuck to her resolve. Fortunately, she had other skills. She was a decent speeder pilot and excellent at on-the-fly repairs and scout duty. Not to mention she sliced into the database and altered her performance scores, graduating from the academy with good marks. She couldn't get the job she wanted, which was as a TIE pilot or shuttle pilot--that would draw too much attention--but she hoped she could work her way into a cockpit soon enough.
After a year on her first station, she has tried her best to fit in with her legion, looking for any other misfits to band with. She doesn't like the Empire's methods, as their politics are rather shrewd, but they're the ones that took her in and tried to save her father from the rebels. She's stuck between careers--but she won't stop chasing the stars.
I provided my backstory for being Chiss a few posts back, though I called it speculation.
That's all I'm going to offer for being a Chiss.
However, if it's not good enough, then I'll just make a human soldier, and we won't have a skill monkey (which a Chiss scoundrel would be).

Alacar: Ah, duh, I was going to give you the rifle and forgot. And I wasn't aware a grappling hook was standard issue. So sure, free blaster rifle (Or a different blaster of lesser value if you prefer) and grappling hook.
And we will be using vitality and wound points, because I like them aside from how the force powers pull from vitality. Also critical hits will damage both vitality and wound points. Meaning the attack will deal the full damage roll to both wound and vitality points, not half to each or anything like that.I do it this way because it still has the "double damage" feel and otherwise if you only get like one critical hit in an important fight and end up having to drain the opponent's vitality anyway the crit ended up being almost useless.
Ti'rin: Yes, that backstory will work. Go ahead and make your character.
Kiefru: Your character can only use the force in tense/high stress situations? Sounds like a fun idea. As long as you realize that you'll probably be weaker than the others a majority of the time.
Mindrot: I think you forgot to make your sheet public. And thanks for being a human :).

Also, in reference to Echani.
Echani is a culture, similar to Mandalorian. Culture and race are often interchangeable when referring to them. They are frequently referred to as a race. I understand the books don't have them listed as a race, but several other sources do, as far lumping them into a race for stat allocation, general appearance, etc. So asking to be an echani, is basically asking to be mandalorian. A human who's backstory has them coming from that culture, and therefore gaining certain advantages and disadvantages.
@KoolKoal: Are we allowed to state what we'd like our characters to develop into in the future?
Mindrot: Yeah, I can see it now. As for discussing future plans, if you mean your future stats such as classes and feats, that's fine. If you mean future developments in personality and rp stuff, you can pm me things like your goals for the character and I can try to work in chances for you to meet them.
