Petrine was unsure of what constituted a "need." She had already bargained for the necessities of life at the Market. She left it blank for now, and handed it over to the clerk when she arrived at the Archives.
What will I do if this fails? I suppose that a town like this can always use a good mechanic...but that seems it would only stave off the inevitable day when the "Gap Beasts" swallow this town like they did Paris. I will have to approach Simonne and ask her for another chance. Unlike the others from the Old World, I am not prone to explode or have blades shoot out of my arms. If I use this..."power" wisely, there is no need that she should know about it at all.
Damian: (At the "Equine Terrible")
The barmaid laughed out loud. (F) "You are funny, young man. Gimme a kiss on the cheek and we're even!" A wide grin followed, and she rested her hands on her thighs, challenging him. "You are welcome here, there's no need to look for compensations and payments. That's old news, we have moved on. You must've lived under a rock for a while. Everyone that is a friend to Mennecy will be embraced as such." She winked at him.
"Oh well..um thankyou." Damian kissed her cheek and walked out of the place with a small smile. His next move was going to involve checking out the Archives as he remembered that some of the others were talking about going there before he left for food. Now that he was refreshed he set out for the Archives. Upon arriving there and getting the same sheet along with the instructions, He promptly filled out his sheet as thus:
########### Historians Personal Application Sheet 32-B ###########

Jasna only muttered a hello to Simonne before heading to her room.
She contemplated the man's words as she cleaned her Mosin Negant, paying attention to every detail. It was her meditation.
She would hunt the wolves and keep these peaceful people safe while she figured out how to get back home, or if she even wanted to.
What home did she have to return to? Her home was downstairs, parked in the garage.
She would go to the Historians later. After a nap.
She set the gun down, -fully assembled and ready to fire- and rested.
Alexandre blinked at the generous offer. (French)"I would gladly send you field notes in exchange for this magnificent weapon!" he responded, handing one cigar to the man. (French)"Do you perhaps have some sort of sheath for this?" He asked? The storekeeper turned around and pulled out an irregularly shaped but servicible sheath from the same place he got the prototype. "Here you go. And take care to write down everything you experience with it!" Strapping down the sword and knives, Alexandre gave his thanks and left to find a backpack, a compas and a blanket from the market, along with two notebooks, two pencils and a pen.

I opened one last year, got two crap worldwake packs and 8x scathe zombies, which I promptly hid around my sister's apartment for her roommates to find. But, yeah, it was a piece of crap.
You, sir, have just won the internet. Congratulations.
Samuel: (At the HHQ, Bureau of Acquisitions, 2nd Floor)
As he walked up the stairs to the second floor, he could already here the bustling atmosphere in the Bureau of Acquisitions. As he reached the floor and stepped through the doors into the hall, he could see a flight of Vaults covering the entire east side of the floor, and a couple of seperated rooms on the west side. In between, several individual workplaces, covered with typewriters and paper stacks and folders were occupied by clerks and - fairly obvious - scavengers. The equipment these people carried with them varied greatly, and so did the things they brought in. Some had plant samples, or old machinery, others handed over documents. He could also witness empty handed scavengers receiving folders and a handshake, followed by leaving the Bureau. This was obviously where contracts were handed out and brought in.
In the middle of the north wall, opposite to the doors he just walked through, a massive board, spanning almost half of the entire buildings width, was a board that had sheets of paper attached to it. Strings of red thread contected some, others were kept seperate. The sheets were sorted by levels from one to five, and ever so often, a clerk left his workplace to take a sheet down or attach a new one. The whole place seemed like an ant-hive, bursting with activity, yet no one seemed in a rush or stressing. Several of the scavengers openly carried weapons, from blades to guns, crossbows or even a rare few of the pneumatic weapons he had seen before.
As he stood there, with his filled out sheet in hand, observing the scenery, a clerk in her twenties approached him with a raised eyebrow. "Ah, hello there! Please come with me, my station is free. Did you have a good day so far? We heard of trouble with the Enforcers, in the West. Did you hear anything about that? My name is Michelle - normally, I would have looked up your normal liason, but we are a bit swamped after the L'Etiole incident ... I will make sure all is in order for your points processing, no worries."
She made him follow her to her desk, station #17, and offered him a seat before she sat down across from him. As he handed her the sheet over, Michelle let off a surpressed giggle. []"Ah, you are the cutest. That must be one of the better 32-B's I have seen in my time here. Alright! Let's see ... you are very obviously a green scavenger. Well, in that case, welcome aboard, Samuel. Let me just pull up the level one application, and we get you on the road."
With quick movements, she flicked through a folder to her left, dug up another form and started transfering information. "Once I am done here, you will receive your scavenger ID, so we can keep track of your accomplishments. Your SID will be SF-370525-12 - it's fairly simple to take apart - your initials, the year, month and day, and the running application number of the day." She scribbled some more, than put a preprinted sheet into her type writer. Michelle started hammering away at the trained speed of a professional.
Ding!
"Aaaand that will be it for your application! Now, please go forward and pick a task from the board - right now, you only have a level one clearance, so that is the pool to choose from for you. Find one, come back, and then I will answer all your questions, Samuel. I will be right here." She gave him a smile.
Petrine, Damian: (At the HHQ, Archives, 3rd Floor)
When Petrine and Damian, with short delay of a couple minutes, arrived in the Archives, they faced the opposite of the floor below them. The Archves were row after row of shelves, where books, folders and boxes were stored. The clerks working here were quiet and sat at desks, reading documents and publications. As they entered, a grey-haired man in his sixties came forward and motioned them towards the massive counter in the middle of it all.
Whilst people moved new items from carts into the shelves or took out items according to lists on clipboards in the background, the man sat down and adjusted his glasses. He faced Petrine first. "Dear Miss Bernard ... I must confess, you leave me with questions. Usually, the Archives are the cradle of answers, so I must have a preliminary chat with you. First of all ... time and space travel? You may excuse my bewilderment. The height of human technology we had before the Collapse were airships, a break-through in engine-powered flight and the closest we got to publication on the subject are purely fiction. May I ask why you are seeking such knowledge?" He took a sheet of paper and a pencil, preparing to take notes as he talked to her. "On humans with extraordinary abilities, I again am struck with confusion. Are you referring to the Gifted or do you mean beyond that? And about the return to your home ... where would that be?"
He would listen to her answers, and react upon them accordingly, taking notes in the process, before he addressed Damian.
"Now, Mr. Gambit ... whilst the Archives may not be able to help you with your career as a writer, as all means of mass publication and comercial apporach to literature are gone, you can sure learn a thing or two about the history of Mennecy, the Order of the White Sun and the Historians. I would highlight these three subjects in your quest, as they should yield the most results. I will direct you to the sub-department attendants, so they can help you refine your search. As for remains of other nations - we do have a scarce section dealing with that topic, but given the long transit times of scouts and the rough life on the road, I am afraid that we cannot guarantee any recent information, nor all encompassing descriptions. I will direct you there, too."
Jasna: (At her new place, Rue de Coeur, Apt. 22)
When she entered the appartment, she immediately noticed the simple nature of it. A bed, a shelf, drawer, desk and chair, bedding and a carpet - that was it, for the furniture. Her window looked out on the street. The room was clean, albeit not spotless - it may have been some time since someone lived here. The bathroom had a small tub with a shower, a sink with a mirror above it and a toilet. Again, simplistic in nature and without any personal touch, the washroom told the same story of being without an owner for quite some time.
Tipping his hat to Petrine, Damian followed the advice from the gentleman. "See you later kid. Good luck to you." He said with a small wave without looking back at her. Looking through the different tomes that he passed by, he noticed the age of some of them and recognized a few books that had similar names to those that were in his father's library involving medical practices, science, and art. He remember when these volumes were cared for and proudly set on display and how his parents insisted he look through them to find his passion for studies. Upon finding the book with the name that he was given, he pulled it out with great care and traced the embroided lettering. Gently opening it he began to scan and read.
Petrine laughs nervously. "Do excuse me for speaking such nonsense. I must have hit my head...the last thing I remember, before Simonne brought my companions and me here, was waking up by the ruin of the Eiffel Tower. My parents and I lived above a small shop on the outskirts of Paris. From what I hear, it has all been destroyed."
She continued, "Could you tell me more about these 'Gifted'? From what Simonne told me of the despicable Germans and their experiments, it seems more like a curse."
