~Across the Void of the Multiverse, a rare interplanar event is occurring. Every plane in existence has synched into one moment of time, making every world follow a single day of identity to all the others. The time is currently an Earth standard of 1:04 a.m. and for the first time in several trillion years each and every plane is dark at the same time. Very few even realize this event and the importance it holds, as most don't even know the world beyond their shores, let alone beyond their perceived realities. Some tuck their children into bed, while others head out to party. Some prepare for the next kill while others pray they are not the next target.~
~Amidst the darkness and whispers of the night across countless worlds, an echo of thunder is heard in unison across the vast Void, resounding in each and every plane. As chance would have it, this interplanar synch is heralded by a threat. A Planar Storm, great vortexes of wild energy that is released from the darkness of the Void when Mana-Lines shatter. These Storms warp time and space as they run wild through sections of the Multiverse until natural mana lines absorb the hectic energy. With great flashes of forever distant lightning and the rumble of never ending thunder, a dozen planes are engulfed within the core of the Storm, throwing them all into a new reality. Some worlds change for the better, some for the worse. Some worlds are devoid of aspects that made them unique, while others are given powerful new gifts. Lives vanish without ever existing, others never seen take their place.~
~But within this chaos, new life is formed. From whence the Storm originated, a new plane has been forged in its wake. A twisted new world of both new and old, transcending reality to make something wholly unique. The Plane's mana lines are warped, turning the skilled in magic to mere students in power level. Weapon masters suddenly find it hard to wield their chosen weapons with skill, and all find their minds are open to all the mana the Multiverse has to offer. Those never capable of magic can now cast spells they've never dreamed of, while others simply claim the new power as God's Will. Many of the people that vanished from their homes have been transported here in one piece, unaware that they are no longer home.~
~It is here where are story begins. On a chaotic plane just born, but with ages of knowledge and power. Amongst the many that have been chosen through random chance to see her new life, a group has been placed precariously in the midst of it all. These individuals come from many different planes and backgrounds, all unaware of what has transpired~
~You awake in a field of high cut green grass, the sky above is covered completely by black clouds constantly rumbling with low thunder. The sky itself seems tinted red and the wind is silent as it caresses the bodies of those who lie around you in the field. As you come to consciousness you notice your surroundings. A jagged mountain straddles the vally, making a small grassy culdesac for you and your new found companions.~
Alright guys, here's your entrance. there's a lot more to the surroundings then this, but it's up to you to see what's off in the other directions, if you choose not to climb the mountain or stroll into the forest.
Clarification:
You guys do have your memories of your life and home world as it was before the Storm.
Only the Approved Players are currently in the field. When Unapproved Players become approved, they will be entered in.
In the field, Sy Larnin awoke with a pounding headache, accompanied by a small sigh of discomfort. "What happened to me...?" He asked himself, his eyes refocusing as he shook his head and sat up slowly. He used a paw as support beside and came to noticed others around him. His jaw slacked some, taking in their odd and obviously...alien appearances. Their identities would have to wait, however. The Corgi-like being stood slowly and checked his tiny figure for any noticeably wounds, but found none. Venturing away from the group to get a better view of the new location, the small warrior noticed nothing other than the skies seemed to display nothing than that decay, and the mountain had their own sense of despair. "By the Gods..." He rubbed his head and turned back to the mysterious group, his mind racing with more questions than the current situation could answer.
Graka opened her goggle clad eyes, her gaze shifting constantly as she sat up, taking in more of the world around her. This was not her island, this place was land as far as the eye could see. She felt immediately parched as panic flooded her. She saw others around her, strange creatures. Though some looked familiar, the air hunter for one, and some creatures that looked similar to the female air hunter.
Her brown coat and pants covered her slimy reddish-brown body, perhaps she could keep her moisture in if she wrapped it tighter around herself. A blade of grass stuck to the back of her head and she pawed at it frantically. It irritated her, this too tall grass.
She checked for her tool belt, sighing in relief as she found it intact, her steam gun intact as well. She slid her goggles onto her forehead.
Her long sticky tongue darted from her mouth and wiped her bright orange eyes. How she hoped she was just hallucinating, like the time she had accidentally inhaled those fumes in her father's workshop. She was not.
She ballooned her chest and chin in and out rapidly as she brooded over her predicament.
Julian jumped to his feet and scanned around. Mere seconds before he could think, he said, "What's a field doing in the city, and where are my pants?" He looked down. "Oh, they're on my legs, righto." Julian started to look around to get a bearing, maybe he'd messed up his flight spell and was just outside the city after a freak accident. After several moments of looking about, Julian sat down and started to plan. "Definitely not in the city anymore, but not a terribly bad looking place" he muttered. The best plan, he decided, was to sit here and see what the other people in the group would do as they came around one by one. After coming to this conclusion he sat to meditate, his back to the group.
for now he's speaking, if he ever thinks to himself without saying it aloud... I will think in the third person like this.
Helix's eyes fluttered open, remembering that voice, so soft in his brain, yet commanding with such calm, cold, fury.
Lying on his back, he reels around in a defensive crouch, putting his right hand to his blade, scanning the area.
*It's okay little one, there is no threat just yet...
After rescanning the area, he stands up, and brushes off his armor. A faded black cloak, with a light armor strapped to his chest, arms and legs. His boots were dusty, but intact. He crouched quickly to check the straps.
Tall and wiry, yet with an air of dominating insanity he could make even the strongest warrior wary. A Psychophant by nature, he feared nothing, and could be reckless and quick to anger. He wondered if this was his punishment for that incident, it seemed like eons ago, and he had nearly forgotten it all...
It must have been the voices, the ones that he only heard, guiding him, taunting him, giving him strength. But yet he was supposed to be insane. Only he heard the voices, only he knew what the secrets were. Only he had the power... not any of them. It was MADDENING!
*Breathe little one... relax.... calm... All will be well...*
He breathed, letting the last of his breath hiss from his teeth. Calming himself.
"What is happening....?
Me talking out loud is in italic's and surrounded by ""
Terry eyes slowly opened as he woke to the dull murmur of voices and movement.
"The sky looks angry..." He thought as he took in the sight above him.
He inhaled deeply, only to stop suddenly surprised at the strong scent of grass. "This isn't my bed..."
He slowly sat up and looked around a bit, not yet seeing the figures in the grass near him. "I must be dreaming..."
As if to test that hypothesis, he ran fingers through the grass, letting the blades wrap around his fingers. "No...I'm not dreaming...but...where am I?"
In that moment, he realized he was hearing the low rumbling of thunder and looked around even more, finally noticing the others in the field.
Icthys opened her eyes and slowly, carefully raised herself into a crouching position.
"What the...Is...Is that a giant frog?" she heard.
Who's never seen a tuan? she thought incredulously. She dared a peek overtop the blades of grass, and her eyes widened. Grass as far as the eye could see, ending in a high, jagged mountain and a sky blackened by storm clouds. Where was she? Certainly not anywhere on Octovaria - if she couldn't tell by the lack of water, there was also the dimwitted, scaleless person gaping at the tuan.
Who else was here?
A quick sweep of the eyes indicated - no other tuan or merfolk, but several more of the scaleless people, as well as a few short creatures covered in hair. Surroundings - check. Weapons. Oddly enough, the most violent storm she had ever been caught up in - a foraging trip for water gone horribly wrong - had left her spear undamaged. That just left the most important thing. She needed to find water, to resupply her flasks, and if she could do it before any of these others woke up, the better.
Creeping as stealthily as possible on her hands and knees, she made her way toward the forest.
Creeping as stealthily as possible on her hands and knees, she made her way toward the forest.
~moving as quickly and quietly as possible, Icthys was able to slide stealthily into the tree line undetected by the others, who were to baffled and dazed at their new world to notice one missing body~
Yes, I'm letting you saunter right on into the forest. Always interesting to see where the 'loners' end up
Graka turned to Terry who she thought was a scaleless Air Hunter and began a tirade of hypotheses.
"You and the other pale Air Hunters, what happened to your scales? Accident? Unlikely, no signs of burns or scrapes. Flesh tone is uniform. Genetic deformity perhaps? Probable, but unlikely, numbers of pale Air Hunters contradict rarity. -I thought I saw a naturally colored Air Hunter, must have been seeing things. Brain affected by shock and lack of water.- But back to the topic at hand. If not a deformity then maybe...Are your people tribal in nature? A yet undiscovered race of Air Hunters? If so, why do you lack scales and still live to maturity? No, the only conclusion...A new species entirely!"
OOC: Awesome. Since I'm not engaged in dialogue with anyone, I'll just describe my intended course of actions in present tense:
Icthys remains vigilant to the sounds of running water and large animals (as least the ones native to Octovaria). She looks around for a tree with a good distribution of limbs and checks to make sure there are no insect or bird nests in the way. When she finds one, she climbs up it as far as she can, keeping one eye on any movement in the grassy meadow and the other eye scoping the landscape for a decent body of water.
Julian heard one of them start talking... in great length. He concentrated harder on his meditation but at best was just sitting there with his eyes closed, perhaps appearing asleep, but either way: Julian was listening. Whether he wanted to or not. He sighed softly and went back to planning. Being a mage who conjures weapons and appearing to be a slender human with no real muscle definition, Julian decided if it came to it he'd play the "defenseless" human. After a number of minutes he wondered if the scaled female would ever be quiet.

~ The forest is oddly darker then the world outside, as if night has a hold over the black barked trees. With pale gray leaves and a disdain for any form of color, the forest looks like an unfinished painting compared to the rest of the world. The ground is soft but stable, and even though the entire place looks and smells dead, it is very much alive.~
~ From atop the tree Icthys sees several things in the distance, to the north, the mountain and with it facing her, she sees a set of large ruined spires made of an unidentifiable materials hidden by the mountain's back. Turning to the fores side she notes that there is a very large body of water in the distance, however several miles of the dark forest separate her from the water~
Sy Larnin listened to the others, hearing the name Terry, and wandered back to the group. " See we speak a common language..." He crossed his arms and looked around at the others. "Now...Questions should very much be present. I'll begin with the most basic: My name is Sy Larnin, and I hail from Viriina."
He tapped his arm some and looked around, hardly noticing the disappearance of a single being, and sat down again. "I must ask, would anyone have the common knowledge of why we're here?"
Graka smiled. "Nice to meet you, Sy. Like your fur. I am Graka Tho'ak of Octovaria. No idea why we're here. Have my hypotheses, but blind guesses will not solve this. All I remember was going to sleep on my island in my own house and awaking feeling very...wrong. Though might have been the dryness here. Can't be sure. Judgement clouded by emotional response to situation. I can only surmise we all have similar stories. I suggest we explore, find pieces to the puzzle, collect samples, soil, flora, fauna maybe, water...yes most certainly water." She licked her eyes again, cleaning them and keeping them moisturized.
A few hours of solitary trekking in a dark forest...more, if she was careful. No, thanks, Icthys thought to herself. The others were going to have to head this way soon, especially the tuan, as there didn't appear to be much sustenance in those mountains. If she was going to scout ahead, she damn well wasn't going to do it for free.
Besides, she had what she came for.
Icthys climbed down the tree and slowly returned to the group, hands resting at her sides so as not to appear a threat. "Graka, is it? What do you say to an exchange of information? You tell me everything you've deduced about this place and these people...I help you find water." She picked up one of her near-empty flasks and sloshed it around for emphasis.
Julian flopped on his back and looked at the group upside down. "Everybody wake up yet?" he asked jovially after hearing the return of a being he could have sworn was among the unconscious. Better be careful he thought to himself. "Water sounds like a good deal, unless it's full of giant angry beasties" he mused aloud. After a flash of inspiration he started patting his pockets, still laying on the ground staring upside down at the group. Moments later his smile grew a little brighter "Yay! Pockets still empty! Means no tiny beasties here in the field that like to sneak into your pockets."
Julian's smile faded and he flipped up onto his feet and turned to face the group. If they were all going to wander off together; he didn't want to be left alone in the field if it got any darker out.
Helix turned towards the others, hearing their banter back and forth, he was already bored. But there was information to be found, and a whole new place to discover.
*Let me out little one, just for a bit, to taste the air here...please...
Helix looked down to the sword at his left "Can you behave? You remember what happened last time, right? I thought we'd never lose them, we were incredibly lucky you know!" He was obviously becoming flustered with the sword, his voice slowly raising to a loud whisper.
*I know young one, I am sorry, I promise to be good...please?
Helix gave his sword a small sneer, mocking it as if it we alive... "Fine. But you said that the last time..."
With such precision and skill, he drew his blade, holding it in front of his face, a grin started creeping up, growing wider. "Happy now? You're out and tasting air again, of such a new place too..." He spoke directly to the blade, though the responses he heard, were fallen to deaf ears with anyone else. It would seem as though he was having a conversation with himself.
*Yes, thank you my child, the air here is strange... tempest like, something in the air is wrong, I've gotten hints of home, blended with so much unknown.... Thank you, I can be put back now.
With a quick motion Helix had the sword back in its sheath, and was looking towards the forest. He saw the others, but was more interested in those old and unknown trees.
~With elegance and speed Helix vanishes into the trees, those who are awake may have taken notice, but whether or not they're concerned with his vanishing is unknown~
Scanning the area he took in his surroundings, searching for anything familiar, something edible, and water...
~Given his attunement for the weather, Helix is able to catch the scent of salt water, though the scent is weak and clearly quite a ways away. The forest itself is dark and dead quiet, but somehow oddly familiar to Helix. The only sound being a breeze that ruffles a nearby tree.~
Derp, vampiric is wrong, thinking of someone else, fixed for your character.
Jack was sitting up at this point seeing the events unfolding around him. He wasn't sure what was going on, but he had a feeling that he actually wasn't dreaming this time. He saw the young man that he recognized was also from Earth and immediately approached him. "Hey kid! What are you doing here?"
Raine slowly awakens and almost immediately draws her sidearm. She knows that this place is unfamiliar to her. She was just about to complete a very high paying task and was all dressed up in her leather bodysuit with her silenced pistol and a hidden blade tucked into her right boot. She is confused and uncomfortable so she begins to survey her surroundings..
Raine slowly looks around her general surroundings and sees that she is amongst others. Staring at all these strange looking "beings" of which she has never seen before has her confused. She states: "Is it Halloween yet?"
"And who's pet is that?" as she looks at Sy.
Raine does not look happy to be here and more questions are coming up every second that passes...

Jack heard the comment of whether it was Halloween or not. He had to chuckle as he wondered if thats what this all was. "I don't think it is. However the way your dressed you look like you were on your way to a costume party or a S&M gathering."
