Seeing that a pair of wolves had been drawn into the fight against the windreaver, Laelaps put away the ring and instead checked in on Streep up above as Omni stood it's ground between his owner and the still dangerous beast.
Laelaps - Streep, do you see any other predators near here?
Streep didn't see any other predators around. Laelap's reaver had made short work of one of the wolves and seemed to be ignoring the Coatls in favour of putting an end to the second. It wouldn't be long before it returned its attention to the group.
Corvus found that despite whatever effect his poisonous barbs were having, the windreaver was too agile to simply run itself through on his extended sword. It ducked under the blade and crashed into the warrior's ribs.
Laelaps got back to his feet slowly, hoping that the other wolf would keep the windreaver distracted from his slight recovery. He cast Call to imitate the distressed sounds of that the wolves were likely making due to the windreaver hoping to gain the attention of the unlucky pairs' pack mates, if they had any. He also cast Lure to bolster the Call's effect if it drew anything in the forest near enough.
Laelaps found no more support incoming from the wild despite his calls, though the diving Coatls did seem successful in blinding the creature. The windreaver lashed out wildly, taking down the last wolf and one of the summons.
Corvus suffered several lashes from the windreaver's tongues before he was able to slam the blade into its back, causing it to shudder and go limp.
As Corvus pushed the beast off of him, more of the quills came loose in its flesh. He sprang to his feet, his anger carrying him through the pain of the lashes. He ran towards where he last saw the hunter, blinking his sword to his hand.
Laelaps attempted to sneak behind the seemingly blind windreaver and cast Savage Claws again. He then moved in on the side in an another attempt to Slice to the windreaver's Bones.
Laelap's claws dug deep and the windreaver slumped over with a wheezing noise that suggested some sort of lung damage. In the stillness that followed Laelaps became acutely aware that these two were young windreavers.
**Yack make his way down the tree, pausing to loudly chittering something at the ground before getting off. A landshark pokes its head out the ground and makes some noises before sinking back into the earth.**
Yack - "Their territory is... large. They are fast. They are noisy. Cassie! Find hunting spot!"
Cassie - "Okay papa!"
**The little harpy flies above the forest, looking for a nearby raised area, clearings, etc.
Laelaps found a few scraps of orange fur in some nearby brambles that seemed to have been snapped south-westerly.
Cassie found that the naturally sloping of the land was more pronounced to the south-east, rising up into a region of the forest with slightly less dense trees.
Laelaps was sure the tracks continued leading south, though they were more sporadic the further south they got. The sound of running water soon met the groups ears, a light trickling noise that suggested the presence of a small brook or spring.
Laelaps - Fly up above us Streep, let me know if you see anything.
As the coatl flew above him, Laelaps walked toward the sound of the running water. He kept his eyes open for any signs of recent activity, especially anything that might suggest that the windreavers had been here.
Corvus found little to draw his attention as he fanned out from the others, though he could definitely hear the chirping of birds now that he was further from the site of the altercation.
Laelaps soon found himself standing in front of a small brook, water trickling east from the natural spring before them. A large rock nearby seemed to be smeared with blood.
**Yack finished explaining the situation to Cassie. Close listening would have revealed he disagreed with the tree assesment, but he seemed to prefer following the fox lead anyway.

Laelaps - These were young ones and although I hate to waste their skins, we better move on before we run in to some older ones.
Laelaps then turned toward their surroundings searching for any signs that the small group of vulpine creatures may have passed through there.
Come on and check it out. You know you want to.
Corvus - "Sounds good to me, if those are the kids, let's skip out on meeting the mother."

Laelaps - It would appear our targets are this way, let's hope they haven't been made folded back into nature yet.

Cassie - "That way!"
Yack - "Describe."
Cassie - "Less trees! Goes up!"
**Yack nods to the girl before pointing at the fur**
Yack - "Found foxes... other way."
**The girl points again to the east.**
Cassie - "But.. less trees."

Corvus - "Do you think they were after the foxes too?"

The boy kept his eyes out for any more signs of the fox-creatures as they moved forward.
Laelaps to Corvus - That's a possibility, though they were more likely after anything unlucky enough to be in their way.
