I am looking for exactly 4 players for this campaign. It is based off of an amalgam of plots from several JRPGs I've played, so if you notice similarities it probably isn't a coincidence.
There are no Gods in this campaign but you can still be a Divine class, just you will need to be of a concept rather then a God.

Oh and don't make a back story for your character you all have lost your memory.
Colour me interested. Any other houserules worth a mention?

The Sage is occupied with the unspoken
and acts without effort.
Teaching without verbosity,
producing without possessing,
creating without regard to result,
claiming nothing,
the Sage has nothing to lose.
What kind of combat/social/puzzle solving amounts should we expect? Also, what level do you intend to go up to?
Combat will likely be a main component, there will be a few puzzles and the amount of social interaction with NPC's will depend upon how you play.
As for the level I intend on it going to I have no idea.

Break, O Earth.
Dry up, O Sea.
Burn out, O Sun.
Grant us power Earthly Leaders and Gatekeepers of Hell.

I wouldn't mind one at all. I've wanted to play one for a while and I would love to see one played out before I run one of my own sometime.
There is a binder in a campaign that I am DMing right now. We've eschewed DC rolls in favor of role playing the binder/vestige negotiation. It can be pretty interesting at times, but now and then he'll do... very very odd things.
Like, despite KO'ing a lot of people, I haven't killed anyone in that campaign. Their binder, however, has.
(Not outright, but with a sorely-needed AoE on an enemy. The vestige caused him to disregard his party member's safety, and I don't think the binder/player realized that our pally was in the single digits.)
For those interested, the pally was true rezzed without much trouble.
That said, I think that it is possible to play a more congenial, helpful binder. Just be forewarned of the shenanigans that happen if a vestige takes over.
Ah well, thanks anyhow. I was going to try to have a little fun with melee but there's no real reason to not play a caster in 3.5 so I'll probably end up Focused Conjurer/Master Specialist.
Do you have access to tome of magic? I want to make sure before I make a binder. The class is fairest when the DM is fairly well informed.
I have it and I've read a little about the Binder but I don't know a great deal about them. A problem I just saw though is that without gods a couple of the Vestiges don't work, ie. The Guy that stole his soul from Olidamarra and was turned into a Vestige as Punishment/Reward.

That's up to you as the DM, then. Feel free to tweak the vestiges to fit your own creative needs. I'm not a min/maxer, and I don't even know most of the vestiges. So if you say, "oh, this vestige doesn't work like that" or "this vestige doesn't exist," I'm fine with that.
Shall I go ahead and make a binder? Or would you prefer something else?

I'll be sad if people don't start calling The Chain Veil "Fleetwood Mac."
After more thought I'm having a hard time coming up with a character that really interests me and I also need to learn a new system to join a different game so I'm going to respectfully bow out. Sorry for any inconvenience.

I suppose binder will be fine but yeah I may change what a Vestiges personality or backstory is, unless you have a problem with that go ahead and make one.
I also appreciate the fast replace and apologize to the rest of the group again. I had a previous commitment to learn Big Eyes Small Mouth by Tuesday and it's going rather poorly since it's my first attempt at a generic, point-buy character creation system and I'm completely overwhelmed by my choices as well as learning the homebrew setting. I shouldn't have asked to join in the first place but I really wanted to get in some more D&D. Then I had a hard time coming up with a secondary character idea and it just fell apart on me. So once again, I do apologize to the group and Daftmouse in particular. I do hope to play a game or two on here sometime and I hope my sudden departure didn't make you think less of me. PS. Thanks again Ain Soph Aur!
My dream of playing a monk/wizard named Parmenides (who runs around hitting people with temporal stasis-charged unarmed strikes while shouting "Δεν υπάρχει καμία αλλαγή") will have to wait. Probably going to play a druid.
is in great danger 4 Heroes will be marked and

Ditto, I'll post it sometime this weekend.
I'm thinking bard or binder. Would anyone mind a binder in the party? I know they can be frustrating.

I don't have the info on the class so unless there is somewhere I could find it online I'd rather you not use it.

Thanks for the fast replace man.
My character is about 2/3rds done. Sorry for the slowness, I've been learning about binders along the way.
