Fideas looks grim at this revelation. "I doubt they're defectors," he says to the group. "They're too well organized to be rogue crews. I'd wager they were ordered to seal off the escape routes and kill any loyalists fleeing Twin Bay."
"I agree with the dwarf. We must bring down as many ships as possible to allow the civilians to escape. But we need a plan of attack before we go charging in," Etos says. "If they were pirates, simply smashing through them might work. But the navy is highly trained."
"The Fleet Captain," Hector says. "We get close, board his ship, and take him captive. Then we escape and interrogate him. Just get me within sword range and I'll subdue him. I'll need someone to keep the crew off my back while I bring down the captain. Standard crew for a combat Flagship is fifteen to twenty five combat-capable soldiers, including at least five spellcasters."
"I think I can protect us from cannon fire, both from the flagship and from other ships," Etos says. "As well as obscuring our approach and escape. But I'll have to focus on that completely, so I won't be much use during the fighting."
Fideas seems to be warming up to this plan, and he adds "I'll deal with the crew below-decks, including the cannoneers. Once the cannons are disabled, we should have an easier time escaping."
Hector looks around. "Kalva will be busy at the helm. That leaves the four of you. Borotur and Taikavoima, I want yo-"
"Let them each decide how best they can contribute," Fideas interrupts. "They know their abilities better than you do, Hector. You might be used to barking orders, but that was in the past. These days, we must work as equals if we want to survive."
Everything scares me... kitties scare me... squirrels scare me... corpses....corpses bring forth a pletora of confusing feeling which i prefer not to dwell on...:p
"Gah," says Taikavoima, "I could sink every last ship in their fleet, the only problem would be the mages. They'd likely catch onto my tactics and attempt to dispel anything I sling at the hulls. I suppose the hostage taking sounds like a better plan. That said, if someone can obscure the view of the whole ship, I could pierce the illusion with True Seeing, and blast the hulls with impunity."
"I could cast Mass Fly on us if we need a way to board."
"I cahn take care of the boys on deck easy'nough. Mahybe even convince them to jump off." He hoists his axe up a little bit. "Specially if my swings go wide. But..." He turns to Hector. "The fleet won't back off if we just take the fleet captain, will it? We need to make sure the other can get out."
"I can hide the ship, Taikavoima," Etos says. "I can hide the ship we board from the others as well, to ensure nobody interferes. But once we get close I'll have to focus on keeping the cannons from blasting holes in the boat until Fideas kills the crew belowdecks."
Fideas gives Lily a somewhat surprised look. "A giant would be sure to attract the attention of every enemy on the ship. They would all focus on you. You'd be putting yourself in harm's way. But it's up to you."
"Borotur is right," Hector says. "Once we have the fleet captain, what do we do to get away?"
"Leave that to me," Fideas says with a grim smile. "I've got a plan."
Everything scares me... kitties scare me... squirrels scare me... corpses....corpses bring forth a pletora of confusing feeling which i prefer not to dwell on...:p
Captain Kalva orders the sails be raised, swings the ship briefly into moving almost the wrong direction but with the wind, then loops around to use the gathered momentum to plow toward the broadside of the flagship. The maneuver appears to be completely unexpected, and none of the other ships reacts in time to intercept.
"This is where it gets tricky," Etos says nervously. "I've got to be fairly close to block the cannons. We might take some fire."
Before he finishes the word "take" the first wave of cannon-fire is launched. The ten cannons on the broadside of the ship are aimed and fired at the Seafoam.

Only one cannonball manages a hit, but it is dangerously well-aimed. The shot blasts through the front of the ship, barely missing the main mast, though it does blow a large hole in the captain's quarters and out the back of the Seafoam. As the Seafoam rushes closer, Kalva swings her around again, drifting into an almost perfect parallel position to the flagship, just several dozen feet away. As the Seafoam's speed is sharply reduced, she slowly drifts toward the flagship, and will clearly be within only a few feet of it when she stops moving.
"Now, Fideas," Etos shouts. Fideas says a simple word infused with magic, and vanishes (Dimension Door). As the cannons take aim once again, Etos produces a rod from within his robes, aims at the cannons on the ship, and quicker than the speed of thought casts a powerful defensive spell (Quickened Wall of Force) just inches in front of the cannons. As the cannons fire, their shots are reflected by the wall in random directions, and a few punch holes in the side of the flagship. His other hand raises his staff, slams it down on the hull of the Seafoam, and a powerful illusion spell (Mirage Arcana) is layed over the area. It now appears as though both ships are the flagship to outside viewers, and they appear to have switched positions, making identifying the true flagship almost impossible. To those within the illusion, however, nothing appears to have changed.
"I'll have to concentrate on preventing the spellcasters from dispelling my magic," Etos says. "I'll be no use during this fight."
The crew of the flagship all draw swords, knowing they are about to be boarded. The most well-dressed and well-equipped of them brandishes a beatifully made rapier, shouting orders to the rest.
"There he is," Hector growls. "Get me to him." Hector draws his twin blades, a pair of gracefully curved elven longswords, and waits.
Everything scares me... kitties scare me... squirrels scare me... corpses....corpses bring forth a pletora of confusing feeling which i prefer not to dwell on...:p
Taikavoima springs into action. He channels his energies through the Eldritch Tapestry, and surges multiple spells to all of his allies.
He then fires a crackling black ray of energy, which splits itself to hit all of the men on the flagship, draining them of energy. "They're all yours!" he shouts.
Casting Spiderskin and Greater Resistance through the tapestry (+5 natural armor and +3 to all saves for all allies) as a move action, then casting Chained Enervation at the captain and up to fourteen of his crewmates.
Touch Attack rolls, followed by negative level rolls, as necessary
Lily soars into the air, and flies at the other vessel as she goes in for a landing she transforms into an extremely large Tiger in the form of which she slashes at the nearest opponent that is within range of her claws.

That is not dead which can eternal lie. And with strange eons even death may die.
Taikavoima's spell misses 5 of the enemy sailors, but solidly strikes 10 of them, including the captain. Their knees shake with fatigue as the spell saps their very life energy, but they remain on their feet.
Hector shouts to some of the Seafoam's crew, and with his help they haul two 10-foot long planks between the ships, creating a bridge from one to the other.
The enemy crew watches, then moves into position to surround the end of each plank, ready to unleash a flurry of attacks at anyone foolish enough to cross.
Unknown to the crew, Lily has prepared a deadly sneak attack. From nowhere, she dives upon the enemy ship and suddenly the crew is faced with a vicious tiger with the intellect of an elf. A lightning-swift strike scores a line of horrible claw marks down the face of one sailor, but he somehow manages to remain on his feet.
He is then immediately blasted from behind by Vael's devestating spear of acidic arcane power. The first spear hits him low, splashing the back of his legs with acid. As it bubbles, he screams horribly, but still lives. The second spear strikes him square in the chest, and he is reduced to nothing but a pile of sizzling goo.
@Cabal_Chan: With Hector's actions, would you like to change anything? If Borotur crosses right now, he'll get hit with about 7 attacks of opportunity for moving into a bunch of opponent squares.
Everything scares me... kitties scare me... squirrels scare me... corpses....corpses bring forth a pletora of confusing feeling which i prefer not to dwell on...:p
Borotur remains where he is. As much as he longed to join the battle, he didn't live this long by being rash. He advances halfway across the gangplank(5 feet).
OOC
Amended action posted. I don't think I can take 7 AoO's, and then still have the HP to deal with the combat afterwards.:P Best thing I can think of is moving partway across and keeping out of combat range, so I can be closer to help if Lily needs it.
Oh, and for the record, everyone doesn't have to post their actions in order of initiative. Everyone can post, and I'll arrange everything into a big combat post every round.
So just post your actions for the round, I'll post with NPC actions, and then you can adjust your actions if you want depending on how NPCs with higher initiative act.

Allowing At-Will Detect Magic Shenanigans to find out best targets? or at least magically stacked targets? because i feel blasting the blasters is much much safer
