Yes, they do, if your DM uses XP penalties for multiclasses. However for example if your race doesn't have a penalty for rogue, you could ask your DM to not incur the penalty if you're taking a rogue-based prestige class.
Everything scares me... kitties scare me... squirrels scare me... corpses....corpses bring forth a pletora of confusing feeling which i prefer not to dwell on...:p
As to a discussion topic: I think there should be a seperate skill list for combat techniques like tripping, bull rushing, etc, as opposed to them being feats and the like. I mean, just as with any skill, i'd imagine more experience would make you better at those.

is it just me or does it seam like there are never any new play by post games?
They're a lot of effort to keep up. I'd join one if there were sign ups for one. I could actively post two times during the day (before and after school or work). I'm just a ridiculously terrible and chronically unprepared DM.
Before I ask this, I would like to mention that it has been a long time since I asked a question
Does anybody know how to go about castine arcane spells as divine spells with the Archivist?
Gracias..

I know this is a double post, but I wanted to keep them separate due to the subject...
After much research i'm pretty sure this is how it happens.
Archivist seeks out a mystic theurge or other caster with both classes, who also happens to have Alternative Source Spell as a feat. Has them scribe a few scrolls as divine spells which he can them copy into his prayerbook.
Are there other ways? Because finding a magic user with both types and that feat seem highly specific and not very DM-friendly.
Also, do the arcane spells, after copied into the prayerbook, still suffer the -1 to caster level?
Again, thanks... :-/:-/

So for filling my prayerbook with lots of fun spells, all I have to do is the following?
1) Find a willing arcane magic user to work with.
2) He provides the spell as I scribe the scroll and pay the associated costs (both xp and gp).
3) Copy spell from scroll to prayerbook.
So, if i'm correct, a special feat isn't even needed?
That's insane. Like crazy insane. Gonna give my DM a freakin' headache. At least i'm not gonna be an incantatrix.

I'm not entirely sure this is the correct forum for this discussion topic, but what would your idea for a funny character be (beyond the obvious combinations of halfling barbarian, half-orc wizard, etc)?
My current idea, for a campaign I will be joining in around a month, is Human Bard 1/ Archivist 11 by the name of George Michael. Ill have tons of points in charisma, as well as perform (vocal), perform (guitar/lute), and skill focus (guitar). Ill have the leadership feat coupling my high charisma to induce hordes of wenches to follow and do my bidding. I will also make a point of using dark knowledge to stun creatures by the word Babie (which I have a sound recording of from his song 'Faith').

Alternatively, A geomancer can cast any arcane spells as divine and any divine spells as arcane, allowing such scrolls. Also a feat that is online and forgotten realms based that allows such shenanigans 3/day.
This also means that Psion (Erudite) can manifest divine spells, arcane spells and all powers.

Hey, can somebody explain to me the difference between wielding a two bladed weapon and two seperate weapons?
Like, with seperate weapons, I know the off-hand only gets half your strength bonus to damage.
Weapons wielded with both hands get 1 1/2 though.
Can somebody just fully explain what bonuses are involved with both for the purposes of two weapon fighting?

When it comes to double edged weapon the advantage (as far as I know) is that the off hand has the same damage as the other without taking a penalty.
And I have a question, my game I am running I am looking for a good adventure to take up a few sessions and I was thinking the players being an escort from the thieves guild to make an alliance with a goblin tribe. Yay or nay?

Why would a thieves guild want an alliance with a goblin tribe? It sounds fine, but I've found that combat takes more time than roleplay, so it sounds like your concept wouldn't take up enough time. Well, barring random encounters, or combat with the goblins (although that sounds like mission failed XD)
Okay, I have a quick question about forum rules for here. I want to make a new character, but I don't really want it to be for a specific campaign. I'd like to just make it, then if I find a campaign, I'll repost it or something. Is this a viable option? And if so, do I just post a new thread for it so it can be moved once I'm done? I'm a bit lost, as the rules didn't specify much, or I missed it. Help would be nice, I don't like being confused. Thanks!
I'd like to DM a campaign in real life. However, I have never been a DM before, and I don't know anything about running a campaign. I thought I might start out with a premade one just to get a feel for the whole process. Where can I find premade campaigns?
Also, does anyone have brilliant advice for DMing? I'm not a bad storyteller, but balancing characters and enemies and whatnot is not something I have much experience with. Plus, while I have a lot of time to plan a campaign now since it's the holiday, I won't have much time during the school year to adjust it--just running the thing will probably take most of my spare time.
Sad to see you go, Talore.
That being said.. Stop leaving people. Especially the DMs. Not that I can do anything about it, but we need more activity, not less! Ah hell, who am I kidding..

My computer is slowly trying to commit seppuku. Do not ask me why it is doing it slowly, but I suppose it has its' reasons. Either way, my activity at P&PI is a bit lower as a result, as the times I do get it to work, I'm spending to keeping up with schoolwork or evacuating files to safety. I'll try to get MaskMen updated tomorrow, and to keep up here, but I won't be as active as I normally would. Sorreh.

Yes, I pretty much suck, but I have status, wealth, a cool possession and an Animal Companion. I can also Plead with 6.

No, wait. I'd never win a battle to the death. You'd bring a gestalt succubus ghost with levels in Master of the Unseen Hand.
I am going to be starting up a D20 Modern, but unfortunately there are only two spots and they've been filled.
